1955 Volkswagen Beetle Oval, Semaphore, ribbed door for sale. Its on its original pan and original body. This an absolutely rust free car! The pan has been coated in masterseries. New wiring harness front to back. Car has less than 10 miles since built.4 tab hood, conduit fenders, aluminum running boards, seal plates.The car although freshly built it has a look from the late 70's , T bars, deck lid stand offs, Auto-meter monster tach, power one piece windows, shaved trim, Bosch Euro headlight lens, Empi 5 spoke wheels with spare, new tires, 4 Willwood disc brakes, SS brake lines and assembled in SS hardware,Grant GT steering wheel, Fiero GT front seats in gray matching rear seat, black velour headliner, Kenwood BT CD Stereo (in glove box), 4 Kenwood speakers. 1641 Engine used but runs well , dual carbs, elect ign,Fat boy muffler , header,3/8 SS fuel line from front to back, elect FP, Line lock , Scat Shifter, lowered shocks , pro built beam.Pop out rear windows. 4.12 built transaxle, I do have the correct blade bumpers for it.The car is painted in Ford Ultraviolet purple and is an award winner. The car is just as clean underneath as on top, beam painted, transmission painted , springs plates etc..Its not perfect but close- the semaphores do not function and need to be rebuilt or replaced. Car has a line lock but not a functioning parking brake, I do have all the parts for it,including disc brake pbrake calipers.If a foreign buyer buys it , car must be picked up in 2 weeks. Up for sale is my custom 1957 VW Oval Deluxe Beetle. The history and restoration on this car is very extensive. It was professionally built by John Jones of Kustom Coach Werks in Grand Junction, Colorado. John built the car to take to the Bug-In in Las Vegas, where he won 1st place out of over 1500 VWs! A copy of this issue is included with the car. The article discusses the restoration in great detail, along with all the different companies and parts that were used to create this rolling work of art. John started with a rust-free 57’ Oval from Arizona with only 56,000 original miles. Here are the details on the restoration:~ the car was completely disassembled – body separated from the pan~ the underside, engine bay, jams, etc. were all media blasted~ stripped the outside~ sprayed with PPG Orange Glow and Vanilla Shake, PPG clear, wet sand and buff~ installed a 3 ½ inch narrowed beam with adjusters and KYB shocks~ raised the rear spring plates = lowering the rear~ Madson Upholstery installed TMI tan vinyl and oatmeal tweed seat covers and door panels, along with a tan mohair headliner and TMI oatmeal loop carpeting~ Flat-4 Banjo steering wheel with Golden Lady horn button The car was then purchased by a gentleman in Colorado Springs and he continued to make improvements and upgrades to the car. I have receipts of over $9000 (see invoice below) which included: ~ new 2007cc motor (100+ hp), built by Randy Bowen at Sportcar Volkswagen Service Center in Colorado Springs, so it really moves ~ new 4 speed transmission - the transmission was built by Rancho Performance Transaxles in California and the specs are PRO STREET 4.12 ring and pinion, stock ratios 1st - 3rd with close ratio 4th ~ new disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear ~ a high temp finish (Chromex) to the header and muffler ~ powder coating axle tubes, fan shroud, backing plates, etc.Randy has been building and racing VWs for over 35 years. He adjusted the rear brakes and replaced the brake light switch - everything else on the car was in proper working order. Here is a walk-around video of the interior, exterior, engine compartment and the car running: Overall, this 57' Euro Beetle is in near perfect condition! Only 1450 miles since its restoration in 2004-2005! The paint is near perfect with no rock chips, scratches or dents. The underside is in showroom condition. The interior is also near perfect with the exception of a few tiny holes in the headliner. The tires and wheels have less than 200 miles on them. The glass looks to be all original, with the exception of the windshield. The pop-up blinkers work properly and are really cool. Comes with a new high-end indoor California Car Cover. Father-daughter restoration project. Body-off restoration completed in 2000. Lightly driven and garaged since. Stock body with matching chassis and front VIN plate, correct 1957 hood, deck-lid, fenders, bumpers, head-lights/tail-lights, and turn-signals. Custom two-tone paint and upholstery. 12 volt converted electrical system with alternator, newly rebuilt 1200/34 HP engine. Full drive-train inspection, new brakes, fuel lines, and windshield in August 2014. Tons of extras; including: owner's manual, car cover, Volkswagen AM/FM cassette tape deck, bud vase, shifter lock, front lap seat belts with Wolfsburg emblem, stock steering wheel, fuel-tank reserve switch extension, carpeted trunk, diamond plate engine compartment surround, insulated floor-pan below carpet. Low mileage since restoration. Fun car to show off around town or at car shows. Not many oval windows around. Looking for a good home for our little gem. Volkswagen lovers only.
