1990 Volkswagen Corrado VW CORRADO TDI Swap / 50 MPG / 5spd / daily driven!

I am selling my 1990 VW Corrado with a TDI swap from a 1996 vw Passat. Many Corrado owners see a TDI swap as a sin but in fact this shell was going to the dump and was saved and converted in to one of the coolest commuter options. The fact of the matter is that we have speed limits, and traffic, and a 90hp corrado can safely get you to 80mph while holding 45-55mpg average. The car is setup with drive by wire. OBD2 and cruise control both work. I did not perform the swap. This was a unique car trade I made with the person who conducted the swap about two years ago. Since my ownership, I replaced the windshield, wheels, window regulator, oil and filter, and some other small things. According to the previous owner the clutch/ flywheel, timing belt/water pump were are swapped about 40,000 miles ago. Some of the upgrades include:Adjustable coilovers Performance chipGlass Passat sunroof Quality stainless exhaust Cross drilled rotors and stainless steel brake hosesOBD2 scan capable Some things that do not work:Electronic seatbelt Adjustable spoilerGlass sunroof Interior light Some paint issues shown in picture include a chip below drivers window, a repair above drivers fender. The exterior rust is very minimal however I did find a small hole, smaller than a quarter in the rear passenger floor (no I can not take pictures). I treated the area from the inside of the car with rust presenter. This is not something exposed to easily get a picture. The mileage reflects the drivetrain swap not the actual car. The actual car mileage is unknown. This car feels safe and ready for road trips. It starts with confident compression, lots of turbo spool, and some cold start squeal from the power pump pulley. I would not hesitate to travel far distances if you buy this car. This is a daily driven corrado. Is this Corrado perfect? The answer is no. it could use some ownership love. This is why I am listing at a mere $4250. A lot of work has gone in to making the swap, purchasing the parts and making it all work. When gas prices go back up, and everyone trades in their TDI from dieselgate, you will be that lucky person to show up in one of the coolest vw's ever made.

Selling 1992 VR6 Corrado garage queen owned by 65 year old Volkswagen enthusiast. This is the 6th Corrado I've owned and by far the best. I bought the car from a customer of my VW mechanic and it was meticulously maintained while he owned it. I have receipts from two previous owners. The car was always garaged, the paint and interior are original and are both in excellent condition as evidenced by the photos, even though the car has 137,000 miles on it. Even the OEM underhood insulation is in great condition. Everything mechanically works as it should - power windows, ice cold air conditioning and heater, sunroof, rear spoiler, cruise control, fog lights and even the original factory stereo still sounds great. Brake rotors were replaced and pads were changed to low dust Akebono ceramic pads. The car is also very tight with none of the usual rattles I've had in previous Corrados I've owned. The few modifications from stock are unique and tastefully done. The transmission has been replaced with a rare Autotech 6-speed close-ratio conversion made by Quaiffe - parts alone were nearly $4,000 and really makes a difference in the cars drivability. I know there are only a handful of these in existence. The exhaust is a Techtonics stainless cat-back system with a Borla muffler. It has a nice mellow tone, only slightly louder than stock. Oil and amp gauges from a later year Corrado were added. The wheels are BBS CS5 17x7.5 wheels with Sumitomo 205x40x17 tires. Wheels and tires have less than 100 miles on them. Coil over shocks are also new and were used to slightly lower the car. I also have the original OEM BBS wheels which are great shape as seen in 2 of the photos. This is a rare Volkswagen that it is in pretty rough condition and is being sold for parts, or restore. No rust or collision damage, but lots of dents and scratches, cracked windshield, mismatched wheels, and the interior isn't any better. This was my daily driver for about a year but is parked to due zero compression on one cylinder. I suspect a burned piston and/or valve. Symptoms indicate a teardown is needed and I don't have the means or inclination to do it. Brakes and 5 speed manual trans are good, supercharger is still strong but is also due for routine rebuild. Hood latch and hinges are shot but it has hood pins. Engine was very strong with the boost, before it dropped the one cylinder. Clean Title. Odometer reads 119250, I cannot say if this is correct or not, but the odometer and speedo have been working the whole time I've driven it. Again to be clear it is being sold as is for parts or repair only. It can be started and drove, but is only firing 3 cylinders and should not be driven anywhere but onto a trailer. Pickup is in North Wichita. If you want to arrange freight I will be glad to make myself available to help them load it. Runs great, starts right up, runs cool, shifts perfectly, clutch feels tight and amazing, no visible leaks 2. Drilled and slotted rotors, coil overs, mag style wheels and 4 new tires! New battery! 3. Beautiful interior with very little wear and no visible rips/tears in cloth upholstery, all gauges in working condition, has oil pressure gauge added 4. Sony cd player/speakers (recently reinstalled) 5. Just replaced alternator with OEM and newer exhaust 6. Recent oil change, new NGK plugs, new wires Bad: 1. Sunroof not working, spoiler works when it wants, air conditioning needs charge/possible leak, auto seatbelts not working 2. Paint peel on front and rear bumper, a few small dents/door dings, heater core bypassed 3. AS I STATED EARLIER......This car is super clean and well carred for and it shows.Everything works,the spoiler,the A/C,power seat belts,windows and I had a glass sunroof installed that works great!The car has original black paint and has a few dings and scratches as to be expected for a car of this era.There are no suprises with this car,I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across country.These cars are getting really hard to find,especially in this good of original condition!I did have the door handles replaced with new ones along with a new power window motor for the pass side.The car would make a great show car or drive it as is but if your planning on putting lambo hinges and painting it with chameleon paint then this isn't the car for you!If you can apreciate how nice this car is the way it sits then don't let this rare chance pass you by.All phone calls are welcome if your serious about buying the car.I will help with your shipper so no worries there.Oh,btw,I even have the sales brochure from when the original owner went into the vw dealership to order this car,kinda cool.
