The ruby red paint is in great condition on the exterior, interior, engine compartment and trunk. The car is complete and comes. The 1500 engine has dual carbs and runs great. When was the last time you saw one of these , other than perhaps on a Southern California beach with a surfboard strapped to the roof.? Now available for your consideration is a nicely driver quality restored, and recommissioned wagon, a very rare to find car in the automotive marketplace, TypeIII "Squareback" VW wagon. Given their infrequent availability, some of these iconic Squarebacks can command eye popping prices in nice condition. Absolutely fun to drive, very iconic, and representing the last year of production for this chassis, it has been completely refinished in Safari yellow, its interior completely replaced, and many new items grace its chassis inclusive Mini light style alloy wheels, new windshield, new window and door weatherstrips, additional pop-out side vent windows and factory tachometer (not installed, but illustrated herein), and much more. Additionally, the Type III is equipped with a very rare original roof rack. Yes, it will hold your Surfboard, ......or mother in law. The "Squareback" as it is commonly referred to received an engine overhaul at around 60K miles according the former owner, at which time he installed dual Weber carburetors in place of the factory fuel injection. The engine starts, runs an drives nicely, can be a bit cranky when cold due to the dual Weber carburators, however runs nicely after a few minutes, and its four speed fully synchromesh transmission shifts nicely with no issues. Handling is uncharacteristically superb with no over or understeer issues. Currently the odometer is intermittent, however the car was not operated over the last nine years, while being restored. The speedometer does functions normally, as do the other gauges. Not shown, the rear seat indeed does fold down flat to accommodate larger loads, a very convenient option. Great place for your dog.....or?? Its body is pretty much rust free with a previous small floor repair below the battery, (typical) and directly under the front seat, very nicely done. A small bubble is noticeable to the lower left fender at the intersection of the left door, approximately the size of a quarter. The paint overall is in very nice condition as the pictures illustrate. Upholstery, carpet and headliner, as previously mentioned are in excellent condition. Recent servicing included new NGK plugs, oil replacement (synthetic 10/40 Castrol), fuel filter, front wheel bearing replacements, coolant flush (just kidding), air filter cleaning (the Weber's use foam), new German brake rotors, wheel bearings, and pads, caliper overhaul, brake fluid flush, synthetic gear oil replacement, recent 4 new tires, and a complete detailing with Zymol Carnauba wax. This is a fun and delightful driver quality car which can be driven anywhere with confidence. The Type III's are excellent urban cruisers, however don't expect "break neck" acceleration or "007" high speed driving. Rare in their numbers, they are great cars to own, and many owners are now modifying them with lowered suspension, whitewalls, etc, giving them that "Retro" appearance. Parts availability is fabulous and they are easy to service and maintain. In conclusion, I cannot list everything herein, thus please feel free to contact me with a any additional questions. The "Buy It Now" price has been established nicely below NADA, and Old Car Reports price guide for a very nice #2 grade car. I suggest a review of these guides prior to considering purchase or an offer. . It will provide you with an idea as to how affordable this car is. Restoration to thisType III's level was in excess of $12K+. "Reasonable" offers will be considered, however, make no mistake about it, this is not a wholesale listing. Respectfully, please keep it real. The "Squareback" will be sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I strongly recommend personal inspection, or by a "qualified" person of your choice prior to auction end. Inspection, as a condition of sale after auction end will not be permitted. *Buyers with a feedback score of ten or less, please contact me prior to consider purchasing. It would be appreciated. Finally, I reserve the right to end the auction early. The Type III Squareback is for sale locally and other International venues. Thank you for the interest, and enjoy the pictures. 1964 VW Notchback 1500 S Sunroof             51 Professional Photos 1964 VW Notchback 1500 S Sunroof. Imported into San Jose, CA in 1964 where it remained until 2007. Very well documented car and apart of the1500club.com Check out their website for a complete history on this beautiful and rare 1500 S Notch. Incredibly original including the driveline, all sheet metal, floor pan, interior (except seats have been recovered once) and the exterior has be repainted one time in the correct "Perlweiss". The paint under the roof and trunk, interior, etc is all original! Engine has received loads of recent maintenance and runs like a top, with no smoke, and loads of power. Brand new Coker classic tires 100mi ago, new rear wheel cylinders, converted to 12v just a couple years ago, new shocks and ball joints just 1,000mi ago, etc. $3,000 in receipts over the last few years. Beautiful clean, nice glossy paint is A+ driver quality with only a few chips and blemishes, straight, and original car. Golde sunroof mechanism was serviced a few year back and works excellent with zero leaks. Headliner is mint, door panels are excellent with only a few blemishes on the drives side. You are looking at a nicely restored and rare (in this condition) 1969 VW Type 3 Fastback, probably the only one in Florida. The full restoration was completed over the past couple of years by the two prior owners... including fresh paint, brand new interior, new 1641 Brazilian sourced VW engine with dual weber 34 carbs, rebuilt auto transmission, new brakes and ball joints. The car is very clean (southern car from Texas) with no evidence of rust underneath or anywhere on the car. The odometer, which is working, shows 60,490 miles but exact mileage on the car is unknown. The car has been stored and hardly driven over the past three years...perhaps 1,000 miles. I've taken it out this week and easily cruised the local highway at 65 mph. The previous owner of this car was planning to convert to a 4-speed manual transmission but never started the work. Included in the sale are all the parts you'll need (some new, some reconditioned/used) to do a manual conversion including transmission, brand new shifter, clutch pedals etc. **The tunnel is already in place underneath. I would recommend that the new owner spend a little time driving it like I did before considering a manual swap. This automatic is sprightly and quick- nothing like I expected from my experience with VW's old auto-sticks. If I kept the car I'd leave it as an automatic. It starts up, runs great and does not smoke or burn oil. There are the usual vw oil drips underneath and my mechanic advises me the car will need new tie rods (about $200). The photos tell the story. The paint job was well done throughout. There are a couple small areas where the paint has developed hairline cracks- I've included photos of those spots and they are only noticeable from up close. The interior is like new- no tears or marks on the seats, excellent headliner and carpet in rear deck lid. Nicely painted dash to match the outside. Original radio works (like an old radio) and plays through the dash mounted speaker. The clock does not work- what a surprise. Speedometer, gas gauge, lights, wipers all work as they should. There is all new weather stripping on the doors. The glass all around is excellent and windows crank as they should. The front trunk and rear storage area are clean- see photos. Seat belts front and rear. The car is riding on 15 inch Empi, Porsche Fuchs replica wheels with Porsche center caps. The tires have less than 1,000 miles on them. Chrome is excellent. This rare VW Fastback is also listed for sale locally so the Ebay listing may be ended at any time. Keep in mind that this car is now 46 years old. It's not perfect and is sold strictly as-is with no warranties expressed or implied. Email me with any questions and I'll answer to the best of my very limited mechanical knowledge. May be seen in person in Orlando, FL. Get in touch to make an appointment by email through Ebay.

UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS 1966 VW VOLKSWAGEN TYPE III FASTBACK NEWER RESTORATION AND REBUILT MOTOR. THIS FASTBACK WAS RESTORED AND MOTOR REBUILT. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS IT IS IN GREAT CONDTION, THE INTERIOR LOOKS NEW SEATS, CARPET AND IN THE TRUNK AS WELL. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS BUG THE GUY I PURCHASED FROM SAID HE HAD THE MOTOR REBUILT IN 2007 THEN DID THE REST OF RESTORATION AND ONLY DROVE IT 4000.00 MILES. HE DID SAY IT IS A TYPE 1 MOTOR. AS YOU CAN SEE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT IT IS SUPER CLEAN AND HE EVEN SEALED IN COMPARTMENT. THE PAINT IS NICE BUT NOT SUPER HIGH DOLLAR PAINT JOB. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SOME BODY WORK ON FRONT UNDERSIDE WHERE BUMPER GO'S. OTHER THEN THAT THE BODY LOOKS GREAT. ON PASSENGERSIDE THERE IS SOME PAINT CHIPPING AND ON INSIDE OF DRIVERS DOOR ALONG EDGE(KEYS GOT LOCKED IN COAT HANGER) IT SHOULD BE A EASY TOUCH UP. I THINK THE CLUTCH MAY NEED A LITTLE ADJUSTING AND THE IDLE RESET A LITTLE, THE CAR DOES HAVE LARGER SIZE TIRES ON IT RIGHT NOW SO WHEN YOU TURN SHARP THEY RUB SOME. OTHER THEN THAT IT IS A DAILY DRIVER AND WE JUST HAD IT IN THE CAR SHOW HERE WHERE WE HAD LOTS OF WAVES AND CHEERS. I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK.
