I am selling my 1977 Trans Am . This is a pretty solid car. I have stored it in my shop since I have owned it. It does not need much rust repair. A little floor pan patching, and under the rear glass at the bottom. And the outside patina! The car was taken out of service in 1988. It is a California car. This car had a lot of money spent on it in the 80's. It has a shifter with a separate gate for racing. The interior is decent in the car for its age. The 455 would not turn over when I got it. I pulled it and took the heads off and the oil pan. It was just seized from sitting too long. The bore is very standard. I am not sure if it would need to be bored or not. I did not take the short block apart. I just wanted to be sure there was not a catastrophic failure. The engine is good to rebuild. I am throwing in the other parts I got for the build. The honeycomb wheels, a turbo 400 that is rebuilt, some 4x heads to put it at 9 -9.5 to 1 compression, an aluminum intake. I am also throwing in a 3.73 10 bolt posi rear end. The car is 99% there. I will give it a shot to sell on Ebay . If it does not sell keep watching , it may be back about February or March. I purchased this car from Richard Ellington, father of Shawn (Murder Nova) off of Street Outlaws. A super nice guy. I have too many projects so a couple of them must go so I can finish my 69 Camaro. I will lower the price if it does not sell. This is a 21 day listing so keep watching! Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.A $1000 immediate non-refundable deposit required when you hit buy it now. The rest of the payment is due within a week. Once the car is paid for, it can stay at my shop for 60 days if you need time to pick it up. I have a clear Oklahoma title in my name. Call with any questions, 405-550-9505.

You are bidding on a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. This is a numbers-matching car with factory 4 speed. It has the original build sheet as well as PHS documentation. It left the factory with the following options: -Body side moldings -W72 400 4 bbl (Pontiac) engine -Custom, color-keyed seat belts -Electric rear window defrost -Soft Ray glass, all -Door edge guards -Hood decal -Additional acoustical insulation -Lamp group -Front & rear floor mats -Right hand visor vanity mirror -Drip rail moldings -Delco AM radio with 8 track player -Tilt steering -G70x15 white-lettered tires Here's a quick, walk-around video with the engine running: http://vid73.photobucket.com/albums/i224/blue71ta/1978%20Trans%20Am/MVI_9953.mp4 The engine appears to have been rebuilt as it is very clean under the valve covers and inside the intake. It has Erson roller rockers and a mild cam that gives it a nice lope at idle. The following parts are all new (or remanufactured, in the case of the carb): NOS water pump remanufactured carburetor fuel pump-to-carb line air filter ported vacuum switch ACDelco spark plugs plug wires oil change with 10W40 oil pressure sending unit / switch heater hoses core support bushing kit battery The wheels have been balanced and there is good tread on tires. The rearend is the original 3.42 ratio posi with the "PY" code. I'm pretty sure the Borg Warner Super T-10 transmission is original also, but don't see a VIN on it (probably stamped on top of the case), but it is dated correctly for the car. The body is solid for the most part, but will need some patching in a few areas (bottoms of fenders, driver's front floor & rear quarters). The trunk is in very good condition, the rear body panel is solid & frame rails look solid. Check out the pics and video for more detail. The tach, clock and temp gauges are not currently working, but all other gauges work. Temp gauge likely just needs a sending unit to function. The radio is not working, nor are the lights & signals. These shouldn't be too hard to fix, just haven't had time. *Car will need to be trailered as the brakes need work and are not safe. Feels like the right front rotor is warped. I have a pair of used rotors off a '79 T/A that I will include with the car. This is a great start for a restoration. It's a numbers-matching, 4 speed car that runs & drives. You can fix /restore while you drive. Please ask all questions before bidding and only bid if you plan to complete the transaction. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end, with the balance due within 5 days from auction end. Car can be picked up after that as long as arrangements have been made. Deposit can be sent via PayPal. The balance is to be paid in cash or by wire transfer.
