This is a very unique Trans Am in factory white paint over factory white and red interior. I have been attending the Trans Am Nationals yearly for nearly a decade and have never seen a TA like this one from the factory. Its a stunning and RARE combination and I am sure one of few built like it. This Trans Am features a nice older repaint in factory Cameo White with brand new decals, a beautiful white over red interior, and a nice running 400 Pontiac engine. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Cameo White (code 11) over White/Red (code 11r) standard vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and PHS Docs pictured below. The low actual mileage of this TA is not only verified by the overall great condition of the car but also but the Ohio title stating the miles as "Actual" as seen in the photo of the Ohio title below. Exterior The Cameo White exterior is in great overall driver condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint in factory Cameo White years ago but still has a nice shine and the new decals were just installed and look perfect. It was believed by previous owners that this TA came from the factory without decals but PHS shows that decals were installed when new, therefore we added the correct decals. The paint is in great overall driver condition and both bumpers are in good shape with no flaking or faded paint. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are brand new with less than 100 miles on them and are sized 255/60/15 and the 15x8" snowflake wheels are brand new and in perfect shape with brand new center caps and lug nuts, nearly $2000 was just spent on these wheels and tires. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original style trunk mat. Interior The White and Red standard vinyl interior of this Trans Am is in fantastic condition. It truly is unique and one of a kind and ordered this way from the factory. Again, I have never seen one like this one before and it is a stunning look. The front seat covers have been replaced and are like new with no noticeable wear. The carpet is like new as well with no stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in excellent condition as well. The two prong AM/FM Cassette Pioneer stereo was installed years ago in the factory position so nothing was cut in the dash, and it sounds nice with the newer Pioneer speakers. The original door panels are in good condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is original and dropping in a few areas and package tray looks to be original as well and in good shape. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock, and the oil pressure gauge is intermittent. This TA was ordered with very few factory options which is a throw back to the older muscle cars back in the day. The stereo, wipers, and blower motor all work, the horn is currently not working properly and appears to need a new horn sensor. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. Mechanical This Trans Am is in great mechanical condition with only 75,847 actual miles. This TA was ordered from the factory with a W72 400 Pontiac engine with a factory 4 speed transmission. For reasons unknown those were removed years ago and a fresh "WT" coded Pontiac 400 and automatic transmission with Hurst dual gate shifter were installed. The 400 Pontiac engine was from a 1974 model and is in great running condition. We have driven this TA numerous times on the streets and highways and it always performs very well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs very well. This Trans Am is an great driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. True dual exhaust was added with headers and gives this TA and nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is exceptionally clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory non AC car which really cleans up the engine bay area. This TA has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and several wear items have been replaced. 19701/2 Trans Am Ram Air III. Ram Air H.O. WS 400 345 HP motor(L74) with factory 4 speed with Hurst shifter. 12 bolt rear end with 3:73 gears. With just 39,863 documented original miles, this classic retains a whole lot of its originality. Driven less than 500 miles since 1972 when it was added to a large car collection and sat undisturbed until 2012. At this time the motor was rebuilt to factory specs due to sitting for almost 40 years. It also received its first repaint in the correct Polar white then put back in storage. The car runs strong, shifts smoothly and handles amazingly well for retaining all its original suspension/steering components, including the factory spiral front shocks. The original open face alternator was rebuilt. Other than new pads, the brake system has never been touched and the car brakes well. The car sits on its original wheels with BF Goodrich tires that were put on the car in 1972.Yes, they are 45 years old but I could not bring myself to remove them. The interior retains all its original components except the carpet and shifter boot (Which I have). Has the rare working rear defroster and tilt wheel. Absolutely everything thing works including the clock, dome light, tach, heater, all factory gauges, all lights and even the horn. The radio was removed prior to 1972 but still has front and rear factory speakers. Interior is in very nice shape. The exterior as mentioned was repainted in 2012. It is believed to retain all its original sheet metal with no rust repair ever. The body is straight and tight. Doors do not sag and operate like new. Overall, very nice driver quality paint. The car was delivered new from the US to General Motors engineering of Canada in Oshawa Ontario on April1 1970. The car was used as a “test mule” for the next year while in the hands of GM engineering. During this time, a prototype sunroof was installed to GM factory production standards but was never available as an option as Pontiac went with the T-tops. It works great and does not leak. The other notable change during this time was a Pontiac aluminum intake was installed possibly to mimic the Ram Air IV motor. It retains the quad 4-bbl with a manual choke. In 1971 it was transferred to Terry Godsall of the Titus Godsall Trans Am Racing Team who sold it to the longtime owner in 1972. The car was never raced and was believed to be used for promotional purposes. It has never been plated/registered for legal road use. I have tried to be as descriptive as possible with the knowledge I have concerning this car. I have included as many high-quality photos as allowed. Converted to T56 6 speed manual in fall of 2015 (cost $3,500). The 5.7L engines only came with automatics from the factory; this is a popular conversion. Aftermarket Hooker headers and stainless steel Borla exhaust. New engine mounts, transmission mounts, driveshaft U joints. Balanced driveshaft. New starter, battery is from 2015. Stock engine, timing chain replaced in 2008, injectors in 2003, water pump in 2003. All emissions in place. Rebuilt headlight motors. Includes Noah car cover, Spohn subframe connectors and a Spohn front suspension and steering kit (pitman arm, tie rods etc.). This collector-ready survivor is certainly a time capsule, featuring a numbers matching W72 Pontiac 400 and an original aluminum 4-speed transmission in an original silver on silver color combination. Assembled at GM’s Van Nuys, California manufacturing facility in April of 1979, this all-original 10th Anniversary Edition Trans Am was originally delivered to Schappe Pontiac in Madison, Wisconsin. The care of this car over the years is easy to assume when you see it in person. The paint looks excellent overall, and the underside is VERY solid and original. This Trans Am is finished in original combination of correct GM code 15 Platinum Poly and GM code 16 Dark Charcoal, topped with a set of correct black and red outlining stripes, and finished with the world famous five color ‘super bird’ hood decal. Pop the hood and you’ll find an ultra-clean and mostly original engine bay which houses the original 400 cubic inch W72 V8. Behind that motor, a W72-exclusive Borg Warner T10 aluminum 4-speed sends power to the car’s original 10 bolt rear end and optional WS6 ‘special performance’ suspension package. And at the corners of that suspension are the classic 15 inch turbo style wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich rubber.
