Up for auction is a very nice and rare 1985 Trans Am. This was a special order car. The owner had the 5 speed transmission added along with the T-tops.The car was sitting in the garage for 20 years. It had boxes piled on it and they scratched the paint. The car looks good but some of the clear coat is coming off on the driver, rear side as seen in the photos. The oil and other fluids have been changed. I drove the car down town to get it detailed, motor, shampoo and color buff, etc. The car turns heads. I did not put new tires on the car, I'll leave that up to the new owner. The Trans Am shifts very smooth, the brakes work fine. The A/C works but I'm sure will need Freon. All electrical works fine. Lights work great, power windows work without any problems. I put new strut's in for the hood and back hatch. There are a few squeaks here and there that need to be worked out, from sitting. I think that all it needs is new tires, shock's/ struts, etc. And if I was to keep it, I get a new paint job. There is one small tear on the top corner of the driver's seat as seen in the photo. The drivers door hing drops a bit and the back of the door rubs on closure. See photo. Door's close fine and no rattles with the doors, etc. I drove it 50 miles and it drove very well. Radio and speakers work as well. It's hard to find a 5 speed in this condition. The car was owned by a very good man who ended up sick. I bought the car from the family to keep, but I'd rather have a 1977 to 1981 style car. I'm in the Pontiac POCI/ GMC club. The only real damage is the right front lower valance. I found one on e-Bay, but lost the bid. It sold for $80. If you have any questions, please ask... Best wishes, jim On Jan-09-17 at 10:24:10 PST, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention shipping. Shipping is up to the buyer. I will do all I can to help. I will bring the car up to I-10, to the town of Benson, AZ, which will lower the cost in shipping. If the car is bought by someone in Tucson or the Phoenix area, I will deliver the car for the cost of gas. Around 200 miles to Phoenix. Also, in the photo, the driver door looks like it doesn't close. The door is ajar, not closed all the way. The door does close tight. There is also a piece of trim missing on the door, as seen in the photo's. The T-Tops lock but there is no key :o(. The drivers side is unlocked. The passenger side is locked. It needs to be unlocked. This is the only Trans Am that I've had with locking T-Tops. I've had 6 Trans Am's all the other's didn't have locking T-Tops... If there's any questions, please ask... jim On Jan-10-17 at 14:17:32 PST, seller added the following information: The listing states that there were 3 owners of the car. This is miss leading. The first owner, passed on, so the daughter put the car in her name in order to sell it to me. I had to put the car in my name in order to have key's made for the car. I had the car in my garage, and some how the key's got lost and I had to have more made. It's a law in Arizona to have the car and title in your name, so they know the car wasn't stolen. I'm still looking for the original key's... :o( jim

Here is a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with the Rare MSE Mecham Motor Sports Edition package. This is car # 33 in the first year built for these. There is lots of info on the Internet about these rare cars- so I will keep it short- This car was sold brand new at the Mecham Pontiac Dealer in Glendale Arizona and was Equipped from them with the MSE Package brand new. This was a fully optioned Trans Am including the 4 wheel disc brakes and Deluxe interior with all the power options.Mecham adds Special Steering wheel. 160 MPH Speedo, Special rear wing, rear suspension limiters, front crossmember reinforcements, and lots of special badging and decals.- all of the rare Mecham parts are all there on the car except for the original Koni shocks. Basic rundown is this- This car has been off the road since 1998- I still have the 1998 title and the plates on it.It has recently been brought back on line and is now a car that starts, runs, drives, steers and brakes. All the lights work- and it has been looked over and has no major issues mechanically. Suspension, steering and brakes are all operational and working.it has a fresh performance 350 in it with L98 Corvette aluminum Heads, Erson Gear Drive, Edelbrock Intake, Edelbrock Carb, Valve Covers and air cleaner. It has shorty style headers, dual cats and a Flowmaster exhaust. it Runs very good.it has a TH350 Auto trans. This car has no computer or other troublesome components- Runs on a Carb and a standard mechanical fuel pump- so it is cheap and easy to take care of- good basic Hotrod!this car has the 4 wheel disc brakes, big front and rear sway bars and posi traction. The body is all original Panels and has no accidents or other big damage- it is a dry southwest car and has no body rot or rust issues either -nothing more than simple surface rust- This is a very solid car- really great one to restore. It has mostly all original paint- I only see a blend on the quarter and looks like the drivers door was repainted- all of that more than 20 years ago.- otherwise all original paint- The Interior is complete and has new dash pad, MSE steering wheel has been recovered by LeCarra who originally made it, has aftermarket Recaro seats. Interior needs some restoring but it is all there. Power windows are new and work good, AC system is complete but not operational (needs to be converted to R134)- but everything is there and hooked up. It does need some attention with some of the gauges but nothing serious. It has power windows, power rear hatch opener, power locks, Cruise control, Tilt steering, power steering, power brakes, Power Mirrors. It does have a newer stereo that is working too. This car was outfitted with the lower body kit and rare Ronal R9 16 inch wheels back in the 80's or 90's.(I do have the original 15 inch wheels too) -Tires have been replaced with some newer tires and will work for now.Windshield is New and the rest of the glass is in good shape. this car needs to be restored- it needs to be painted, new weatherstripping and the interior finished restoring.- but it does not need any rust repair, no panels need replacing, no major body work needed- so pretty straight forward restoration here. Buy it now for $6900.00 or make me an offer!!!! this car does run but it should be transported to its new home- I have only driven it around the block a few times and not out on the open road as it is not currently registered (off the road since 1998)it will need some things fixed here and there but nothing too big or expensive.feel free to contact me with any questions- if you are serious and want to talk - just let me know. This was my personal project and I have owned it for a few years but I am moving and need to let it go.

I'm selling my 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Indy Pace Car. One of only 1555 ever produced. 34K Miles, box A actual miles title. This is a super rare collector car that most people don't even know exists. While prices of the Buick Grand National GNX's are through the roof, little do they know that these TTA's are more rare, faster, and have a better version of the same driveline! Collectors have started to take notice and prices have started to take off. Hagerty value's these at over $30,000! My collector insurance company insured it for $25,000 without me even giving them a number. I know this will be a solid investment but unfortunately I have a business opportunity coming up that I need to thin the herd for, so to speak. If you don't know, here is some info on these cars and below I pasted an article about the specs, etc. This was the fastest production car of 1989! Faster than the Corvette even. Most rare Pontiac to this day. Only 1555 were made. Rated at 250HP and 340TQ to not overshadow the Corvette but when dyno'd, made over 300HP. I believe they ran the quarter in the 12's stock, and 0-60 times under 5 seconds. That was FAST for '89! It still feels pretty fast to me actually.Ok, so the details on this car. I've owned it for a year, and I had it painted last year but it's not the best paint job. It has a 5 year warranty though. Looks great from a couple feet away but if you know paint then you will see some defects. I also had new decals and emblems put on. They pretty much roughed it up and painted it. It was not stripped to metal and de-trimed. Someone with experience could probably do the fine detailing and make it a lot better but I do not have those skills. Good tires(older though), new front pads, oil and filter, AC charge, hood and trunk struts, hatch pull down motor, spark plugs, new fuel pump, new headlight motors, newer battery, K&N air filter serviced, etc. Runs and drives good. Also included is the window sticker, Turbo shield, Pontiac Historical Society packet on the car with build #, press releases, 20th Anniversary keychain, 2 sets of keys, and an original dealer brochure on the car.The car is NOT perfect. It was in a collectors warehouse in Nevada for some years. I have been fixing it up little by little but there are still small items to finish it. Radio/antenna inop, power lock on driver's side needs greasing, cruise control inop, washer spray lever cracked, rear hatch key cylinder inop, couple little oil drips, shocks need replacing, steering wheel has some covering over the top where there was sun damage. Also, when it's really cold outside you need to let it warm up a minute or two before putting it in gear or the idle goes too low. Once you take off it doesn't do it ever again. Any questions, just ask! I have a lot more photos or if you need anything specific I can take them. Thanks for looking! Also, it's recommended to do all your inspections before bidding as once auction ends, you are expected to pay for item. Thank you, ebay fees are not cheap. Might be open to partial trades plus cash(required).*** Shipping is up to the buyer but I will assist the shipper if I can. Obviously, this is a used car and has no warranty with no returns. Ebay did something weird on my ad and its showing you can use Uship to have it shipped. I'm not familiar with what that is, but its up to the buyer to pay for and arrange their own shipping. I will assist however I can. Here is an article on these cars below: Originally conceived by Bill Owen of Pontiac, the 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am project was outsourced to PAS, Inc., an engineering firm led by Jeff Beitzel. Beitzel and his team did most of the TTA development work. The V6 turbo engines were built by PAS at their 40,000 square foot City of Industry, CA plant. From there, they went to GM's plant in Van Nuys, CA to be installed into GTAs on the F-Body assembly line. The cars were then shipped back to PAS for final assembly, testing, and quality control. Incidentally, the GTA chassis were selected at random, thus there is no correlation between VIN number and production sequence number. The actual number of cars to be produced had ranged from 500 to 2,500 until GM finally settled on 1,500. In all, a total of 1,555 Turbo TAs were manufactured. The 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am was offered as a complete package. Each was white with saddle (tan) interior, with T-tops and leather interior the only available options.Externally, the TTA closely resembles a GTA. The primary visual clues are Indy "Winged Tire" emblems on the ground effects panel just aft of the front wheel wells, and dual twin stainless-steel exhaust tips. Closer inspection reveals "Turbo" emblems on the front fenders, "20th Anniversary" emblems on the nose and B-pillar, and a "Turbo" insignia between the taillights. Inside, a turbo boost gauge is incorporated into the tachometer face, and there is a "20th Anniversary" logo on the leather map pocket. Special Indy Pace Car stickers were supplied for the windshield and doors. What makes the 20th Anniversary Turbo TA so special is that it is a complete mechanical package, and not just some tape stripes. Starting with the engine, Pontiac borrowed Buick's 3.8 liter (231cid) V6 turbo powerplant from the fabled 1986-87 Grand National. Some difference exist between the TTA motor and the GN version. Different heads were necessary in order to squeeze the motor between the strut towers. These heads, adapted from the transverse FWD version of the 3.8 liter motor, have the added benefit of improved exhaust flow and combustion chamber design. Subsequently, different pistons were required in order to maintain combustion chamber volume. Other changes to the TTA motor are a cross-drilled crank, larger 12 fin/inch GNX-style intercooler in place of the GN's 10 fin/inch design, specially-designed stainless-steel headers, higher-pressure Bosch 237 fuel pressure regulator, and a recalibrated engine control module.Mark Grable, writing in the March 1989 Motor Trend, noted the Turbo Trans Am's "250 horses...seem much stronger than run-of-the-mill horses." The reason is simple. Although Pontiac officially rated the engine at 250 HP, in reality it developed an honest 301 HP on the GM dyno. The Turbo TA came with the rare 1LE racing brake package, which upgrades the front discs to 12 inch police rotors, Corvette twin piston aluminum calipers and semi-metallic pads. These brakes are virtually fade proof, and were installed to legalize the 1LE package for Firehawk endurance racing. The rear discs were also increased to 12 inches in 1989 and use Corvette single piston calipers. All of the brakes on the car are of a quick change design, and pads can actually be changed in 30 seconds. The only mid-year change made to the Turbo TA during the entire production run was a redesigned turbo inlet tube. The redesigned plastic tube was more durable, and had a clamping rib on either end to keep the hoses attached more securely. Other production changes in 1989 affected the Turbo TA and F-bodies in general. As an example, in March 1989 GM switched from glass to Lexan T-tops in order to save weight. However, the Lexan tops had severe problems with scratching and cracking, and GM had to replace most of them under warranty. During the 1990 production run GM switched back to glass T-tops after having so many problems with the Lexan ones.Indianapolis 500 Pace CarThe 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am had the honor of being selected as the Official Pace Car of the 73rd Indianapolis 500, held on May 28, 1989. The three cars which did pace car duty were the first in the history of the Indianapolis 500 to do so with no performance modifications whatsoever. The only changes to the car were the usual safety equipment required by Indianapolis Motor Speedway (including a five-point seat belt harness), pace car lighting, and television-related equipment.Strobe lights were installed into the front fog lights, front turn signals, and side marker lights. An additional set of strobes was inserted into the space between the spoiler and decklid. The rear windows were changed to ones with no defogger grid, so the rear-facing ABC television camera would have a clear view of the track behind. In addition to three pace cars, an additional 162 "Festival" TTAs were at Indy for VIP and parade duty. All of the cars at Indy, including the three pace cars, had T-tops and cloth interiors.Approximately one hundred festival cars were sold to GM employees It was not a raffle, an interested employee simply had to fill out a form indicating they wanted the car at that price. Price was non-negotiable, and there was no choice of car. These buyers received cars with anywhere from a few hundred to 7,000 miles on them.As for the three pace cars, one now resides in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, another is in the Pontiac collection, and one was presented to race winner Emerson Fittipaldi. Emerson loves his Turbo TA, when asked about it he grinned "It's a FAST car!"

Very well maintained 1978 Pontiac Trans Am, this is a real TA not a Firebird or Formula. It started its life as a southern California car and hasn’t been out of the Southwest. It was previously owned and maintained by NASCAR Hall of fame driver and current crew chief Bill Sedgwick. The body was repainted only a couple years ago, refinished with multiple coats of clear. The decals were not reapplied at the time, but that can be negotiated into the deal if you want them. All panels are straight and gaps even, no rust on the car at all. The urethane nose piece is in great shape with no signs of shrinkage. It’s equipped with 15 inch Cragars that are in great shape, no blistering or peeling; the tires have plenty of life left on them as well. On the interior, the car came equipped with power widows that function smoothly. It has an updated radio with ipod hook up but the dash was not cut into to install. The carpet, door panels, headliner and seat covers were all replaced. The dash and gauges are in excellent condition, everything works. Under the hood, the 403 cubic inch engine runs amazingly strong, possibly the best running classic car I’ve ever owned. Equipped from the factory with power steering, power brakes and A/C that blows ice cold. Everything is as it should be from the factory, down to all smog equipment still in place and functioning so this car is sure to pass any state emissions test. All suspension components are in excellent condition, the car handles and steers tight with minimal body roll. Overall this is a great driving, real Martinique blue Trans Am, with looks to match Currently the car is located in Scottsdale AZ, I can help arrange shipping if need be. Please call or email with any questions and/or offers

1976 Trans am 400, Auto, 76k actual miles! a/c car. 2 owner car, Numbers matching, Golden rod yellow exterior on Cameo White interior, very rare color combination. The car is in good condition for its age. It is an older restoration, body and paint shows beautifully, weatherstrip and moldings are very good. The dash is perfect with no cracks, JVC cd player runs really well, handles very good. Tires are excellent on it and so are the wheels, Very reliable car, I'm selling this car for my elderly neighbor, I did drive it and it did very well. It's a very attractive car and gets lots of attention, He's open to offers if you're serious I can talk to him. Please inspect it for your own peace of mind. If you have concerns I'll address them the best I can as I'm been the middle guy. I did notice the a/c compressor or just the clutch needs replacing, other then that the car is all there and it seems very nice. Thanks, Chad.

Up for sale is a beautiful 1978 Trans Am. I bought this car off of eBay a year and a half ago and have a lot of fun taking to car shows and cruises. Car shows great and is a blast to drive. I get thumbs up from everyone. The engine is a freshly built 500 hp pontiac 467 cubic inch full roller motor with less than 1000 miles on it. All parts are from Butler Performance!! Engine is a 1973 455 bored .30 over with an eagle 4.25 stroker crank, eagle 6.8 inch h beam rods, ross flat top pistons with total seal rings, performer rpm intake, quick fuel 780 vacuum secondaries carb, and edelbrock 72cc ported and polished heads. Transmission is a turbo 400 with B&M quicksilver shifter and new hughes 2500 stall converter. Rear end is a 10 bolt with 3.73 gears with eaton posi. I also recently bought new Foose wheels and Nitto extreme tires which really set off the car. The wheels are 17x8 in the front with 245/45/17 tires and 17x9.5 in rear with 285/40/17 tires. The car is painted gm quasar blue metallic with a custom airbrushed hood(spectacular and one of a kind) and airbrushed decals on fenders and deck lid.. All airbrushing is clear coated and look amazing. Paint is very nice driver qualiity but has normal blemishes for a paint that is over 7 years old. The interior is like new . Sun roof gives car that old school look plus lets in fresh air and sunlight lol. All original sheet metal, fenders quarters, floors etc…rust free CA car originally. All panels are straight with no dents whatsoever. Trunk looks like new and is spotless. This TA has PS,PW only. No power brakes but manual brakes work fine. Valve covers are really tall so there was clearance issues with booster. I removed wiper motor to give engine bay a super clean all motor look-no clutter. Will include new wiper motor with sale of car. Pictures show a stereo but not hooked up. Have all paperwork for the engine along with build sheet. . I paid 19500.00 for car and have put an additional 5000.00 in motor and another 2000.00 in wheels and tires. Buy it now or make me an offer. Happy bidding and thanks for looking.

It has just over 107,000 mi on it and it runs and drives great. It has a 5.0L TPI motor, 700r4 automatic transmission, and a posi rear end. I have put a good amount of work into it and I have all of the receipts for everything that has been done since I have owned it. The body is very straight and the interior is in pretty good condition. Plus, the t-tops only leak if you go through an automatic car wash. I never have had them leak any other time.Things I have done: New tires New water pump and lower radiator hose New tensioner and belt Replaced all the old vacuum lines Magnaflow high flow catalytic converter & catback exhaust Spark plugs & wires New distributor, cap & rotor, ignition control module Ignition coil Bosch III injectors (recently ran on flow bench and cleaned) Replaced fuel rail & fuel pressure regulator New EGR valve New EGR solenoid New AIR tubing New throttle position sensor New idle air control valve K&N air filter New fuel sending unit, pump, screen, & filter Frequent oil changes New headlight motors Valve cover gaskets Valve adjustment Intake & throttle body gaskets Transmission mount Rear sway bar bushings & end links Panhard bar bushings Coolant temp sensor Intake air temp sensorThings it needs: Front sway bar end links & bushings AC recharge (still R12 system as far as I can tell so may need to be converted) Cosmetics (will need new paint eventually, has clear coat peel on spoiler and driver's mirror) Windshield Replacement (has crack on driver's side) To pass emissions**It runs extremely well but for some reason will not pass emissions. I have changed almost every part and sensor that could affect the system and it still just barely fails.I am asking $3800 and I would really like this car to go to someone who can take care of it. I am continuously working on it and trying to get it to pass emissions so the price may increase accordingly. Thanks for looking!P.S. - Confederate plate does not come with the car and the Magnaflow pipes have been replaced with more stock looking pipes.

Up for sale is a beautiful 1978 Trans Am strip car that has been 90% restored to street specifications. I have owned this car for almost 1.5 years and have spent the better half detuning the engine for better and more reliable street characteristics. The engine previously had 600-650 hp with a cam that built power from 4000-7000 rpm and didn’t hook up until 3500 rpm. Needless to say not ideal for city driving lol! The engine is currently a 500 hp 1973 455 bored .30 over with an eagle 4.25 stroker crank, eagle 6.8 inch h beam rods, ross flat top pistons with total seal rings, performer rpm intake, quick fuel 780 vacuum secondaries carb, edelbrock 72cc ported and polished heads, 1.5 scorpion roller rockers, newl lunati dual valve springs, valve seals, retainers, new comp cams hydraulic roller cam( 288/294, 236/242, 520/540, 110 ), pontiac hydraulic roller lifters, custom chromemoly pushrods 8.75x.116x5/16”, new one piece 3.25” viton dual lip rear main seal, new brass freeze plugs, new durabond pontiac cam bearings, crank turned .10 under with new clevite main and race rod bearings, new performance street harmonic balancer, new aluminum pulleys, new flow cooler water pump, coated super comp headers with 40 series flow master exhaust, th-400 transmission with B&M quicksilver shifter and new hughes 2500 stall converter, 10 bolt rear end with 30 spline moser axles and 3.73 gears with eaton posi, milodon 7qt oil pan, subframe connectors, Competition engineering slide-a-link traction bars, driveshaft safety loop, holley red electric fuel pump with all braided lines, auxillary electric fan to help keep engine cooler when needed. Engine runs fantastic and only has 1000 miles on rebuild. All parts from BUTLER PERFORMANCE ! Paint is very nice driver qualiity but has normal chips and scratches for a paint that is over 10 years old. The interior is like new . Sun roof was added by previous owner. All original sheet metal, fenders quarters, floors etc…rust free CA car originally. Car is all engine with minimal frills-has power steering and windows only. No AC, heat or wipers. No power brakes! Car is now set up with enough vacuum to run power brakes. Have a new wiper motor but like look of engine bay without it. Pictures show a stereo but not hooked up. Have all paperwork for the engine, rear end.lots of receipts and build sheet. Car runs great on race gas but can drive on street with 93 octane….currently run 91 octane with quart of torco fuel accelerator octane boost-readily available on eBay . If you buy collector car insurance through haggerty or like no emissions is necessary. I paid 19500.00 for car and have put an additional 5000.00 in motor and another 2000.00 in wheels and tires. I don’t expect to break even so make me a reasonable offer!
