I have owned this car for 3 years and have loved every minute of it. I am the 3rd owner and purchased it "stored" in a garage, not running. I took it to my local mechanic and he looked it over before investing to get it running. His comment were "this is a Barn find" for any Pontiac fan. The following was done at that time; Install New fuel tank, ALL fuel lines and filters, and injectors Full tune up and ALL fluids changed New battery That was all it needed to run. I registered it then replaced all 4 tires and brakes at the Good year Store. A neat side note: The Goodyear Eagles that were replaced were purchased in 1991 and the sales manager said there was 80% tread left. This was my daily driver until 4 months ago when I bought a truck. Its been parked in a covered/secure garage since with the exception of going to the beach a couple of times. I am selling it because it just sits and needed to be driven. Like all used cars this one is NOT perfect but good for its age. The following are the good and bad: BAD; Rust is starting, so far just surface 2 small rips in the top, one on each side in the same location Fuel Gauge does not work Turn light bulbs are burned out Carpet is complete but in really rough shape Moister does get in GOOD Tight, good running car, will drive anywhere Good straight body Goods interior with the exception of the carpet Unless noted everything works... power windows/locks, power top, radio ALL original not molested including top cover I have never used the cruise control, AC, or tape deck so I don't know if they work. The odometer shows 27,XXX but researching all the paperwork I believe this to be 127,XXX. I do have most of the paperwork since new along with a complete Manual with notes from all owners. The car is in Jacksonville FL and needs to be picked up there. A $500.00 NON Refundable deposit with CASH at pick up. I do have a clean FL title and the registration is current. For sale is my 1990 Pontiac Sunbird. Convertible, automatic, 2.0L 4-cyl, FWD. Convertible top is in good condition, and works well. Timing belt and water pump done at 218k, brakes were done earlier this year. Engine used to burn a little oil but recently the levels have been pretty consistent. Decent mpg, but a kind of small tank, you can get to Philadelphia and back on a tank of gas from Milford. Transmission shifts strong and engine runs great. 220,xxx on the odometer (I'm driving this three or four times a week so constantly being driven), mostly highway. I have the original invoice and window sticker, because this car was only owned by three people. Have some maintenance records but I don't have much from the last two years because it has honestly needed very little. Inspection expires next month. I'm moving to Arizona with my girlfriend in July and can't take both cars otherwise I wouldn't even be thinking about selling this car. It's hands down the most reliable vehicle I've owned, and in the summer it's a blast. Some notes: you'll likely need tires before winter if you plan on daily driving this through the year. The passenger side window gets stuck sometimes. Driver's side is usually fine but isn't 100%. The interior is pretty rough (seat tears, stains), but livable. There's a piece of base trim that fell off last month and I don't have the time to fix, but I'll include that with the car. Also, there's a very small crack in the driver's side directional (still works) - I also have a replacement headlight I'll include. AC needs a recharge. Paint fade, little scratches, some weird noises every now and then - kind of the stuff you would expect from a car that's 25 years old. Car is sold as is. Clean title in hand. You will be responsible for the delivery/picking up of the vehicle. The payment methods I'm accepting are a certified check or cash (in person) and I'm requiring a paypal deposit of $200 within 24 hours of the purchase. 1990 PONTIAC SUNBIRD LE CONVERTIBLE Up for auction is a 1990 Pontiac Sunbird LE Convertible with the original 2.0L OHC 4-Cylinder Engine and 3 Speed Automatic Transmission. 127,980 miles.This car has a current PA State Inspection expiring 6/2015, all four brand new tires with less than 3,000 miles on them and still lots of tread, is great on gas, surprisingly comfortable and easy to drive for a 25 year old economy car, has a clean, well maintained interior, and an aftermarket Kenwood CD Player.So, why am I selling it you ask? Well...The car is in non-running condition due to what I believe is a blown head gasket as well as a worn out piston ring on the #4 piston. The reason I believe the engine has both of these issues is due to excessive amounts of blue smoke coming from the tailpipe, burning high amounts of both antifreeze and oil, constant heavy carbon build-up and oil residue on the #4 spark plug, and now oil spitting out of the throttle body into the air cleaner. The A/C, convertible top, and both passenger windows are not working either. The clear coat on the hood is badly damaged and has largely peeled off.If you decide to rebuild the engine this is still a decent car that easily passes inspection every year. If you decide not to rebuild the engine you still have a good parts car as all body panels are solid (although the doors do exhibit some early signs of rust) with great glass, transmission shifts great, wheels and tires are in great condition, and the interior is clean and in very good condition. This is the third time I've had to list this car after a non-paying bidder from my first listing, and a bidder that claimed to have accidentally bid on the car during my second listing. PLEASE be absolutely sure that you want this car before placing a bid on it or making an offer. I put an new window motor on front driver's side in July 2014 so it works great, the other three windows work but they are slow to roll up. Tagged and inspected until 2015', cars runs and drives great. New black top, body is straight, there is a small bad area on the rear spoiler (not bad but want to make buyer aware since pics does not pick up everything. It has original interior so there are signs of wear on interior seats. The motor is sound and the car does run very good and everything is in working condition.
