The car was purchased new by us from the Pontiac dealer in Oakland, CA in 1989. The car has always been garaged and when we moved to Indiana from the Bay Area in 2007 the car was transported via professional car carrier. Car has never been in the snow or ice of Indiana so rust is not an issue as the car spent most of its life in Bay Area. The car has never been smoked in. The car runs like a bat out of hell with 5 speed manual transmission with very good road response with the performance suspension. Although it has the 5.0 Liter fuel injected (305ci) engine it has plenty of power (the only engine available if you wanted a manual transmission and T-Tops as the 5.7 liter engine would twist the body with manual transmission so all 5.7 Trans-Ams came with automatic transmission only) . We wanted the five speed manual transmission rather then auto trans for the fun of driving a high performance stick shift rather then automatic. The car is has four new Fulda Quantum Elite 245/50zr16 high performance tires which have less then two thousand miles, New Alternator, New Power Antenna motor, New heater core, new fuel injectors, All repairs done by GMC Dealers with OME. The radio has the equalizer and cassette player which sound fantastic, we will include a cassette to put into the cassette player which allows you to plug into your IPod or IPhone to hear your tunes through the cars sound system. The T-Tops are original safety glass (not Lexan) and include the sunblock panels. GM Factory Bra purchased with the car in 1989 includes headlight covers, front hood with Firebird Trans-Am text. Retractable security shade on hatchback is in perfect condition and retracts just like new. The car has been kept in original condition and still has original paint. The stress crack on the spoiler is a common issue associated with the material GM made the spoiler out of. To keep the original aspect of the car we opted to leave it rather then replace with aftermarket fiberglass. You will be hard pressed to find a One Owner 1989 Trans-Am GTA "Knight Rider" which has been pampered and taken care of as well as this one.

78 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.Has the Pontiac 400 not the Olds 403 with an automatic trans. Not T tops. Car has been sitting for several years. I purchased last winter with plans to fix it up. Just too many other projects to concentrate on this one. Runs and drives. Originally a Florida car. Have original build sheet and some other misc paperwork on it. Has 67,549 original miles on the car.Unfortunately when I got the title transferred to my name, they put exempt on the mileage. Original motor. Heads have been replaced at some time. Other than the heads, wheels, and the radio, it is all original including the catalytic converter. Trans Am is not a WS6 or Special Edition. Other than 1 repaint, this car has had no body work done to it that I have been able to find. Condition:Interior:Interior is very nice other than it needs a headliner, rear deck panel, and carpet. Drivers window motor not working currently.Dash is like new. Just needs a little cleaning. Console is very nice other than where speakers are mounted in it. Speakers are still installed and work just fine. They are Boston Acoustics. Door panes are very nice. Body:Body is mostly solid other than the passenger rear quarter panel, trunk drop off, a couple of small spots on passenger fender, and rear window leaks. (see pics)Underbody is very solid. Was rustproofed by Ziebart in Florida back in 1980. Have receipt. Tires need replaced. They do hold air, but tread is gone and has some dry rot. Exhaust is original but is needing replaced. Catalytic converter is original and exhaust is solid up to and past the cat. The pipe going into the muffler and exiting the muffler is rusted apart. Still quiet since the cat is still working. Engine and trans:Original engine runs fine after I put on the new carb. Original carb is in the trunk ready for restoration. I did put new plugs in the car when I swapped the carb. Engine compartment needs detailed. Air conditioner does not work. Compressor is locked up and not hooked up.I put in a new filter and gasket on the trans. Trans shifts fine. New Parts: I have put in a new battery, battery cables, starter, remanufactured carb, radiator, master cylinder, and rear brake cylinders. Have new rubber brake lines still need installed. Overall this is a solid car that needs someone with more time than I have to put into it. Send message with any other questions you have. Can help with delivery depending on distance. The W72 car is rusty and the motor is locked up but is complete and all original accept the wheels, radio, and shift knob. It has 77000 miles on it. Silver with White interior. Non T top and no air conditioning. The silver TA has never had any body or paint work done to it at all. However the floor pans, rear tail pan, and trunk pan all need work.
