Up for sale is this beautiful 1956 Chevy nomad, finished in sierra gold and adobe beige. Having been painted sometime around 1990, it shows a minor amount of patina, but over-all is very acceptable. It has been a California and Arizona car most all it's life and is totally rust free. Engine is an LT1 from a 1995 Trans Am with 1996 Corvette LT4 heads and fuel injection. It is freshly rebuilt with about 5000 miles and runs with no issues. Transmission is a fresh 700R4 and differential is a Ford 8.8 inch with 3.27:1 gears. With this combination the fuel mileage is about 23 on the highway and 20 driving locally.The upper control arms have been replaced with tubular units, steering box is a CPP 500 unit along with dropped spindles with GM style disc brakes. Wheels are 18 and 20 inch Budniks. The interior is redone in original stock style using a kit fromC.A.R.S. Inc. All chrome and stainless are excellent. Guages are VDO, sound system is Kenwood with usb, bluetooth and an external amp. Steering column is from Ididit and steering wheel is 1959 Impala. Pedals are from Lokar. Air conditioning, heat and defrost are compliments of Vintage Air. The spare tire compartment was removed and a custom compartment was made to house the battery and amp for the sound system with a little extra space for a few tools or whatever. As we enter a new chapter in our lives, "Retirement", we will be selling some of our pride and joys. Saying good bye to this rare Nomad is going to hurt! It is a pristine Arizona native that arrives with clear Arizona title from a private seller. We looked very hard for many years to find a clean, quality Nomad and believe this to be one of the best in the world. It was a no issue west coast Nomad that received a no expense spared frame off restoration. As you can see by the honest photo's taken the day of this listing, it is incredibly solid and an investment grade classic. It's never had the need in life for any replacement floor pans nor body mounts. They're All Original and painted, no undercoat, nor black spray bombs. Pure honest quality throughout! It boasts the original 265 CID V-8 attached to the original Powerglide automatic. They both have been rebuilt professionally and are with low mileage, in excellent condition. Some upgrades from original are: Tubular upper and lower control arms with disc front brakes for excellent stopping. Edelbrock 4BBL carburetor and manifold. New "Special Edition" American Racing 17" wheels. A quality aluminum radiator and dual exhaust with resonating glass pack mufflers. The beautiful original style Ciadella interior along with headliner and the exterior fit and finish are excellent. Clear glass, roll and slide like they should. $5000 has been spent on chroming the original metal, rather than installing after market bumpers and trim parts. New wiring. New brakes. This beautiful Nomad was owned by the first owner until 1969. Afterwards owned for 43 years by the second owner, an excellent professional mechanic. The odometer was turned back to zero during the restoration. Today, 840 driven miles since, driving smooth and remarkably on the highway. Extremely well cared for within our collection in a climate controlled environment. All working gauges and lights. The original color paint of Sierra Gold and Adobe Beige have an excellent, deep two stage shine. Panel fitment is excellent.International buyers are welcome. Clear, private seller Arizona title.
