1957 Chevy Bel air convertible project.The car started life as a 2 dr ht and was converted into a convertible. I got this car from Alabama I did not build it! I got it just like it is from a guy that sold me other cars I'm just selling as-is to get some of the money back...anyways here is a chance to get a 57 convertible project at a great price! High bidder gets the car!The car starts and runs and stops in my yard... but its not road ready. The car needs a lot of work! The cowl tag reads like thisStyle 57-1037body V/N 813trim 654paint 802Aacc SGThe car has new floors welded in and lots of metal work and patches all over it. The frame does have X brace welded in. Some trim parts are there but I don't know if all the trim is there or not. It does have new gas tank and line. There is no glass just windshield, the doors do open and shut. The trunk lid is very rusty and does not latch. The hood is not bad but does not have a latch. The bumpers are there but old and have some rust. The engine is a small block I was told a 350 but not verified it does start and seams to run ok, but has no exhaust and it goes into gear and will drive on a trailer it does have working brakes and also has power steering! The bows are there and cylinders and power top motor also there but they will need a lot of work and maybe need replaced. The original VIN tag and cowl tag are there in good shape. Brand new stainless steel brakes lines one of the best custom brake lines bends that follow the motor bay and frame lines I've ever had done by Right Stuff this guy was a artist at bending lines the best at the company and it shows in his work I get compliments on it at shows all the time. My motor bay is so clean you can eat off it, it's as clean as the inside of my car. It gets detailed when the rest of the car does for show.. Never goes out in the rain so no dirt or spotting. All new wiring harness front to rear, New headlights, turn signals lenses and bulbs and cork seals. Factory functioning back up lights all new lenses and seals. Wiper electric motor, This car is water tight new weather stripping seals its water tight no leaks. Motor factory 283 chevy small block V8 all redone new stainless steel Jegs timing chain motor bay fully detailed and upgraded for show new chevy valve covers cool flex chrome hoses, griffin custom made aluminum radiator, new heater core fan and switches cables all works like factory heat defrost air. chrome battery box danchuk power disk brake conversion with chrome custom right stuff power booster and master cylinder. Emergency brake works all new cables and pull handle. New gas tank sending unit and factory restored gas gauge fully operational temp gauge and speedo restored too plus new speedo cable and kick down switch. Custom chrome air cleaner and chrome vented battery box. set up with battery tender battery charger kit. New battery. All new braided stainless hoses from Jegs, all new hoses and belts and stainless clamps. Custom chrome plated factory fan this car runs cool as ice no over heating here. All new stabilizer and air adjustable shocks in the rear. Trunk all redone to show from mat to jack like new gorgeous all new weather stripping as I said water tight front to rear. This car is ready to show or drive mutiple trophy winner over 3 dozen trophies to date. I would drive this car to California tomorrow its very reliable and handles great. New Goodyear wide white 15" tires like factory, vintiques custom chrome wheels with bullet centers and other spinner set if wanted to change out the look for shows. Side winder custom chrome pipes are hooked up and fully functional. It can be taken to factory exhaust with minimal cost if desired. I'm the 3rd owner this car has beek well cared for its whole life. New rear window seal no cracks or chips in all glass. All electrical fully functioning like factory even new door switches and operating courtesy and dome lights its a beautiful driving and show quality car Ive beaten out 2 doors more than once at shows becuase of the quality of the build and details. Bright work on the car is spotless front to rear, all new cowl paint and grill area stainlees bolts last year front all pulled off and painted did it all personally myself it was done right and not slapped together it took 2 weeks alone. All restoration work was done by professionals including paint, mechanical, and electrical work. This car was not butchered up by multiple people only 3 owners the original one his son who started working on the car and me who finished it. I have paper work on it all in 3 folders. The only reason Im selling it is I'm down sizing my cars to one. No disappointments here. Fly in drive it home its ready to go no issues here. Hi I am selling a 1957 Belair original CA car super solid with over $60k invested in custom frame, sheet metal and suspension parts. This is one off chevy I don't think you will find a match at any car show. Main purpose behind this built was to go to SEMA. I have a clean CA title, original vin and cowl tag.. Originally started as a 2nd owner no post car, it was completely taken apart dipped and sealed. The custom frame was built by Richard Rydell certified NHRA chassis builder. The front clip is Kugel SS independent front suspension with polished calipers and tubular a-arms. The rear end was custom built by Currie 9" Ford with disk brakes and coil over shocks, Rear end has posi, over sized bearing and lager axles. This is a full roller with disk brakes and rotors.This car has a custom built roll bar it was tucked up into the roof so headliner can be installed over it and it utilizes A pillars and C pillars to save room inside the car. Once interior is installed most of it will be hidden. The frame is fully channeled into the body will all new interior floors and transmission tunnel. The front A pillars where moved down 2", the front windshield frame and channel was recessed into the cowl and all the sheet metal was reworked to achieve the perfect look. The original glass will be used the size or shape was not changed. The brake booster is already installed under the dash just needs plumbing. I do have another complete bare dash that i was planning to use I will include it with the car. The front windshield wipers assembly is already installed. The rear trim, front and rear bumpers where professionally lead into the body with some hand made sections from sheet metal to save on weight. The rear rims in the pictures are not included with the car if you want them contact me. I have another set that will be included and installed for the new owner they are Budnik with 29x18.50-15LT tires. I have uploaded couple pictures of all the parts that will come with the car. Exhaust was already built from headers back with 2 flowmaster mufflers.
