Up for auction is a beautiful 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. This has been a fantastic car to own and drive. It turns heads wherever it goes and has won many awards. It recently made a trip to Darlington SC without issue and even was able to turn some laps around the track. Car has been garage kept and besides going to Darlington, has only been brought out in good weather on weekends for shows and cruises. Features included on this car: -Reproduction Snowflake Wheels -Retro Reproduction Goodyear Tires -403 Olds Engine -Automatic Transmission -T-tops -Shaker Hood Scoop (opened for air flow) -True Dual Exhaust (Flowmaster) also with electronic exhaust cutouts. This thing sounds like a beast when they are open. -Functional vintage GM factory CB with antenna -Working AM/FM/8 track radio (8 tracks not included in auction). The radio tunes fine but the tuner needle needs to be reattached to the mechanism as it currently does not move. -Power windows Original Stowaway Spare in trunk with inflation can -1979 Pontiac Dealer Product Manual, Car Manual, and other literature included in sale -Pontiac Racing Jacket seen in photos is included in sale -New Door Panels and Steering Wheel installed within last 2 years The exterior paint is absolutely stunning in person but does have some minor imperfections as would be expected with use. The car has been garage kept and well loved. The interior is in good condition but could use some work. There is a dashboard crack which currently has a thermo/clock over it. Some of the interior plastics/surfaces show wear and can be replaced if desired. T-top seals leak and those with the door seals are dry and can be replaced. Engine is in original condition except for plugs/wires/and distributor. The A/C belt is not currently attached so I suspect it does not work but all components are there. 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, 6.6L 403 With Automatic Transmission. Originally Red With Red Interior and all Power Options including Factory Air Conditioning. The car originally came out of Utah and was a running, driving, and fully operable car before being disassembled. During disassembly both build sheets were uncovered along with all original markings and tags through out the car. The car was blasted and then coated with Glasurit Epoxy Primer. A small amount of metal work was needed and 95% of the body work is done and coated in Spies Primer, just finishing details remain before paint. Sub-frame, Rear End and all Suspension was blasted, painted and Energy Suspension Poly Urethane Bushings Installed. The engine compartment, underbody, interior, and trunk have all been coated and finished. BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 tires Mounted on New 17"x9" Snowflake Wheels. Very Nice Trans Am Firebird. I purchased this car 2 years ago and have loved having it but its time to retire from Active Duty and move on. This car has the original LG4 305/5.0L engine with 5 speed trans. Car runs and drives perfect with no pulling or vibrations. The car has T-Tops and the carry case that goes in the hatchback. An unexpected, life changing event has caused me to put my baby up on the auction block for sale here. This car shows exceptionally well, but as with any 28 year old car, there are a few minor blemishes and a couple professionally repaired chips in the paint (very hard to find). The bottom front of the nose has some paint cracking due to flexing fiberglass over the decades, and as with all of these cars, the driver seat bolster shows wear but it is NOT split or cracked through. The wheels are good but do show some crackling of the clear coat on the chrome outside rim areas. All mechanical systems are in good working order, all gauges, lights, antenna, radio, rear hatch pull down motor, steering wheel controls all work. The 20th Anniversary ignition wires have been replaced with MSD wires, but have been kept and will come with the car for originality. The car has a custom embroidered hood insulator, a "show & go" hidden front license plate bracket (state law compliance) and comes with the original laminated window sticker, Firebird owners manual, 20th Anniversary supplemental owners manual, 20th Anniversary door handle inserts and the 20th Anniversary key chain from the 20th Anniversary owners kit.
