The body has some minimal scratches, small cracks on the hood near the scoops and one spot of clear coat peeling on the hood. Also, one small ding on the passenger rear quarter panel. The car passed emissions testing a few months ago with no problem. This is a very good-looking car that drives very well. However, please do not think that it is perfect. It is 18 years old. I love this car but I need to free up some space. In my opinion, this is one of the best body styles that Pontiac ever put together. 1981 Pontiac Firebird Turbo Formula I bought this car in May 2015. This is what the description said when I bought it. I bought this car in 2011 from a gentleman that was restoring the car. He sent it down to Trans Am Specialties in Florida where they did and amazing job redoing the body. I have a book which I will include with the sale of the car that shows them dissembling the car and restoring it. The paint on the car looks a mile deep. They replaced the door seals and t-top seals, new door seal plates, The interior looks awesome he had the seats re-upholstered, new carpet, new headliner, door panels are original look good except for the chrome strip is peeling some. The center console is average condition which I was going to replace when I got time so it would match the rest of the car for quality wise. The car rides on BF Goodrich tires, He had Trans Am Specialties change out the wheels from the turbine to the deep dish honey combs. The wheels have no corrosion but the cleat coat seems to be spider cracking some, Bryan started restoring the mechanics of the car when I believe he was forced to sell the car because of a divorce, so mechanically the car is in original condition. He ordered the Pontiac historical information packet for the car so there is a copy of the original window sticker, a brochure from 1981, and he assembled what was left of the build sheet. Why so much?This has been a long term project car where a lot of time and money has been put into this car and I do not have the time anymore. It was my daily driver for a while. Rebuilt 350 small block bored .040 over, Edelbrock performer intake, Edelbrock 1406 4 barrel carburetor, New Monster 700R4 Transmission, Hedman long tube headers, runs 3" true dual exhaust with Moroso glass packs, factory LSD in the rear end. Runs and drives great Was my daily driver for the last 2 years. Mileage: Rebuilt 350 Engine has about 3500 miles on it and Transmission less than 1500 miles. Gets about 10 MPG in town. 12 to 15 MPG on the highway. Issues:Only real issues with the car are the temp gauge stopped working and the oil pressure sensor is leaking. It needs the front bumper cover put on. I have a front bumper cover ( in a different color) but have yet to find the time to put it on. I also have the correct turn signal housings. 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Smokey and the Bandit tribute. Extremely clean and very well taken care of 82 TA. Tip Top, this trans am is a very fun and reliable vehicle. Mechanically sound this car will get you anywhere you need to go. Powered by a 305 v8 and a 3 speed transmission. Both were recently professionally rebuilt. Paint is the original black which I would rate a 7 out of 10, however an argument can be made for a 8.5 out of 10 considering the year and the fact its original paint. The interior is in very good condition with the exception that some of the plastic moldings in the back seat area are showing some wear and the carpet is a little worn. Nothing funky, just a little thin in some spots however I'm very picky. All gauges work and the dash has no cracks and is 100% immaculate. After market stereo. The door panels are perfect just like the rest of the console. This TA has power seats with all functioning knobs and switches. She has no rust on the body or the frame. This 82 is clean from top to bottom. The T-Tops are close to perfect and work with a 100% functionality. This not very common Trans Am really turns heads everywhere. This was a project car of mine that I was inches away from completion when my company went under, which forced me into a personal bankruptcy because of how the corporation was structured. I had a 1980 Formula Firebird in high school and always had regretted selling it when I left for the military. That prompted me last year to start building the ultimate Firebird with the same year body style. Now I have to sell it, but one day I will get to do it again with a clean slate. Just need to find the right home for it now. So about the car... The body is a 2nd generation F-body (1970 to 1981) and the condition of it is near perfect. There are no visible dents or bending in the body panels. The undercarriage is completely rust-free and the frame is in great shape as well. The wheels are original 17" x 9" snowflake style with gold painted recesses which are worth $900 alone. All models this year came equipped with air-inflatable rear suspension, which with the schrader valve underneath the trunk, can raise the the tail end up considerably which adjusts the comfort of the ride to your liking. The interior is original with power windows, red cloth seats, black carpet and headliner, red vinyl door panels, and red console, red steering wheel and red dash. The trunk still has the protective carpet lining as well. The engine is a rebuilt to performance spec 1976 Pontiac 400 cu. big-block V-8, which I painted metallic rust color. I bought a "Dude-Scoop" from Rick's Auto online to eliminate the true shaker head which hid the whole engine. The Dude-Scoop is a scoop that sits high enough to house a chrome engine filter while instead of attaching to the carburetor like the original shaker, mounts to the underside of the hood. The engine features flat head pistons, a Ram IV performance cam, Edelbrock chrome valve covers, Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock 650 carburetor that is jetted down 2 for altitude, Flowtech ceramic headers, and a custom dual exhaust made by BDM Exhaust here in Denver, Colorado. Unfortunately I had to incorporate catalytic converters in order to pass emissions (which I never had a chance to attempt anyway). Obviously the cats are easily cut out after inspection anyway. They don't really make much of an impact anyway because I am getting close to 450 HORSEPOWER!!!!! So the things that I haven't finished yet... The urethane body parts such as the front and rear bumpers could use a paint coat with the proper type. Whomever repainted this car didn't use the flexible type, so it has cracking and chipping.The car hood and trunk spoiler could use repainting. There are a few areas with chipping. Again, nothing major. The scoop hasn't been sanded, primed or painted yet.Chrome trim work needs to be fastened better with new clips.The interior vinyl door panels should be replaced with the handles too. Dashboard is cracked. These items you can see in the pictures.Regarding the interior, if I had the funds I would recover the seats with vinyl. This isn't necessary, though. They aren't torn, I just prefer new clean "pleather" look.The emergency brake cable needs to be replaced. It doesn't work currently. The gauges need to be checked and replaced if necessary. The only one that I know of needing replacement is the tachometer. Air conditioning isn't present in this car. It has the connections ready to go, just no compressor kit and radiator. The power window motors probably need replacement. They open and close at a snail's pace. Really, the only two repair items that present a cost impact are the painting and the AC installation (which is an option, not a requirement). This car is my baby. I hate to see it go, but now it is time to man up and save my family, even if it means taking a hit on my investment. Best of luck bidding! -N
