DO NOT BE AFRAID TO OFFER AN AMOUNT! I WILL BE TAKING OFFERS UNTIL MARCH 1st! I will take offers and think them over! If I do not accept your offer right away I might contact you later and accept. If someone pays the BUY IT NOW it is theirs! I realize the price is set high but I don't just want to give this car away after all the work I put into it. It is not flawless by any means and could use some more work on this car. It is not easy to obtain such a car. This car in my opinion needs a good paint job and there is some dents and dings that need to come out. I would even suggest putting a bigger motor in it even though this motor works perfectly well. Under the hood looks like a somewhat new car. It is crazy the shape this car is in for how old it is. So with all of that in mind feel free to send offers. On March 1st if I don't have a BUY IT NOW I will contact the highest offer I received. DONT BE AFRAID TO MAKE AN OFFER I WILL CONSIDER ANYTHING ... STARTING AT $20,000. This is it! You don't find many of these on the road today! This is a 1982 Pontiac Firebird S/E model that I spent two solid years redone as Kitt from Knight Rider. It is a little hard to let him go. He is not very happy about it but it was a project that I wanted to see if I was capable of doing. I don't consider myself a mechanic but I do consider myself good with electrical work. So I decided to embark on this project since I have a love affair with this television show. So I bought this car on EBAY. I spent two years doing this at home. This car is not a perfect replica by no means but it is a nice one. If you check out all the photos you will see that it still looks pretty amazing. It isn't like you can just go to the store and go home and build this. Most of the materials and items in this car were bought on here and elsewhere from Italy and Canada. There must be over 200 wires that connect this and that together. I have rocker switches that can turn on everything from the little tv sets to dimming the lights in the dash. This car has a Nintendo System with Knight Rider the video game. With a flip of the switch the tv comes on and the game Knight Rider plays. The car looks and feels like a space ship and driving it is very fun. I spent a little too much time with wiring. Quick Disconnects on almost everything. Under the fiberglass dash is the original gauges which still work. The odometer and all. The digital dash has real working components such as gas gauge that works and much else. The tachometer is perfect. The only problem I have found is with the speedometer. It isn't perfect. It gives you a general idea what speed your going but it still needs adjustment. It doesn't register the speed until you get around 30 mph. Every other electrical component works flawlessly. Lights, dash, center console, I have wired this car in so many ways to work. It was a job. The steering wheel is truly fun! It is so easy to drive the car with. I can imagine someone is going to ask me why I did not have the pods behind the steering wheel and it is because I wanted this car to be able to maintain an ability to use a circular steering wheel in case you needed to have one. Turbo boost button has been screwed onto dash and beeps when pressed. Has an antennae for the right side lcd tv that can pick up tv stations. The left lcd tv has nintendo. The dummy gauges that kitt on the show had scan back and forth. It is a fun car. THIS CAR WOULD BE GREAT AS A SHOW CAR! Yet it can be driven on the street. I wanted to keep the front nose of the car which is not the same on the show because of crash impact. It is urethane and is safer in case you get in an accident and the integrity of it is very nice. I couldnt see spending the extra cash for something that would be fiberglass. If you buy this car this can be your call for replacing it. I actually hand cut acrylic sheets that are about half inch thick for the panels that cover the turn signals. I made it so you could still see the lights flash through it so it would be street legal. I love the vintage rear end of the car. I couldn't black it out. If you decide to do so that is your call. I think it looks great as is. This car is just fun to drive and the kids and attention you get is crazy. Does Kitt talk?Yes through a CD PLAYER I put in the car I have pre-recorded voices from the tv show that I put on a cd and kitt's voice box reacts to his voice or any music you play in the car. I will be including the cds for you. You can also hook up an ipod or another device. I have left wired a power supply under the driver seat in case you would like to use a tablet with voice recognition for making kitt talk. I did have voice recognition and kitt would actually talk to you. The problem is ... was that kitt would hear his self and talk back to himself. It didn't work out well. Maybe you can do better? :) SO i left it simple with kitt's voice coming through the speakers with the pre recorded Kitt voices. If you can memorize what he will say you can talk back and it seems he is talking along with you. Fun with kids :) Does it have a digital odometer as well?Yes it does... it is not quite accurate but it is very close. You will see that the numbers are off to the real analog odometer that can be found under the dash. How is the Title?I bought this car 2 or 3 years ago on here and the title was clean and I have the exact same title from the gentleman I bought it from on Ebay. A car this old does not have to have a title is what I was told at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Insurance is very cheap on this car. I would suggest getting Classic Car Insurance since it is worth to a collector much more. THIS KITT REPLICA DOES NOT HAVE T TOPS? No, there is no T Tops on this car. It is hardtop. I was thankful actually because I didn't want to deal with leaking t -tops but it does take away from the replica feel I suppose but it did not matter for me. WHAT I HAVE REPLACED SINCE HAVING: BRAND NEW RADIATOR NEW AC SYSTEM including R-134 conversion NEW COMPRESSOR FOR AC NEW CONDENSER FOR AC NEW ACCUMULATOR FOR AC NEW HOSES (many) NEW SENDING UNIT IN FUEL TANK REPLACED ALL FUEL HOSES WITH HIGH GRADE FOR FUEL INJECTION IN CASE A CONVERSION EVER HAPPENED MADE NICE TRAP DOOR FOR FUEL TANK in case you needed access Replaced the rear trunk quarters upholstery MOTOR RUNS GREAT TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTH WHAT IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS CAR: A LOT! It has style! LED SCANNER ON FRONT THAT CAN BE ADJUSTED TO ALL KINDS OF PATTERNS!!! THE DASH will light up everyone who sees it!Kitt talks through his speaker behind voicebox! ALL THE COOL BUTTONS! NINTENDO NES SYSTEM WITH GAME GENIE WITH KNIGHT RIDER GAME! WORKING TV THAT PICKS UP STATIONS! ALL THE VARIOUS ROCKERS THAT OPERATE ALL THESE COOL OPERATIONS! INTERIOR IS NICE! LOOKS GREAT FOR ITS AGE! BODY STRUCTURALLY IS REALLY GOOD FOR ITS AGE! MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION WORKS GREAT!CRANKS AND RUNS GOOD THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND ALL THE DASH PIECES ALL COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!!! THERE IS A LOT OF STUFF HERE.THE DIGITAL DASH INSTRUMENT GAUGES ARE ALL MADE OF STEEL!!! THINGS WRONG WITH CAR:I am a very overly honest and perfectionist type of person so here is what I find wrong: Car is in very good shape for age. It does have some dents and dings here and there so check out all the photos. There is a small dent on the hood on passenger seat side closer to the glass. There is a few dents along the driver door of the car. Also as can be seen in the photo there is some paint peeling off the rear driver side of bumper. Once again it needs a paint job. Hood was weak on one side and had to put some painted steel plates in to give more support. Exhaust leak around muffler ... corrosion at tail pipe around muffler. Needs welding job.Actually there is very to little rust on this entire car. I actually spent much time spraying the underside to prevent future corrosion.Roaring noise in the rear ... have no idea what or why but car drives fine otherwise. This car needs a paint job. It is o ...k ... but it is flat. It needs a shiny new paint job. That is about it really. Truly is a nice car for its age. Had the differential oil checked and was told it looked like this car was brand new. The mechanic couldn't believe how clean it looked. The driver seat has a torn in it. Please check out the photo that shows that as well. There is dings, scrapes, imperfections in kitt's dash as can be expected from use. SO WHY AM I SELLING?Well to be honest I don't feel that comfortable driving such a big car. I have lived my entire life driving tiny cars like VW beetles and Toyota corollas. It's big and clunky for me. That is me. I did this because in my opinion this is a beautiful car and I wanted to take on this electrical challenge. It was a HUUUGGGEEE JOB! I wouldn't do it again. I am glad and proud of it but it was a hugggeee job. LOL! I am not a mechanic. I never owned a carburetor and don't really feel comfortable driving a car with one. If it was me I would probably eventually drop a nice Corvette motor in here instead. 6 cylinder is a little slow for this size car. I can imagine someone will buy this car will upgrade the motor in it. Turn it into a BEAST OF A SHOW CAR! I would love for someone to come see me and check this car out before committing to buy. Please I can show you how everything works from the interesting buttons to general driving of this car. See before committing. It is a truly unique and beautiful car! I have videos of kitt talking and the front scanner I can send to your email address please ask if you would like to see.

Professionally done paint, Rally wheels, black buckets, a 4-speed transmission, dry climate ownership, and matching numbers make this 2-owner T/A one to take home. Sterling Silver is a great color with an even better name. Silver 'Birds are especially cool thanks to their contrasting decals-that bright red and black screaming chicken on the hood just stands out in a sea of red, white, and especially black cars. With its red accents it looks exactly as Pontiac intended: halfway between full 1970's funky and demonically possessed. The bumpers, so frequently twisted and warped by time and heat, are in great shape here. The original tinted glass is clean, as are the taillights and trim. Panel gaps are better than average, and the bodywork was done to a high standard within the last few months. There are new door and trunk seals as well as new window felts, so it seals up well and doesn't rattle down the road like some of its siblings. Standing back and taking the car in as a whole is an easy way to see why Pontiac moved more than 27,000 Trans Ams in 1975, nearly a threefold increase over 1974. Pontiac's pony car was on its stratospheric rise to 1970's royalty. Inside, the correct red vinyl interior is in excellent shape and looks like a million bucks. New seat covers from Legendary are supported by fresh foam padding underneath. Full instrumentation was standard on Trans Ams, and the dials look great set in to the engine-turned instrument panel. The dash pad is in great shape as is the center console, both of which appear to be original. There's a Formula steering wheel in your hands, power windows at your disposal and a new Retrosound AM/FM stereo radio in the dash. And yes, that's a manual transmission, which is always a welcome sight in a car that presumes to be a performance machine. Trans Ams have a comfortable ride and some of the best handling of their era, and a car like this is pleasure to drive. You even get a good-sized trunk, which is in excellent condition and only in need of a new mat. Under the hood is the original, numbers-matching 400 cubic inch V8. It's not just the block that matches, because this one was fully rebuilt to stock specs and runs great. You'll see a very nicely detailed engine bay that looks pretty much the way Pontiac did it in 1975. That means corporate turquoise paint on the block, standard steel valve covers, and that big hood scoop up top. There's a proper Quadra-Jet carb living underneath and things like the belts, plugs, wires, alternator, and battery were recently replaced. The original cowl tag is in place and confirms the car's options, and the finishes are nicely done and correct throughout. The chassis was cleaned and detailed but remains largely original, including the red oxide primer on the floors. A new dual exhaust system sounds suitably burly and there's a new gas tank hanging out back. Restored Pontiac Rally II wheels wearing 225/70/15 BFGoodrich tires are at all four corners, and fill the wheel arches perfectly. This car was in the original owner's family until last year, and spent its entire life in Arizona. If you want a clean mid-70s Trans Am, they really don't come much nicer than this. Cars like this are typically reserved for nice weather play and while time has passed and Pontiac is no longer with us, this car represents the top-of-the-line performance machine from the Excitement Division and it still delivers on every front with a nasty turbocharged engine that really brings the thunder. The bright white paint is in great condition and makes the potent WS6 look clean and unassuming. The WS6 added a bunch of performance upgrades, including the ram air hood, which added two snorkels to the Trans Am's already intake-covered fascia. Folding headlights, round fog lamps up front, ground effects, and a cool 1-piece wing out back were all included, and they give Pontiac's top performer a very aggressive look. The paint on this car is original, which means it's 16 years old, but you can see that this car has been loved its entire life and someone probably spent a lot of Saturday afternoons cleaning, polishing, and detailing the bodywork. It has not been wrecked and it's certainly never been a winter car, so it's clean and straight. Both doors close with a reassuring THUNK and the hood and rear hatch fit quite well. Even the large Firebird nose cone and urethane rear bumper are tight and uncracked, a testament to careful living. And with the black T-tops and tinted glass, the car takes on a fighter plane look that's still very appealing. Pontiac built some of the best driver's compartments in the performance business, with deeply sculpted power bucket seats that really hold you in place. The leather upholstery is in very good condition with only light signs of wear, and everything else looks fresh. The carpets are protected by matching floor mats and the door panels don't even show a mark from the driver's elbow resting on the sill. You'd expect a car with T-tops to have some UV damage, but not this one; the dash, the console, and all the soft parts are still in great shape. The gauges are big, bright, and easy to read, and there are auxiliary gauges along the A-pillar to monitor the boosted engine's vitals. There's also a thumping stereo system with dual 10-inch SDX Audio subwoofers in the trunk that work in conjunction with the factory AM/FM/CD head unit. The factory LS1 engine was a great performer in its day, but today you need more to compete with the 500+ horsepower factory offerings. With that in mind, this car sports a Squire rear-mounted turbocharger that pushes boost through a Weiand aluminum intake manifold. The LS1 shrugs off the boost, and cranks out a serious low-end torque hit that's intoxicating. The setup is a little unconventional but you can't argue with its effectiveness. Power is channeled through a 6-speed manual gearbox and in sixth gear, it just loafs along, munching on boost, always ready to fly. The WS6 suspension is up to the task of all that extra horsepower and it's been fitted with giant 20-inch wheels and 275/35/20 Nitto radials. The highly-desirable WS6 paired with a turbo makes for a serious performance machine. The turbo setup alone cost a substantial fraction of the asking price, making this Trans Am one heck of a performance bargain. Unlike posers such as the Mustang II and even the Trans Am's stable-mate, the Camaro, the guys at Pontiac were still building legitimate horsepower. These cars are finally coming into their own as legitimate collectors' items, and given the wide variety of pretty blah colors in the 1970s, getting one in glossy black is always the right choice. This one was repainted in 1982 and still looks spectacular with only minor signs of age and use, none of which detract from the overall look. They used correct code 19 Starlight Black paint and fresh blue decals, and it looks as dazzling today as Burt's car did rolling out of the trailer, causing Jerry Reed to exclaim, "Ho ho ho!" when he first laid eyes on it. The finish is lustrous, the reproduction decals are exact in every way, and as car that's always been someplace warm, the original body panels are super straight. Go ahead, look at this car and tell me you can't see it spinning its tires all over those southern highways. There's even a little stub of an antenna on the deck lid, maybe just a reminder of the good old days of CB radios. This one also sports a black vinyl interior, which is 100% original and 100% amazing. With just some gentle use marks on the seat covers and a small tear in the driver's seat, the buckets are just as comfortable as they look. The carpets are still dark, the door panels show virtually no wear, and the dash pad hasn't been baked by the sun over the past three and a half decades. Engine turned panels dress up the instruments, which give a complete view of the engine's operation, and remarkably enough, everything works including the clock! This is a legitimate performance car, because there's a 4-speed shifter in the center console, just a few inches from the fat leather-wrapped steering wheel. I'm guessing Burt's car was an automatic, despite the soundtrack suggesting otherwise. You also get a modern AM/FM stereo radio in the center stack and a nicely finished trunk that still holds the original space-saver spare with inflator kit. Next to the Corvette, the most potent machine in America was the Trans Am, thanks to the Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Nicely detailed, but not so the originality was buried, it shows careful maintenance since it was new and most certainly the hands of caring owners who knew they were keepers of a very special flame. There are no modifications, not even to the hood scoop, which was more cosmetic than functional. It does, however, have a modern dual exhaust system that sounds great and surely frees up a few extra horsepower along the way. The transmission and original rear end have never been opened, just kept in top condition with regular fluid changes. The suspension is surprisingly capable, and there were few other cars better suited to getting out of trouble than the Trans Am. The floors on this one remain in good order, the suspension and brakes are tight, and those beautiful Rally II wheels wear recent 225/70/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. Go back and watch the movie, and I think you'll find both the film and the car have aged pretty well. This T/A is a heck of a lot of fun and will make you an instant celebrity anywhere you go. Up for sale is a very nice 1999 Pontiac Trans am WS6 Formula Edition  From what I know these are very rare. and only a few were pulled off the line for both the Formula and WS6 Package. I have not personally owned this car for a long period of time. I actually got it in a trade on another one of  my cars The car is lightly modified. I know for sure it has the following modifications: Full Exhaust Headers Larger Injectors Hurst Short Shifter Upgraded Camshaft I was told the engine was re-built recently but I have no paperwork on it. You can tell the block has been painted so it has been replaced or rebuilt at some point. The T-Tops do not leak, Everything Electrical seems to work. Sometimes it's hard to open the rear hatch without someone back there opening it. The interior is maybe a 5 our of 10. both seats have tears and the bezel around the radio is broken which I may replace The car has C6 Corvette Wheels, Good Tires and new brakes all around. The transmission shifts good. Sometimes its hard to get into reverse but that is normal the the hurst shifter. I would recommend a good tune on the car.  If you have any more questions feel free to give me a call (706) 994-5202

1990 Firebird Formula, 5.0 TPI, WS6, T-Top. This is a running and driving "project" car. I have recently changed the oil, changed cap rotor and plugs, replaced fuel pump, replaced 2 injectors and invested in a matching set of 255/50/16 Yokohama tires which is the largest tire that you can run on the stock wheels. The body on this car is very good with only one very minor dent in the left rear quarter (see last photo). There is no rust to speak of. The motor runs and idles good and I have had the compression checked and the motor is healthy. Mechanically the car still needs shocks all the way around, sway bar bushings, headlights don't go up and down, windshield is cracked and will need to be replaced. Cosmetically the interior is in poor condition although it is all there. The carpets, headliner and sun visors will all need to be replaced. The dash cap is cracked. The seats are good with no rips or tears. The wheels are in good overall condition and have not been curbed as most have. The car needs paint as it is on its original paint job. The original color is still on the car and is factory brilliant red. All in all this will make a great project for someone. 1990 was the lowest production year for the firebird. There are not a lot of these laying around any more and if you have been watching the market they are starting to head north following the 2nd Gen cars. If you have owned one of these in the past then you know how well they handle and how much fun they are to drive with the tops out.

One of the greatest factory sleepers to come out of GM, this is also a very well-preserved, totally stock piece of GM history that deserves a place of honor in your collection. The off-white paint on these cars is beautifully subtle and the soft color is the perfect way for this apex predator to hunt out in the open. In GM tradition, the pace car decals were shipped separately and they were never installed on this car, so it's quite easy to slip under the radar with it. And like all instant collectables, this one has led a very easy life and has always been treated as something special, most visibly in its ultra-low 4267 mileage reading. The paint is 100% GM-applied, the bodywork underneath is as the factory did it, and even the rear wing (which was noted for cracking) is in excellent condition. There are a few signs of age, which are pretty much impossible to combat, but overall this is a show-quality car that has been carefully maintained to keep it in top condition. All the gold Indianapolis 500 badges are bright and crisp, the weather seals are supple, and we're guessing that the T-tops have never been off the car and they seal up beautifully. Tan upholstery was standard in the pace cars, but the leather found in this one was optional, making this car the one to own. There are some very, very minor signs of use but otherwise it remains in showroom fresh condition throughout. I'm sure someone has spent some time behind the wheel, but there's no scuffing on the outer bolsters and you'll note that the factory plastic wrap is still protecting the carpets. The Turbo came loaded with just about everything you could imagine, including A/C, power windows, locks, mirrors, and seats, cruise control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system with equalizer. It all works, of course, and if those floor mats somehow get dirty, there's a spare set in the trunk along with the original pace car decals, which have never been opened. The reason these cars were so special is because they united GM's most potent powerplant the (grossly under-rated) turbocharged Buick 3.8 liter V6. Finally, the blown torque factory that made the Grand National was given a home in a car with the suspension and brakes to fully take advantage of it. Sure, the marketing department was careful to keep output under the Corvette, but the truth is, this car is still scary fast, even 26 years later. And despite all the upgrades available for the GNs to turn them into true monsters, this one remains 100% stock to preserve its investment potential. A 2004R 4-speed automatic transmission was the only choice, since there were no manual transmissions at the time that could handle the torque, but its quick reflexes and deep overdrive make this car a no-compromises performer. It's also got 4-wheel disc brakes, a suspension that actually corners as well as launching in a straight line, and 16-inch alloy wheels that still wear their original 245/50/16 Goodyear "Gatorback" performance radials. Documented with the original window sticker and a special portfolio that includes parking permits from the 1989 Indy 500, suggesting that this car was part of the festival, this is a sure-fire future collectable that also happens to be a fantastic car to drive. I have a 1976 Pontiac Firebird for sale - one owner. The car itself has 119,545 miles on the body and the original rebuilt 350 engine only has approximately 19,000 miles on it. The car runs and drives in excellent condition for its age. Mostly storage and garage kept (except most Sundays). The interior of the car is all original stock and in mint/perfect condition (black leather). This was my grandfather's car and growing up he and I did any work on it that was needed. Thus being said, he was the only/original owner since 1976 when he first bought the car. There are no leaks and all exterior and interior lighting works. For the age of this car and the engine it has, there are not many out there for this price. **$9,800 OBOReason for sale: I really don't want to sell the car, but I drive a 8.1L Big Block Chevy Truck and I need a secondary "gas saver" for my commute to school and work.I have this car listed at $2000 under NADAGuide average retail price and this car is definitely above average. With a little cosmetic changes and some TLC this is easily a $20000+ car. **I am asking $9,800 OBO. So don't be afraid to make me an offer. You can call or text (preferred) anytime at (678) 863 - 0452. My name is Jay.

Unlike posers such as the Mustang II and even its stable-mate, the Camaro, the guys at Pontiac were still building legitimate horsepower. Of course, you wouldn't bring a knife to a gun fight wearing bright red with a big black bird on your hood, so the T/A definitely brought the thunder along with its outrageous look. With values growing rapidly on these fun '70s icons, this one sticks to the factory formula. It had a cosmetic freshening several years ago that included new code 75 Buccaneer Red paint and fresh decals, and although not perfect, it looks as dazzling today as Burt's black car did rolling out of the trailer, causing Jerry Reed to exclaim, "Ho ho ho!" The finish is very good, the reproduction decals are exact in every way, and as a southern car all its life, the original body panels are super straight. Go ahead, look at this car and tell me you can't see it spinning its tires all over those southern highways. And while the black cars were a slam-dunk for Pontiac once that movie came out, owning this Buccaneer Red one is a mark of distinction that you're a true Pontiac fan and only care about the hardware. It's also considerably rarer than basic black today, so if you want to stand out, this is one heck of a way to do it. This one also sports a code 19N black interior, which appears to be almost entirely original and still looks amazing today. With just some gentle use marks on the seat covers, the seats are just as comfortable as they look. The carpets are still dark, the door panels show virtually no wear, and the dash pad hasn't been baked by the sun over the past three and a half decades. Engine turned panels dress up the instruments, which give a complete view of the engine's operation, and the console with its shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission underneath. This one also sports an unusual state-of-the-art AM/FM stereo, a working clock, a tilt steering column, rare cruise control, as well as factory A/C that sill blows cold. Wow! In addition, the trunk is clean and includes what appears to be the original mat. Next to the Corvette, the most potent machine in America was the Trans Am, thanks to the numbers matching Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8 under the hood. It's clean and with a few matching Buccaneer Red touches like the giant hood scoop, it looks great under the hood. Things like the hoses, belts, and wires appear to be recent and the A/C still uses good old R12 for best results. The suspension is surprisingly capable, and there were few other cars better suited to getting out of trouble than the Trans Am, even with highway-friendly 2.56 gears out back. The floors on this one remain solid, the suspension and brakes are tight, the recent dual exhaust system sounds properly muscular, and those beautiful snowflake alloys wear 225/70/15 BFGoodrich white letter radials. Go back and watch the movie, and I think you'll find both the film and the car have aged pretty well. This T/A is a heck of a lot of fun and will make you an instant celebrity anywhere you go. This is my 1988 Pontiac Firebird. It is in very good condition for its age, as it's an all original car. The warranty information is still in the dash pockets. It has glass t-tops with the inserts and the bag is still there. It has the 2.8 v-6 engine and automatic transmission. This car only has 130K miles. I have just put over $700 into this car and have the receipts to prove it. It has a brand new gas tank, fuel pump, strainer and filter. I was going to keep this car, but due to my financial condition, I am forced to sell. The bird on the hood should be replaced as it is heavily faded and starting to peel. It has a small skip right now that should be able to be fixed with new spark plugs and wires, and the left rear tire goes flat over time, but nothing that can’t be fixed with a plug. About six months ago, I lost all of my keys, including the ones to this car. I did have a spare door key at home, but not an ignition key. Instead of paying a locksmith $150; I simply took the tumblers out of the ignition, and now it will crank without a key. So if you’re real picky, you will need to purchase an ignition lock which will run you about $35 on ebay used. This is not a Vats key car like the newer camaros and firebirds, so you will not have any problems there. The pull down trunk latch works great and pulls down every time. Some other minor problems include the a/c needing to be recharged; the right side headlight does not come up because of a vacuum leak; and the left side on the bumper needs to be painted; the rear seat bottoms are heavily ripped, but all in all nothing you shouldn’t be able to fix yourself over a weekend. I strongly encourage you to come inspect and drive the car for yourself. Clean paperwork (e-bay won’t let me say the “T” word) in hand. I am a little negotiable on the price, so send all offers.

The market is moving on these cars, and this high-visibility example still carries its matching-numbers drivetrain. Recently repainted in its original color combination, this Firebird is exactly the opposite of subtle. Forget all the jokes about flying chickens on the hood, because this one has a clean, chiseled look that suggests horsepower without the added graphics. It was a clean, honest car before the repaint, too, and has ended up as an ultra-sharp reminder of what performance was like in the '70s. Gaps are good all around, and Pontiac gave it a great look with a modest chin spoiler, a pair of hood scoops, and a ducktail spoiler out back, all of which remain in excellent shape. The paint is two-stage urethane, so it has a great shine that's virtually indestructible, and the black lower edges emphasize the length of the car, making it long and low. It's not perfect, of course, but it's got an awesome look that'll stand out among all the Trans Ams you see at shows. White buckets were the best way to travel in 1976, and the classic color combination ensures that this Poncho will always be in demand by collectors. The seats are comfortable and supportive thanks to fresh foam underneath, and the seat covers themselves are exact reproductions that show very little wear since the restoration. The center console houses the original shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission as well as a handy storage bin, and the gauges look quite good considering their age. The original AM radio is still in the dash, but today entertainment comes from an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit neatly stashed in the glove box. The trunk is highly original and includes the original mat which is a bit tattered but these days, originality matters. While a lot of engines were down on horsepower in the mid-70s, Pontiac engineers were better than most at keeping their top engines at the top of the horsepower charts, and the 350 cubic inch V8 in this Firebird is a good runner. This is the original, numbers-matching engine and runs great, so it's ready to enjoy without worries. It wears Pontiac Turquoise paint, a Rochester 4-barrel under the original air cleaner, and an all-new exhaust system with a high-flow catalytic converter and transverse muffler. The chassis is in good order thanks to a lifetime in the south, and a set of reasonable gears in back make it an effortless cruiser. Wheels are the traditional Pontiac Rally IIs which have been painted to match the body and wear 235/60/15 BFGoodrich radials at all four corners. Five years ago, we told you that this day was coming, and now it's here. '70s Firebirds are red hot and climbing the market faster than almost anything else.
