This is a Mercedes wagon W123 body style that has been well maintained and is in very good condition. It has the OM617 solid steel diesel engine that has proven to be very reliable and can be run on diesel, biodiesel or WVO (waste veggie oil). She is smooth running and starts right up even after sitting for weeks. The transmission is 4 speed manual (which is very rare for these models) and also has the euro style manual windows instead of the electric windows. She will run at 80 mph for days and she will get 25-30 mpg. I would comfortably drive her cross-country. This is the same make and model that John Lennon drove around New York with all of his musical equipment. When new, these had a long waiting list to purchase. She has a new Kenwood AM/FM/CD player with bluetooth, and a new $2400. paint job with no scratches or dings. She also has power assisted brakes, a manual sunroof, fog lights, all gauges and lights working and she was recently serviced with all new filters, oil change, engine mounts, valve adjustment, suspension, etc. There is also a 3rd row seat, which folds down as well as the middle seats to give you a space to lie down and take a nap. The tires are brand new Goodyears and she will also come with an owners manual and service records. Try googling 300TD and Vanity Fair to see pictures of this same model and what they say about this indestructible car. With minimal maintenance, there is no reason that she will not be a daily driver 100 years from now. She can be the last car you will ever need to buy. They have been well known to get over a million miles on the same engine. The question is alway "What color should my Mercedes be?" The answer is whatever color your grandchildren like, because they are the ones that will be driving her. It is always best to do your due diligence before making an offer on any vehicle. MAGNIFICENT 1973 MERCEDES BENZ 300 SEL 4.5 The Exterior Custom Paint Color that was chosen when newly purchased is called BIZANTINE GOLD Brand New Black Leather Interior. Black and Gold Trim Mats, with the Mercedes Benz Logo accent the interior beautifully. The interior Zebrano woodwork has been completely refinished, and is absolutely gorgeous. The Headliner is Original and in excellent condition, with no rips or stains. The original interior was in very good condition, but I saw a few age cracks starting to appear, so I decided that this car warranted a New Black Leather Interior installed. The body of this car is RUST FREE and SOLID, and that includes the typical trunk area concerns of floors, fenders, doors, and quarter panels. The paint on a scale from 1-10 is a 9, and it is an older restoration, but very well cared for. The body is in excellent shape, and there is only one very small crease on the driver side rear quarter. This is a very minor flaw. The Mercedes has a Factory Sun Roof that works perfectly, along with its original Becker AM-FM Stereo, and Power AntennaAs with all the 109 300 SELs this car comes with factory air suspension, which has been completely replaced with New air bellows and front and rear leveling valves. The exhaust system has been replaced as well. The air conditioning works well and blows cold. The Engine is a 4.5 V8 Fuel Injected which runs beautifully and is highly detailed. There are 4 Brand New Michelin Tires on 4 reconditioned alloyed Bundt Wheels. The car came with 4 factory chrome hub caps and they will be included in the sale of the car. The Mercedes has its Original Tool Kit. All the chrome has been either replaced new, or re-plated, as well as the polished aluminum trim. This classic reliable long distance diesel mercedes is a sought after vehicle. It is all mechanical and easy to work on. It has some minor rust but needs a front right fender the passenger door works but difficult. This vehicle needs a battery but can be jumped and will drive without a battery. First 750.00 takes it!
