This car runs and drives great. There is a little play in the steering. It is solid, exterior only has minor dings and scratches. Doors open and close with no play. I would drive this anywhere with confidence. I drove it home, 20 miles and a few times along the Bayshore to check it out and am very impressed. Makes me want to go on a road trip. The engine is equipped with a veggie conversion that is not hooked up at the time and I have not used. This car car has great potential for the enthusiast. You are looking at a beautiful 31 year old Mercedes. She drives and runs fantastic. I am not aware of any mechanical issues. The exterior is in great shape, I believe she has had a paint job in the recent past and it appears to have been a really good one. There are no rust issues and the car lived its life in the south prior to us buying it. Her underbody is virtually rust -free. The interior is in excellent condition. The sunroof operates fine. The radio works, although it will need a new antenna at some point as it snapped off partly in a car wash. I just put new tires on her this summer and she has been stored with the rest of our car collection in our storage facility. Once you agree to buy it we need a deposit right away and then arranging for transportation is completely put to you. We will need the balance paid via wire or certified check quickly after agreeing to purchase it.

1983 380SL MERCEDES This car was built about 8 years ago. The engine has been completely rebuilt and still has the original specs. (no oversize on rods or bearings). The speedometer has been rebuilt and shows 124000 + miles. There is about 6000 miles on the rebuild. The interior has been replaced with seat frames and seats from Summit racing. The back seat is removed and cover over the top (see pic). New carpets and bash are installed. The tires are low profile 19 inch which added a nice look. The front and rear bumpers replaced with aftermarket, and a spoiler has been added. It was repainted with strips added. The top is new. Exhaust system has been replace with two mufflers that have a nice low sound. The care is fun to drive and gets a lot of strange looks. I don't drive it but a couple times a year. It is time for it to move on for someone else to enjoy. I have described this vehicle accurately with no false pretences I will answerer any questions I can. So, what I have here is a 1987 Mercedes diesel(gets very good MPG) sedan. It is a rare long-base model, too. The mileage is around 224k(I drive it, so it may change a little bit from the mileage written above), which is considered low for this model. And if you do a blow by test, it has none blow by whatsoever, what means that the engine is still as strong as it was years ago. It has been one owner car until I bought it this summer. I have clear carfax for it, too! It is a former AZ car, so you will not find ANY rust on it. I was amazed when I took it to a workshop and couldn't find any signs of rust on the underside of the car, even mechanic couldn't believe that. Also, you can't see it in the pictures, but I also got a hitch for it, I was planning to use it for a bike rack or maybe tow a motorcycle, but only did it once towing a small utility trailer with a lawn mower for my dad over a distance of maybe 50 miles.I've invested a lot of money in this car, here is a list of some recent maintenance. Just see HOW much was done to the car and check the cost(I have all the receipts). And I even have lots of other receipts since new, owners manual, original dealership paperwork, etc.I must also mention that the previous owner was a very rich guy and all the maintenance records I have, indicate, that he only serviced it at a Mercedes-Benz dealership! That was really expensive, but worth much more than some cheap workshop. On the down side, it does have a couple of minor scratches on the bumper and the hood has a couple of small dents, but you can barely see those. The AC was tested with an AC dye and there were a couple of leaks, so the old r-12 was sucked out of the car. I did get the gasket that needed to be replaced, but never got to it yet. Anyway it is just a matter of installing a gasket and filling up the system. All the things like AC pump and other parts of the system work fine! Driver's window needs a 5$ sliding part.
