96 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE For sale is my prized R107 1985 Mercedes 380SL- 040 Black on Palomino leather with 45,000 original miles. I bought the car from the owner’s daughter with 37,000 as he passed away. The car came with the European front end which is very rare to find. Car was purchased here locally in Fort Worth, TX- The original delivery inspection is included from the dealer. The car does have 1 key (sure a 2nd one isn’t hard to get) and all the original books and manuals. Includes Top adjustment tool, antenna lube, extra fuses. The car for the age looks fantastic- the car does need an exterior detail which will get done for sure. Everything I mention- I will take some pictures of to share the extent of it: The paint is all original 110%- but there are some slight chips in driver’s door along edge, as well as right above the wheel on passenger side front, and on the edge of the hardtop where it sits on the car as you will notice in pictures- nothing major, but it is there. The soft top was used about 10 times total and was stored away most of the cars life- I have cleaned it well. The hard top is in fantastic shape- the rear glass has had some heat build-up along the edges and has some red tint to it- the hard part is reach it as it is a closed off space. The light surface scratches I see on the paint can be buffed out. The car will need new some weather-stripping on the door edges as some of it is worn and aged- it is usable though as some had been replaced. The pinstripe has a few spots where it is peeling. The bumper ends have been refinished but are the original that came on the car. All lights function- the third tail light does have a crack along the side of the plastic- very subtle with the black. Antenna works great- I installed the shorter antenna rather than the original tall one- the radio works fantastic. The spare is in new shape and all original tools are back there in the package. Car had new padding installed under the hood. All interior and exterior lights work. The housings for blinkers and fog lights have been replaced. The leather is in fantastic shape has some dry rot on the outside of the driver’s seats and on the armrest in the center as pictured. The carpet does have places where it is fading (please see pics)- but that’s just part of having a car in the Texas heat as there were times my garage was full, but for the most part, the car was inside. The original mats are in the car- there are a few minor stains in the carpet as the pictures show. The door sills on both sides have a light crack. The wood trim is in good shape- at the very bottom by the carpet the trim staple came loose, but it is not noticeable unless you pull it up. Car has new (within 6 months) Brakes and rotors, Brake fluid, windshield washer pump and reservoir cap, air filters, oil and filter as recommended from manual, transmission gasket kit and transmission fluid. All hoses and belts are in fantastic shape as well. The car had a fresh charge of R12 over the summer and blows ice cold- for the first time- I did notice a minor leak in the garage from the compressor- car does still blow cold. I do still have 1 can of R12 I will include. I did not get the compressor changed/rebuilt as I will leave it up to the new owner to swap to new system or not. The air still blows strong. The windshield wipers are new- I did put Bosch ones on- I kept the original as well for new owner. All power accessories work. New front license plate frame included. Tires are at about 80% tread, and wheels were refinished about a year ago so they look brand new. Suspension is in fantastic condition and rides like a dream for age. Battery is about 3 years old- I keep it charged at times I am not driving it. I am not going to lie- I do not drive it enough and part of the reason I am selling it is the wife says it is time for it to be gone since we have kid number 2 on the way. This car is timeless, beautiful and means so much to me- for its age, it shines even with its slight imperfections. I kept this car under my father’s dealers name- I have owned it for about 7 years now. I can sign the title over to buyer once paid for. A car cover is included as well as the top holder which will need to be shipped as it does not fit in the car and is pictured. I have 100% feedback on eBay and am looking to find a good home for this car. I love to share everything I know about it. This has been only the second owner.. He is selling it only due to blindness as it has been is baby for many years. It has been well maintained, hardly used and always garaged in the winter. It has no rust through out and runs great. The Engine was replaced by Used motor so it has total of 100,000 on it. It will come with all original rims and good tires as pictured. It includes both soft and hard top with wind guard. It comes with EZ Top pulley system for your garage. It has been to the mechanic recently and all has past inspection. The only known issue is some play in the steer wheel and cosmetic trim missing and dings and such. The interior is in good condition and all A/C, heat and such work great. It belonged to an elderly lady who told us she was ready to sell it as she could no longer drive as well as she used to. We snapped it up and put in in storage, starting and driving it monthly to keep it ticking over. We recently decided to sell it, and move it on to a lucky new owner. The car is a convertible, and also has a hard top. I have a clean and current California title in hand, as well as a clean Carfax. Even when I was taking the pictures in preparation for this advert, a passing gentleman stated "you're not really going to sell that car, are you?"... Well, we sadly are. The paint is Anthracite Grey Metallic with Grey MB Tex interior which was a special German order at the time, making it a pretty rare example. It's a genuine one owner car with only 94,500 miles. It runs and drives like new, never fails to start - we actually have it on a battery tender to make sure the battery (which was just replaced with a new one) is kept charged perfectly. The vehicle is very original, having the correct Mercedes glass all round and correct and proper VIN tags and labels. It has the period correct Becker cassette radio, and even the little black storage bin in the rear is Mercedes and has its own part number stamped on it. The spare wheel has never been taken out of the trunk, it sports the original OEM tire and has the tag still attached. I have the original build/order sheet for the car, listing its purchase price as $40,056.00 (which includes a $670 charge for special paint and interior color), and the original tool kit is also present and correct. Recent service items include new alternator, water pump, battery, air filter, belts, engine and transmission oil, spark plugsetc. The tires are almost new and are, of course, matching. The stainless and chrome trim on the car are almost perfect, as is the interior trim. Equipment includes power windows, power door and trunk locks, AC (switches on and operates, may need a charge), power steering, power antenna, fog lamps, cruise control, etc.

1981 Mercedes-Benz 380SL108,2xx milesHard top onlyI just drove this car to the coast this past weekend (400 miles round trip) without issue.It runs and drives great, but isn't without faults:- A/C works intermittently- Heat inoperable- Radio tuner won't tune- Brake sensor light will sometimes illuminate- Needs front struts- There is a scratch over the passenger side front wheel. There are a few marks on the body below the rear of the hardtop. These areas are photographed in detail below.I purchased a Car Fax report which shows zero accidents. With that being said, the rear bumper is not straight - see images.I purchased this car from a Mercedes-Benz dealer who took it in on trade. I was able to contact the previous owner who advised me he purchased it in 1985. He had the timing belt replaced in 2008. I have no service records.See each image for detailed views. In heated storage for 12 yrs.
