1985 Mercedes 300TD Wagon $35k Restoration 66 Professional Photos Up for sale is this absolutely stunning 1985 Mercedes 300TD Wagon. This late model W123 stands alone when your'e talking about 300TD wagons on the market. Over the last 5 years, this 300TD has received a $35,000 mechanical and cosmetic restoration. This 300TD was bought by the previous owner in 2002 out of Texas. It was a rust free car, but it had not been maintained as well as it should have been. The motor and transmission were pulled out and completely rebuilt. The motor was sent down to Florida and rebuilt from top to bottom by Noels. Check out www.Noels.com for some more information. This guy is one of Mercedes top engine builders worldwide! Aside from the motor and transmission, the rear drive axles were replaced, brakes gone through, control arms, ball joints, new Michelin tires (50mi ago), new chrome wheels, every single piece of exterior chrome was replaced NOS Mercedes parts (accept 1 that is absolutely unobtainable!) The front seats were replaced, european leather steering wheel was installed, all new NOS carpet kit installed, European front skid plates installed, MB oem battery, etc, etc. Also the wagon received a proper BARE METAL PAINT JOB which cost over $12,000. This 300TD is clean, straight, and ready to go anywhere! The chasis has just about 200k on it, while the motor and transmission were rebuilt 35,000mi ago. At that time the cluster was sent out and the odometer was set back to "0". Please refer to the exact condition of this beautiful 300TD. There are very few blemishes to speak of, and zero mechanical needs. The only item that we have noticed is the tachometer has stopped working, and we are looking into it. IT HAS BEEN OWNED BY A DOCTOR WHOM RECENTLY PASSED AWAY AND RELATIVES HAVE DECIDED ITS TIME FOR IT TO GO BRINGING OLD MEMORIES WHEN THEY LOOK AT IT. VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED AND IT SHOWS. IT SHOWS THAT VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT, EVERYTHING SEEMS TO WORK GREAT INCLUDING WINDOWS, SUNROOF, CRUISE CONTROL, TACHOMETER, ODOMETER, TURN SIGNALS, LIGHTS, CIGARETTE LIGHTER (NEVER USED) NON SMOKER, SEATS HAVE THE FACTORY SHEEP SKIN COVERS AND ARE IN PRISTINE CONDITION. ENGINE STARTS UP AS SOON AS THE IGNITION SEES THE KEY, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FLAWLESSLY, A/C DOES WORK AND DID NEED A CHARGE AND WORKS BUT NOT SURE IF IT HOLDS A CHARGE OR WILL NEED TO BE CONVERTED TO R134. ALL WOOD TRIM IS PERFECT AND INTACT, SPARE TIRE JACK AND TOOLS ALL IN THE TRUNK, WE SPECIALIZE IN TURBO DIESELS VW/AUDI/MERCEDES AND WENT THRU THE WHOLE CAR TO BE SURE WE HAVE A FINE EXAMPLE AS IT SHOWS. What a beautiful car! She is in excellent condition and can last for years. Will work great for a daily driver or a collector. It's been from Hawaii to California and now it's in Dallas, Texas. My husband bought it for me for mother's day in 2013, and we have spent the last two years fixing, replacing and maintaining the engine. It drives like a dream. Every time I drive it, I get a little sad that we have to sell her. (We have three kids now and their car seats will not fit appropriately in the back seat. We sold out and got a mini-van, I know...) Here is a list of some of her flaws. We all have them: -Automatic vacuum locks are not functioning, but all of the locks work -There are cracks on the dashboard-Some of the carpet in the way back is a shade or two different-Tachometer doesn't work -Driver's foot rest is broken-A piece of the wood around the stereo is looseList of all that has been done: -Replaced Upper and Lower ball joints -New sunroof seal -R12 Refill -Driveshaft replaced -Resealed rear differential -Replaced rear drive axel assembly -Replaced steering gear assembly -Wheel Alignment-Brakes bled and flushed -Rear window motor replaced -Several tubes, valves, seals and gaskets have been replaced all over the car including the oil pan, turbo drain, crankshafts, valve cover, radiator bypass,vacuum and hydrolic pump -Trap oxidizer replaced -Power steering belt and water pump belts replaced -Primary and secondary fuel and air filters replaced -Coolant system maintained -Turbo charger maintained -Mechanical fuel pump maintained -Shocks and rear coil springs maintained We have all of these records if you would like more in-depth information. You are looking at a very Rare 1984 Mercedes 300TD Euro wagon with some even rarer options, this is your typical bare bones European car with manual windows, sunroof, heater controls and antenna, but this also came with a factory engine oil pan skid plate, dual purpose dog screen and cargo cover, adjustable roof rack bars, red drivers side reverse light and an inside headlight adjustment switch, unfortunately I do not have the Euro lights for it. This is a Florida car that I bought in New Hampshire 10 years ago that needed a motor, being a mechanic by trade for 35 years the new motor with about the same milage as this car received a new head gasket, timing chain, chain guides, chain tensioner, seals gaskets ect, stainless steel engine pipe, new exhaust and brakes all with about 5000 miles on them,I used the European turbo when I did the swap and still have the Euro injector pump if the high bidder is interested, this car has been my daily driver and runs and drives great, I would not think twice of driving this car across country, all the rust it has can be seen in the pics, the only rust underneath is on the passenger side rear floor wich is also in the pics, it will also need the drivers side hood hinge repaired, the only reason Im selling it is Im relocating down south and Im trying to save myself a trip back up here to get it, if it doesn't sell I will drive it back down, The correct vin number for this car is WDB1231931F014848 As Ebay would not accept the European vin, I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as I have it for sale locally, you can look at this vehicle at 2982 route 9 Cold Spring NY 10516 any time, feel free to Email, call or tex me 845-216-6366, Thanks, Casey On Nov-05-14 at 15:48:49 PST, seller added the following information: I have had many questions about this car, Everything on this car works great except the A/C needs to be charged and the rear washer hose has a clog, the SLS(self leveling suspension) front and rear wipers, the heat and defrost, the transmission shifts perfect, all gauges and even the AM/FM radio work great! feel free to stop by and take it for a test drive, I am home every day...
