This original contract shows that the car was purchased for $2,671.45 with a balance of $1,929.50 financed and 30 monthly payments of $75.10. The car was paid off in 1958 as was evidenced in a GMAC letter dated May 12, 1958. (Copy of loan payoff letter is included.) The first owner (James Beckner) kept this car for just under 30 years as was reflected in the Texas “Certificate of Title” showing the transfer of the car from James Beckner to Kenneth Donald of Arlington, Texas on May 11, 1985. (Original Texas title document is included.) On June 23, 1987 Frank Ince of Des Moines, Iowa was issued a Iowa “Certifiacte of Title” showing the previous owner to be George Woolfus of Atlanta, Georgia. The title also shows that the next owner of the car to be Randy Swanson of Port Byron, Illinois purchasing the car from Platinum Motors on January 26, 2005 reflecting only 37,579 actual miles. (Copies of both the Iowa and Illinois titles are included.) The car became part of the large Goat Hill Auto Collection of Southern California in 2007. The Illinois “Certificate of Title” shows the transfer from Randell Swanson on April 15, 2007. 1954 Chevy 2 Door Hard Top Sedan Hate to sell but college for my oldest fast approaching. 1954 Chevy 210 2 Door Hardtop. This is NOT a project car that is going to sit in your driveway or garage. It's a daily driver and passed Massachusetts Inspection in April of 2015. Has and comes with a Massachusetts title. Mileage is marked as unknown. The speedometer and odometer are functional and the odometer shows ~ 76,000 miles. There is NO rust on this car. There isn't a spot I could find that does not hold a magnet. It is really straight. This is one those rare cars that you can work on and still drive regularly and do things that make it 'yours.' It is currently covered in matte black primer. A little block sanding and it's ready for paint. It doesn't need any bodywork or mechanical work at all. The suspension and steering is unmolested and original. The original independent front suspension is really amazing. Way ahead of its time. The 4 tires are BRAND NEW Uniroyal Tiger Paws. I have no problem taking this car 75 MPH down the highway today. It's straight and doesn't shake. The speedometer and odometer are the only original functioning gauges. Aftermarket fuel, temp, oil, tach and volt gauges have been added and work perfectly. The windshield wipers have been converted from vacuum to new electric 12 volt. The car is powered by a rebuilt (2012) mild 302. It was built for the purpose of the car being a daily driver and not a once in a while or weekend hot rod. It starts right up every time, even in the cold. Gas mileage isn't as bad as one may think. Transmission is a C4 Automatic and shifts like new. Has a Lokar shifter on the floor. Exhaust sounds amazing - video does it no justice. Has TWO, yes TWO exhaust options: Sidepipes can be opened for a more aggressive sound. If you're driving around the neighborhood, simply close the sidepipes and all exhaust is directed through the dual Flowmaster mufflers straight out the back polished stainless exhaust tips. Interior is just gorgeous. Front and rear seats have been reupholstered in black velour. No rips, stains, holes wear or other blemishes. The headliner matches the seats. The floor has been fully patched where needed and is covered by a new black carpet and pad. All the lights work as designed, including the dome light. Glass and rear view mirror is good. I would probably add a side view mirror. Brakes stop on a dime. Steering is remarkable tight and smooth. Again, the car needs nothing to put on the road. I am pretty sure you'll want to put your own touches on it - paint, maybe stance - not sure what else you'd want to do. If I had the time and inclination (and money), I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car across the country as it sits. Here are the logistics of the sale: Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop .Its engine is the 283 with the power glide automatic transmission , it runs and drives ,and brakes great , the engine was rebuilt including a water pump , alternator , battery , starter ,some wiring , carburetor 4 barrel and intake , brake lines changed , fuel lines changed , fuel tank changed ,new front an rear glass with rubber seals ,has new chrome and some older chrome with a some marks , new 18 x7 inch an 20 x 8.5 inch wheels and tires . Body has a Solid trunk , floors , inner and outer rockers ,front and rear inner and outer trunk/engine pans are solid , suspension is good .It has a very nice interior , this is a turn key car that can enter car shows and it runs , drives and stays on the road straight .The car comes with a clear transferable registration for a new owner , same as a title in new york on older cars . The stop lights , headlights , turn signals lights all work fine , gas gauge , temp gauge an electrical is good, also the car just had a new cool radiator an overflow tank and new temp and fuel gauges , new transmission mounts installed .I will answer any questions you have .Car is for sale locally.Some things that may need attention are the passenger side key lock is not opening with its key , it may need a adjustment (easy fix),speedometer works some times , i purchased a new cable ( a easy fix ) . Ok, I purchased this a few months back from a guys collection of cars. This is a real 56' bel air 2 DOOR HARD TOP, it is not a 4 door hardtop, it is not a 2 door post. The car was originally copper and white and he had it repainted Gold and white. He also paid to have the interior redone, which turned out really nice. After that he seemed to have lost interest. I have no idea how long it had been sitting by the time I purchased it. The motor turned over by hand but did not initially run. I went ahead and got it running, which included installing a new ballast resister, points/condenser, and flushing out the carburetor. I also flushed out the gas tank and installed a new fuel line as well as an inline filter. I had the radiator and the heater core repaired as well so there wouldn't be any surprises going down the road from the car over heating. I also installed a new original style master cylinder, turned all the drums, and installed new front brake hoses and bled the whole system to get all the air and moisture out. The 56 comes with the original 265 V8 2v, original power glide transmission, and original rear end I believe. I took it to an exhaust shop and had them install a new exhaust system, so it now purrs going down the road. If you look at the pictures the motor looks completely stock other than the air cleaner. It still has the original style generator that works great keeping the battery charged. The motor is a champ, I am not sure of how many miles are on it, but it still has the original GM gaskets and idles very nice. I have driven the car around town with no issues. I do hear a slight hum from the transmission at times, but it doesn't seem to affect the drivability. Cosmetically the car actually looked nice when I got it. The paint is about a 7, I am picky so when I get close I can see little flaws here and there. This car would be a great cruiser as is, and most people will never notice the little issues with the paint. If it was buffed out, it would shine like day one. I have purchased many NOS and reproduction trim to get this car into the shape it deserves. The car turns heads as it is going down the road, it has a great look to it with the Crager style wheels and vintage stance. The wheels look great from a few feet away but there is little spots where the chrome has popped off. I did not totally restore the car, there are a few small items left for the new owner: The original wiring needs to be hooked up for the tail lights and headlights to function properly. There is some frayed wires, so the new owner can repair or just purchase a new harness if they choose. I did not receive a windshield wiper motor with the car, or wiper arms/blades, these are also available on eBay or reproduction. I purchased a original deluxe push button radio for the car, I am not sure if it works, but with a new speaker it may work fine. I also purchased installed a complete original lock set for the car, which includes both doors, trunk lock, new ignition, and glove box door lock, these all work great. So you can feel secure henit is locked up. The windows all roll up and down, some need more effort than others. I lubed up the tracks a little and this also seemed to help the operation. I also installed new weather stripping for the quarter windows where they meet the front windows when closed. This car is not perfect, so please review the pictures, and understand you are not bidding on a 1000 point show car here. This is a great car as a driver, and with a couple odds and ends would be a great car to cruise in or take in a car show. There are many 4 door and 2 door post cars out there, they made a lot less of the Bel Air 2 door hardtops, and when investing in a 55,56,57 chevy the 2 door hardtops are always in higher demand, because they look so cool with all the windows down! This car is located in Murrieta California, I encourage anyone who is interested to see the car in person prior to bidding. I just want to make sure everyone knows what they are getting, and nobody expects some frame off show car. I forgot to mention I also purchased a new trunk mat (floor under the mat is solid, just looks old). Note: there is a slight crack in the windshield, it is on the passenger side where it curves around, so it doesn't really affect vision or appearance, but thought I would mention it, so there aren't any surprises for the new owner.
