TRIM TAG INFORMATION: 57 - 1037DBODY K - 7261TRIM 670 - 1A BPAINT 822D You’re looking at a friend of mine’s 1957 Chevy Bel Air two door hardtop. It was purchased in 2006 from a dealership in Oregon. They enjoyed the car going to car shows and cruising it around for about ten years, putting only 4,000 miles on it. The family just doesn't have time to enjoy it anymore. It was taken to a mechanic to make sure everything is good to go and also professionally detailed inside and out. It came out amazing. It looks like it had a frame-off restoration in the early 2000's. I have no documentation to prove it, but I do have pictures of the car taken apart before it was painted black which are included in the auction photos. The paint and chrome are beautiful, laser straight body with two-stage PPG black paint and beautiful chrome except for one very minor ding/scuff on the front lower bumper on the driver's side. There are no rust bubbles coming through, no rust in the trunk, no rust in the doors, no rust on the trunk lid, no rust on the rain gutters or under side of the car. The glass is nice. It looks to me like it was replaced when the car was painted about ten years ago. It has a nice interior, needing seat belts. The dash has been rebuilt/restored. I talked to the gentleman that rebuilt the dash today and he said it was the one of the cleanest, rust free under-dash areas he's ever seen. It has Twisted Vista 18 and 20 inch Intro wheels with Nitto tires that are in great shape. It has a small block Chevy 350, V8, (CMJ code) with an Edelbrock Performer EPS intake, aluminum radiator, Dougs headers with dual exhaust, power steering and adjustable front disc brakes and rack and pinion front end. It has a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive and stock rear end with 4.11 posi traction. The car runs and drives great. You can get in it and go.When they bought the car, it had a 1959 Corvette GM fuel injection unit on it. To sum it up, the car was restored a while back and still shows very, very nice. No signs of shoddy work, no paint cracks, no peeling chrome, etc. To me a car that has been painted for this length of time and still looks great, not showing any faults, means that it must have been a quality paint job and has been well taken care of. The inside and outside look great. It could use a little sprucing up under the hood. It has been driven, so underneath the hood and the underside of the car show signs of normal use. The odometer reads 30,278, but the actual mileage is unknown. I can't stress enough how nice the body, paint and chrome work on this car is. It's stunning. 1957 Chevy 210 Hardtop...Rare!!!! Only about 10% of the hardtops were 210. Complete frame off rotisserie restoration done in the 90's. New chrome, stainless, glass, rubber , seals, bumpers, radiator, front end, brakes (new front disc), interior, carpet, engine, trans and all new nuts and bolts. Car has had only two owners in the last 30 years. Garage kept. Car has fresh paint. Engine was upgraded to crate 383 stroker engine ...about 425-430 hp. with Fast ( Inglese ) Stack 8 EFI ( Weber Look!!! ). Aluim. heads, Howard Roller cam, roller rockers. Engine is beautiful and very strong. Engine has about 1500 miles on it as it was installed with brand new Tremec 5 speed overdrive trans ( with Aluim. cross member brace ) at 1300 miles on the brand new Dakota Digital Dash. New Fast fuel pump/regulator and Fast Electric Ignition. There is $20,000 Plus in drivetrain alone. I built this car to enjoy and drive....just finished a 700 mile Hotrod Power Tour trip....car ran great.. never got over 190 temp. and got good fuel mileage considering horsepower. Car has new P/S that was installed at 1300 miles. New Headman ceramic headers ,exhaust, clutch, pressure plate, new Led running light headlights, Brand new tires and American Racing Wheels, new custom wheel, chrome dash insert, car has upgraded electrical system with modern fuse box. Vintage Air was added during restoration. Car has alarm system but remote does not work. Car has add on cruise control that was working before I shortened the drive shaft and will work if a new speed sensor is added to drive shaft. This car came up for sale when the owners buddies convinced him to order a new Camaro SS. Who says being in your 70's means your not full of spunk. This car isn't quite 70, but it is 58 years old. It is still full of spunk, too. Perhaps limited use and loving care allow it to look so good and act so young. The mileage of 37,200 is claimed to be actual, and by the last four owners. It seems hard to believe, but when inspecting the car, it becomes easy to believe. We can't prove the mileage claim, but your inspection will open your eyes to the wonderful condition of this car. Going back twenty years, the mileage has only changed by 5000 miles. During this time, a frame-on restoration occurred. Certainly that is responsible for the wonderful appearance of this car. But looking underneath, it all appears untouched. It is very solid with minimal surface rust and no rot or scale. This car was built at the Janesville, WI plant. Had it ever been driven in winter, or for lots of miles, it couldn't be so nice. During the restoration, the engine was rebuilt. It now has hardened seats for unleaded fuel compatibility. The engine is an era correct 283 with correct Rochester 4 bbl. carburetor. This is called the Power Pack. It maintains the original Powerglide automatic transmission.The body is in great condition. The base coat/clear coat Sierra Gold finish is of show quality. Considering it is twenty years old, it has held up very well. We see one small bubble at the bottom of the passenger door. It has been there a long time and has not progressed. We don't feel it warrants a repair. Perhaps you disagree. There is enough touch-up paint to take care of it. We feel the bumpers were re-plated and the interior reupholstered during the restoration. Again, they are still show worthy. Both the exterior finish and interior trim correctly match the codes on the cowl tag. This color combination is not often seen. That, and the condition, are what attracted us to this automobile. We also like the options. Having power steering and brakes makes this a great car to drive. We like cars with EZ-EYE tinted glass. The recent upgrade to Coker wide whitewall radials enhances your driving experience. Up for sale is a totally restored 1957 Chevy, 2 Door, Hard top, Belair. It has a 327 motor that has been completely rebuilt with a little cam. It has a 4 speed transmission. It can drive all day and won’t get hot and does not have any leaks. It is a very, very reliable car. It has a satellite radio. There is no rust and super clean.
