For this auction Speed TV came to my showroom while it was under construction for an interview which was later aired during the Barrett Jackson Palm Beach, FL auction on Speed TV with millions of viewers watching. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only on the internet and auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially classic cars. These people aren’t just one age group but all different ages ranging from very young to very old. It’s a much diversified market. I've learned it's not just people in the United States but its people all over the world. Roughly 20% of my sales are from people who live outside of the United States. Some examples would be Canada, Australia, Mexico and Europe. Also from what I’ve learned roughly 20% of bidders at auctions are also people who live outside the United States. Over the years I've noticed that the higher quality classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Over the last 10 years the overall market has been very strong and I believe it will continue to grow. Certain classic cars prices are on the rise and others are on the decline. It’s all about supply and demand not about a good or bad economy. The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale. The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay. Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz. I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time. Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership. Overall things were going just fine but my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership. I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership. I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen which required using my family’s savings and acquiring loans such as a home equity line of credit. This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale. A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly! PRO STREET CAR: 1956 CHEVROLET 210 COLOR: RED This 1956 body was restored from a rust-free car, stripped to bare metal and painted. All glass is new, stainless is in show-quality, polished condition, and all chrome items have been plated or replaced. The interior is not finished due to this sale. I believe it is better to let the buyer decide the color and style of the interior. The rear seat has been fabricated to match the tub area and is ready to cover. The front seat is a bench-style, custom made by GLIDE Engineering. It has a split-back seat with recliner mechanism. It is also set up for middle armrests. All wiring including under-dash wiper system is complete. All dash gauges are in working condition. Dash area has a custom-made tilt column system with a BUDNIK steering wheel. The trunk area is pretty much self-explanatory by looking at the photos. Undercarriage and engine modifications are so numerous that it will be difficult describing these areas, but I’ll take a shot. The transmission is a 4L80E Turbo 400, computer shifter automatic with TCI computer external cooler and fan. The transmission is completely detailed to match the car. The engine started out as a 454 but is now a 526 cubic inch big block with 658 horsepower (dyno). I have the dyno sheet for verification. It has aluminum BRODIX heads, 871 BDS (blower drive service) supercharger. It has two 850 double pumper HOLLEY carburetors, hydraulic roller CROWER cam shaft, and BOYD idlers and pulleys. The HOOKER headers have thermo-shield coating. The undercarriage has fabricated front end with coil over shocks, rack and pinion power assist, PAINLESS custom electric wiring harness, custom exhaust (complete from heads to tailpipes) which is ceramic coated inside and out. Custom built MARK WILLIAMS racing rear end/STRANGE 10-bolt 410 gears, GUN drilled BILLET axles, STRANGE Engineering ladder bar shocks in the rear. Complete rear end and other items are detailed and painted to match the car. Some items of interest and, should I say, much expense are: Rack and pinion power assist, complete digital instrumentation, custom wiring, 4-wheel disc brakes, power windows, power disc brakes, VINTAGE air conditioning, MSD 6-BTM boost timing master ignition, BDS linkage setup, LOKAR under-the-dash emergency brake system, BDS polished blower, custom under-dash wiper system, dual vehicle speed sensor 4L80E, BUDNIK steering wheel. The front tires are SINCERA Touring P205 60 15. The rear wheels are MICKEY THOMPSON Rear Legacy 15/15/5. I have a copy of the dyno testing for the engine, copies of all engine work and expenses (I have over $22,000 of receipts for engine work not counting the initial cost of the engine). This car has approximately $80,000 in high-quality, professional work. I did not have the work done, and I didn’t put that amount out, so I don’t expect that amount to be recovered and therefore have set my reserve at a reasonable price. I know there are some of you out there contemplating building a pro-street car, and others may have started already. If so, this is your chance to save a lot of money. Every item in this restoration was given careful thought and was professionally done; hence air conditioning, power windows, the consideration of the GLIDE Engineering front seat. Another reason for the buyer finishing the interior is that I believe the car should have a roll bar. The car is extremely fast. I will consider trades of 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevys – all models -- maybe plus some Chevelle models. If you feel like my photos are not representative, let me know. This 1956 Chevrolet 210 Handyman "WOODY" Wagon has spent its entire life in California and Arizona. It is 100% rust free and has never had rust repairs. The Wood wrap was added in a grey wood to march the interior along with the custom cut emblems (exact font and look of the factory emblems) about a year ago. It can be removed if you choose. I purchased the car from the widow of the second owner (owned since 1971) a few years ago. After taking it from a "great start" to where it is today. A great cruiser and show car. It has all the modern conveniences - 383 4-bolt, PDB, Auto, Vintage A/c Heat, Ididit column with cruise and tilt, digital dash, modern radio inside the factory look ($800.00), buckets, shoulder belts, console, etc. The paint and interior are about 6-8 years old but the car sat in a garage for most of the time so it looks like new. All of the interior window trim has been chromed, all exterior stainless has been repairs and polished, all exterior chrome is new. I decided to leave the nostalgic Alston rear anti-skip system in place along with the "Hearse" on the rear window. The previous owner raced it for a few years n the 70s and I like the history it shows. This car runs and drives amazing. I drive it everywhere and never have an issue.. This is a hard to find 1956 210 four door hardtop body style (NOT A BEL AIR). Purchased the vehicle in 1996 from a small used car dealer in Waco, Texas who said he had just bought it from original owner estate sale. The car has been protected in my garage since I bought it. Some minor surface rust and not dented up so not a lot of body work needed. Glass is all good, no cracks or holes. No missing parts. No missing chrome. Hood ornament not on the car in the pictures but I have it. I also have extra parts picked up at car shows. I had some dents removed and some surface rust and then primered those areas. I had the motor and transmission rebuilt (235 six cylinder) in 2007 and have put no more than 100 miles on it since then. Replaced the front and back floors; the trunk floor did not need to be replaced. Put new tires on it in 2012 and they have less than 100 miles on them. Needs paint job and new interior. The mileage show on the listing is on the rebuilt motor and transmission; the odometer was broken at the time I purchased the car. This is a sturdy car, is driveable (just needs new battery now). Because of my health I don't want to put any more into it. I also have a set of Chevy rally wheels for it (not included in price of car). My research shows that only 20,020 of this body style was made and they are hard to find.

Nice straight body. Has paint chips, and scratches but is overall a nice driver. Was painted probably 20+ years ago. Body on restoration! This car just underwent a frame off restoration. Look at the underside pictures, this is a true frame off restoration, not taking a aersol can and undercoating everything, including all the bolts, hoses, etc like a lot of cars you see. This has a small block chevy with a mild cam and a turbo 350. It has air conditioning, power steering and power brakes. Runs and drives excellent. Fly in and drive home.
