What we have for sale here is a beautifully restored 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS tribute. This car has had over $30,000 spent on getting it back to this show quality state and boy does it show! Not often that one this nice comes along at this price so don’t miss it! History – I acquired this car from a gentleman that acquired it from the guy that was restoring it. I was told that he was older and he couldn’t quite complete the car as his health deteriorated. It was bought and finished by the man that I bought the car from. I bought the car with the intentions of doing an LS1-2 conversion but have since picked up another project and therefore am selling this one as I am not able to do both. It’s a shame as it took me quite some time to find one this nice. I did not restore the car but will share what I know about it as told by the previous owner. Car shows less than 1000 miles on the odometer since restoration and installation of SS dash. Drivetrain – Numbers matching 350/350 engine/transmission setup. Car starts right up and drives out very nicely. Transmission shifts smoothly. Car is not a 500 HP street beast but was built/setup for driving to local shows and cruise-ins and runs out nicely. I have probably logged a 200-300 miles on the car and it’s very reliable. Factory power steering make it very easy to drive. This is a factory AC car but is not currently operating. Period correct style exhaust with factory exhaust manifolds with an Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carburetor give it a nice but not overpowering sound. Exterior – The car was repainted the original Mulsanne Blue color and it looks fantastic! This SS has a high dollar, show quality paint job with very few flaws. Steel SS hood and white SS stripes really make it pop. Body lines and gaps are perfect. All trim has either been replaced or re-chromed including bumpers, headlight bezels, door handles, window trim etc. It all looks brand new! Grill is excellent as is all the glass. The exterior of this car easily a 9-9.5 out of 10. An absolute traffic stopper! Underneath – Underneath is very solid with no signs of rust that I could see. Floors and frame are super solid and all appear original. It’s been coated/painted black and is very clean. I will get some pics. Interior – BRAND NEW black interior! New seats, door panels, headliner, New SS dash with working tach/speedo, new carpet and floor mats and the list goes on and on. See pics. CD Player with USB hookup. Speakers are in the rear decklid. Door panels were NOT cut to install speakers up front. Interior is very nice!! Chassis/Suspension – It appears that most of the suspension parts have been rebuilt to factory specs. Car in not lowered and rides like an original 71 Chevelle should. Factory drum brakes have been rebuilt and it stops well. Overall a very fun car to drive. Wheel/Tires – New 17” American Racing Burnout wheels in gloss black with polished lip wrapped in BF Goodrich G-Force tires. Staggered 225 front and 245 in the rear. Very expensive wheel/tire package. Known issues – Factory AC is all there but not hooked up. I believe it needs some hoses,belts,freon to be operable. Fuel gauge is inoperable. Could use an alignment. Ash tray door doesn’t stay closed. Drips a little fluid while parked. Few minor paint bubbles here and there but hardly noticeable. All minor stuff, nothing which hinders the car from being enjoyed.
