1978 Triumph Spitfire, owned, babied and always kept garaged by two classic car collectors for the past 15 years. Not a show car but an excellent driver. I've taken it to several car shows over the years and it fits right in with the best of them. Always stored inside under a cover. Never driven in rain. 71,300 original miles4-speed, no overdriverare Brooklands green original Triumph colorfolder of parts and service receipts going back to the original ownerTriumph Spitfire shop manual and original owners manualzero oil leaks (yes, you read that right)Brakes, oil change, tune-up and transmission rear seal replaced this fallDual Monza Exhaustset of 5 Australian Superlite wheels with Potenza tiresnice tan houndstooth cloth interiororiginal carpet in good shape with Triumph rubber floor matsWood dash in excellent conditiontop is good with zip out rear windowall gauges work including speedo and odometeroriginal single SU carb converted to twin SU'ssmall chip and crack in windshield but replacement windshield is includedminor rust spots in dog legs repaired and painted. (amateur job but it's located in an area not visible unless you get down low and look)clean trunk with new spare and original tools in bagnewer battery, always on a trickle charge when not drivenlarge box with hundreds of $$ of assorted new parts, filters, plugs etc come with the car Runs great and the Monza exhaust has a growl that belies it's 1500 engine. It has an am-fm cassette deck but trust me, you'll never listen to it with the way this car sounds. I have 12 collector cars and will be selling my two Triumph's this winter. The other is a beautiful 1980 TR7 convertible in the same Brooklands green color- feel free to contact me if interested. Only selling to clear garage space for some spring shopping. Also for sale locally. Sold "as-is" and no warrantees or guarantees are given or implied. I have done my best to describe the overall condition of this car as I know it. I'm not a mechanic and I don't work on my cars, so while I will be happy to try and answer any questions, I am limited in my mechanical knowledge- I always have my collector cars serviced by a local European car specialist. Personal inspections are encouraged. I am located in Earlysville, Va., only a few miles from the Charlottesville, Va. airport.

1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500Convertible Up for auction is a running 1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500. I've owned the car for several years now; since 2009. I purchased the car in the Pittsburgh area and drove it consistently for the next several years in good weather. The car has sat the past two years basically not driven but started and 'driveway' driven. This year, my intentions were to have my mechanic inspect the car and make it roadworthy. I purchased most of the necessary parts this spring from The Roadster Factory, but never had a chance to have the car looked at because of my work schedule. The new parts are included in the sale of the car*. Will make someone a nice winter project and be able to drive in the spring. Last fall, I replaced the (new) slave cylinder for the transmission. At the same time, I installed a used radiator to replace the leaking one; and also installed all new hoses, new overflow bottle and coolant. Car runs well and starts easily, can be driven onto transport. PA title is clear, mileage exempt (odometer may not be accurate). New parts include:New, gearbox transmission tunnel and mounting hardware.New, two (2) new oil filtersNew set of front disc brakes including pads and rotor, hardware.New set of rear brake pads, hardware.New (2) rear brake adjustersNew (2) rear wheel brake cylinders and hardware.New emergency brake cable You will need new tires and a battery to make it roadworthy. All lights and gauges work (except for the cd/radio - I forgot to hook it back up when I replaced the slave cylinder). Interior is worn but useable, seats have covers on them. Paint is in poor condition, but can wait. The red was put on top of BRG, top coat has worn off, not holding a shine. Surface rust, but holes or putty that I am aware of. P/O had stickers of the door panels (not appropriate - #53 Herbie) when removed it took some paint on the drivers side. The convertible top will need replaced, functional but not good. Has a hole in the top and a couple of holes at the plastic windows. Like I said, I was planning on driving it this summer with more restorations in the future, but now I need to sell the car. I am selling off all of my Triumphs here in the next few weeks - if this is not the one you want, stay tuned for my 66 Spit, 68 Spit or the 69 Spit. All coming out of the barn in the coming weeks - My loss, your project. There is no warranty or guarantee implied here. The car is 36 years old and I am not a certified mechanic. Car is sold in the 'as is' condition. Before you try to give me a low offer, please understand the new parts are valued alone at about $400.00. *If you don't want the parts, I am acceptable to a lower price. Make your offer, just be reasonable, maybe we can work something out. I would like the car picked up as soon as possible - My barn is coming down and no longer will have dry storage. Car will have to be paid in full at that time. I am asking for a deposit only to keep people honest. See my other auctions and feedback as Lovemytriumph. Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list!

1975 Triumph Spitfire. This car had been sitting in storage for the past 17 years when I found it in April of this year. The odometer shows 49,684 miles. After purchasing I put on a new MSD ignition, new fuel pump, new slave cylinder, flushed the tank and added new tires. The car runs and drives good. It will be needing a new fan and possibly a new radiator. The body is solid and straight with only minimal surface rust. The paint has faded however. The interior is in great condition with no holes or tears in the seats. The gauges are original except for the temperature gauge. The top needs to either be repaired or replaced, It has no holes or tears but the side curtains are missing. This is not a perfect car but it is not far from being complete. I bought it to restore but no longer have the time. It is a very fun little car to drive. Also the title is lost. I am factoring into the price the fact that a new title will have to be ordered. The car is located in south Arkansas, Please feel free to email, call or text me with ay questions. Chris, 214-215-1367

Up for your bidding is '78 Triumph Spitfire SCCA F/Production Tribute car. I looked long and hard to find one that met my criteria, and you're looking at it. This three previous owner Spit has 37,000 ORIGINAL MILES and... are you ready? ABSOLUTELY NO RUST. ANYWHERE. A magnet was taken over every square inch of body and it revealed NO FILLER to be found. An inspection of the chassis showed NO CORROSION on the frame, floor pans, trunk, or suspension. Alll work performed by McB's Autosport, a Restoration/Racing shop in Bridgeville, Pa. They went through the entire car, and anything that was suspect due to wear or age was replaced. I literally DOUBLED my initial investment PLUS...everything had to be right from a safety/performance standpoint, and that resulted in a significant outlay of time and money. It was worth it. Now, you can buy a four or five thousand dollar Spitfire, but unless you're incredibly lucky you're going to invest thousands more to get it right. That's all been done for you which means BIG SAVINGS in the end... A full TriumphTune exhaust was added from England, Pertronix ignition (NO POINTS), Weber down draft carb, new plugs and wires, new Cooper Tires, new radiator, brakes, lines and many more odds and ends to make it as reliable and trouble-free as possible. This Spitter fires right up and settles into a nice idle. EVERYTHING (Lights, signals, switches, etc.) WORKS. It runs, stops and handles just like it was intended. I love to listen to it crackle and pop of the exhaust on decel in a down hill 3rd gear bend. Totally Intoxicating. Clutch is light and strong, gearbox tight with no strange noises or smells...The throttle has a heavy return spring on the Weber carb that is evident on initial tip-in...more of an observation than a complaint...you can easily swap in a lighter spring/throttle cable if you like. other than that, it meters fuel beautifully. The ORIGINAL INTERIOR is absolutely beautiful. The door cards, as well as the carpet and dash cover, are mint with no rips, tears, or stains. The only deviation from stock was the addition of a turned aluminum dash. The paint looks to be an older respray, but it shines up great with a minimum of minor scratches and a miniscule ding or two. All in all, a subjective 7 out of 10 and nothing major to detract from the visual esthetics. Which brings us to this...I could've popped for new paint (and it'd be worthy), but truthfully, I'd just be worried about that first scratch or dent and wouldn't enjoy this car's true purpose, which is strafing the back roads on a sunny day. I decided instead to turn it into an SCCA F/Production Tribute car. For those of you who don't know, the Triumph Spitfire RULED the F/P class from the late Sixties throughout the Seventies, a remarkably dominant stretch in SCCA racing history. We added period correct graphics, as well as a competition roll bar and fire extinguisher to complete the transformation. It must have struck a chord, because shortly after completion this Spitfire took THIRD IN CLASS at the prestigious 33rd Annual British Car Days at the Vintage Grand Prix in Pittsburgh. 15 beautiful Spitfires, and this one took home 3rd behind a full nut and bolt restoration and an original '77 with super-low miles. This car has MOJO, quite apparent wherever it lands. Remember though...this is no new Z-06..It's a 37 year old car, and the driving experience is a throw-back...and I mean that in good way...It also means there's no warranty expressed or implied. Buyer responsible for shipping, I require a $500.00 deposit within 24 hours of the auction's end. One bid can own this cool little piece of history. Good Luck! The top is black and in excellent condition, save for one minor 2" tear above the passenger window where the top folds. Car has minor scratches in paint, one small oil leak in the front of engine.

Clear NYS Title!!! 1979 Triumph Spitfire convertible. Runs/drives, but could use some TLC. Master cylinder for clutch has small leak. So clutch engages right off of floor. Clutch has been replaced with an Exedy clutch within last 1,000 miles. Also uses about 0.5 quarts of oil in between oil changes, which isn't as bad as most Triumph cars its age. Body could use a respray, top has a hole in the right side window, and the engine could use a tune-up. Like I said, it runs and drives though. This would make a perfect project car, for not alot of money. Monza exhaust, New alternator, aluminum radiator, clutch, water pump, starter, rear brake shoes, all new tires, reverse switch, floor mats, fuel sending unit, wiper blades, fresh transmission fluid change, etc... This has been my day driver for the past 2 years, minus rainy days, and winter. Body and frame rust free. Please come see this car, and ask any questions before bidding. Thank you and have a great day! On Jul-19-15 at 06:03:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, heat/fan currently inop, ignition switch will also need to be replaced. Vehicle will sometimes not shut off on its own, so I have a killswitch currently installed. On Jul-20-15 at 22:20:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention, that the seats aren't in great shape. The headrests are torn, and the seat bottoms are torn. The padding is OK still. I will include replacement seats, from a Mazda miata, that are in decent shape, and will fit just fine. I just realized, that there was a typo, in the item description. This vehicle is a 1979 model, NOT a 1977. Thanks

Have to regrettably let go of my 1980 Triumph Spitfire. Due to some changes with my work/life schedule, I will not have the time as previously thought to own and maintain my car. Breaks my heart, but it is what it is. I acquired this car last summer from the Midwest, and as such it is a rust free vehicle - which is tough to find on these old British Sports cars. Although owned for a short period of time, I babied it, was stored in a heated garage and was prepping for it to be driven quite a bit this summer. Its had oil changed and a fresh coat of wax put on her. I dropped in a brand-new battery 2 months ago as well. This is the original red color too, but was repainted 10 or so years ago, according to the PO. The previous owner has done a good job storing this Triumph. You will be the fourth owner (theoretically, the third because I haven't put her on the road) of this LBC after counting my stint with it. Although insured (will cancel at auctions end), I never did get the chance to put plates on the car yet, and have the open title and original paperwork in hand from the PO to give the new owner once payment goes through my bank to acquire the lien release I have on the car. This formality should only take an additional day or two to clear up once sold. That being said, it is in fantastic mechanical shape without any issues to speak of aside from a few very minor fixes. The interior is in great shape and clean. Has tan leather seats with the triumph wreath logo embossed on them. The wooden dash is in good shape, but show some slight warping/cracking due to age. These are a cinch to swap out. Although working, the parking brake "idiot light" has gone out. Has thatched floor mats on top of standard carpet which is also in great shape. This is the one real issue - The "tenths" on the odometer seem to be moving super-quick, and the lowdown I got from the PO was that it had something to do with the speedometer cable, although once acquired a good friend who is well educated on the topic said It could be due to an upgraded camshaft from the PO. That I cannot confirm at this time - but it is mighty peppy. Also has a fully electronic ignition, with a crane cams piece installed. No troublesome points and condenser. Has Pioneer cd player, which sounds great. Comes with some extra fuses as well. Convertible top is in great shape with no tears or fading of the rear plastic. The trunk has the original unused spare tire with cover. The PO said the true mileage is actually 66,000, and As mentioned before, shows 88,000 however. PO put in a new rack/pinion for steering and swapped out for a new alternator. Tires are high-quality and have a lot of tread left. You may see my asking price and balk, but please know two things - 1) the car is in fantastic shape, very close to being show ready, and 2) the car comes with many, many extras. The extras include - an overdrive transmission (already a $1,500 and hard to find item, with stick shift engagement and drive shaft), an extra exhaust header, a tonneau cover (for those hot days with case), high quality tan triumph seat covers (A close to $200 value- these are available through Moss and Vicky Brit to see the cost), original carburetter (zenith-Stromberg) and intake manifold, new clutch and more. IF the auction goes above $6,800 I will throw in over $400 worth of hard-to-find books on the Spitfire (Kaz Kastners books, books on the weber and lucas electronics), including about a dozen English-printed Triumph Magazines, but I may elect to sell separately or not include if the auction does not go that high. Do message me if interested. A picture of the literature is in the auction here.As said earlier, the car is in fine mechanical condition. All British cars leak oil from time to time, but this does very little. Exhaust burns clean and clear (no blue smoke whatsoever). Transmission shifts just fine, and comes with upgraded walnut knob I had put on last summer. Original knob will obviously be included. Car also has an Italian-made (not the replica) Weber sidedraft carburetter, which has been a joy in my experience with it. This really pains me to sell, as I had some serious plans for it, but the timing of the work/life balance just isn't right currently. As with anything I sell, I stand by my items and will do my best to answer any questions you have pertaining, and can send more pictures. This is a close to 40 year old car, and have done my very best to represent it for what it is - a great classic car in even better shape for its age. As such, I make no warrantees. You are responsible for shipping and or pickup, but I will try my best to help the buyer. Please do not be shy in contacting me for help or any questioning. I will provide my phone # if need be, and will make myself available any way I can. Please note the car is also for sale locally, and will end the auction if need be.

1980 Triumph 1500 Spitfire. This Spitfire has spent all of it's life kept in a garage under it's custom car cover. It has 60,855 original miles. The car has always been in the family so I have it's whole history on this car. This car has been driven to California and back! New convertible top, it has factory original color paint, new Weber Carb., new tires, new starter, new alternator, new stereo system/speakers and much, much more....... This car is a lot of fun and ready to drive. The car has a couple minor blemishes. There is a small blister in the paint on the front lower part of the front fender. There is a small hole in the drivers seat and a small ding in the passenger side front fender. This car also comes with a cockpit tonneau cover, convertible boot cover, and custom cloth car cover.
