I have always had convertibles, both old and new, but never have had a car that is this much fun. Let me introduce you to "Lucy Lou." I bought this magnificent classic car in July of 2016, and I am the third owner. The first owner was in New Orleans, and the second owner was in Tampa, Florida. The second owner did not drive it, and only showed her at car shows. It has never been up North and has no rust. She has never failed to start. When I first bought her and took her to a mechanic, he indicated that she was in excellent shape. I took her to a local classic car show 2 weeks ago in Webster, Florida and she won the Tom Cushman's People's Choice Award. Everyone loves her! Also, comes with a car cover and 2 mud guards, a box of various bits and pieces, 2 repair operation manuals and a Triumph Spitfire Haynes restoration manual. I love this car. I drive it daily in town and around to The Villages in Florida. The only reason I am selling is because my husband recently had a triple bypass and it is now hard for him to get in and out of. I want to buy a car that we can have fun in together! The place where we live has a homeowner's association and each resident is only allowed 2 cars, so when I buy my next convertible then I would have to pay to store this one, as my husband also has a truck. Lucy Lou does not want to be stored, she wants to be DRIVEN! She runs like a dream. A blast to drive. Everywhere I go, I have folks stopping me to ask questions, as well as tell me all about a Spitfire that they have owned in the past. Either that, or they have a friend that owns one. It is a great car to restore completely. Needs some metal repair/replacement and new paint Engine: Rebuilt 20 years ago. Block was bored out .30 and replaced with new pistons. Crank was turned and new bearing installed Driven less than 1000 miles Transmission: In good working order with new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing when the engine was rebuilt. Brakes : New Master Cylinder 2016, New Brake Booster 2016, New Brake Hoses Front and Back Most brakes lines were just replaced Frame: Solid frame in good shape It has a hole as shown in a pic posted that should be repaired. Fenders: All are solid and not rusted I replaced these back about 12 years ago when I had the car painted. Rocker Panels: Need to be replaced to make original. Currently solid as pictured. Lower Rear Valance: Need to be replaced to make original. Worst part of the car. Floor Boards: Solid, has some surface rust in places Needs some repair Has some holes on Drivers side as pictured. The 1800 and 2000 roadster were produced soon after WW-II and there was an abundance of aircraft aluminum available and the body metal is aluminum. The front fenders (Called wings in Britain) are steel and quite solid. I purchased 1 of these from out of state and it was missing a lot of things and I them purchased 3 more locally. I gleaned the best parts form all of them and kept the best one and sold the rest as a lot. A local guy purchased them and later sold them to a restorer in Florida. There is a club for them in England and another small club in the USA. As I recall about 5000 total were produced. The 1800 cc version originally had 4 speed column shift and the later 200 cc version had 3 speed column shift. Stock they are quite sluggish but with modern Tr-4 A engines they perform quite well. Time got in the way and I never got around to restoring this one but a good friend restored his and has permitted me to use a few pictures of his in my listing so potential buyers can see what the finish product looks like. I spent a lot of time and money accumulating parts and materials and hate to give up but I am downsizing and selling a couple of my favorite cars. ( my 1940 LaSalle 4 door convertible is on eBay also). I purchased a TR-4A engine and had it rebuilt by reputable local British car shop and will sell it separately to buyer or on eBay. Some buyers may want to install different drive trains?? I purchased a Toyota transmission adapter kit so I could have 5 speed transmission. Original car was sluggish and had low top end speed. Toyota 5 speeds are 1-1 ratio in 4th gear and essentially 5th gear is an overdrive. Thr 5 speeds can be purchased at salvage yards for under $100 as I recall. I will sell the kit and transmission separately in case buyer is not interested The pictures do not do the car or parts justice. Restored headlights cost me $1200, instruments $800 and so forth. I have both the smaller hubcaps and full sized hubcaps and buyer can select either set Buyer to pick up or arrange for shipping. Google Triumph roadsters and look at the many different conditions and colors, also look through the website for the club. The club is a lot of help and I purchased many parts from the club and eBay Britain. At this point is is a pretty straight forward restoration. I even have the slightly curved glass for the windows in the dickey seat. (Rumble seat) I am having trouble adding pictures and will get some help. This auction includes thousands of dollars worth of parts I have purchased for the restoration, including the headlamps, wiring harness, rear window for convertible top, and so many more. If I can get the pictures in you will have more to look at for consideration. These cars are outstanding, and when I was at a car show with my friends roadster and my hot rod Lil Red Express truck people ignored my beautiful truck to crowd around his roadster. Ready for a mechanical makeover and to be the coolest little surf wagon in the sate of California, or an awesome candidate for a full-on restoration. (check out internet blogs of people putting V-8 engines in them!) These "TR10"s were only imported for two years to the US, and few are Estate Wagons. This classic was parked in a California barn for 43 years, waiting for someone to come along and save it. It was properly prepped and readied for start up. With new spark plugs and ignition, it fired like a champ. Cleaning up clutch, master brake, and wheel cylinders gave it ability to actually run down the street! This little Triumph starts, shifts, and stops. It is a complete and original car with a fold-down rear seat. Everyone that sees it sees it says it looks like the Chevy HR . . . this little TR is WAY ahead of its time! The mechanical parts for this car are readily available both here in the US and in Europe. Uses many of the Triumph electronics and engine parts. Questions: Is there any rust on it? - Yes. The floor boards in the front have some rust and there is some surface "patina". Do you have keys and a registration? - Yes and yes, through 2017. Has original Black plates and new white ones too Is all the glass present and not cracked? - Yes, and also a few aluminum beer cans can be found behind the seat. Hi I am selling my 1960 Triumph TR3 which I bought with the sole idea of completing a full restoration. Unfortunately, shortly after purchasing the car, I was diagnosed with cancer so any restoration work was put on hold while I underwent treatment. As I improved in health I thought it was time to resurrect my project but, unfortunately, my cancer problems returned, and after undergoing a long and very tiring additional round of treatments it’s time to admit that I no longer have the energy required to undertake this project. About the Car. I bought the car from a lady who inherited it from the estate of a loved relative. She told me how she remembered riding in the car as a child, and of all the good times she had. The owner, a doctor from Nevada, owned the car for many years and I have documentation of work he had done on the car during this time. They are included in the sale. Since then all the upholstery, carpets and door cards have been renewed and are shown in the pictures of the car. Also included are a small amount of spare parts I had started to gather, ready for the start of the restoration, along with books bought detailing a full restoration of the car. The car has a very sound chassis, bottom seals under doors are sound, as are the openings around both doors, a known weak point on these cars. The engine starts and runs with a good oil pressure, fifty pounds pressure at idle, shown in pictures. All Lighting is in working order. Now for the things that I know need looking at. The needle has come off the rev counter and this needs to be disassembled and reattached. I was going to replace the front and rear wings/fenders, as the front one has a split in it and the rear shows signs of filler. These unbolt, so replacement should not be that difficult or you can repair the ones on the car if you want to. Tires are new, although several years old, but show no signs of cracking, so it’s up to the new owner to decide what you want to do. This is a nice car for its age and an excellent base for a full restoration or just to do the basics and drive as is. The car is being sold as is with no warranty implied or given.
