Hi I am selling my 1960 Triumph TR3 which I bought with the sole idea of completing a full restoration. Unfortunately, shortly after purchasing the car, I was diagnosed with cancer so any restoration work was put on hold while I underwent treatment. As I improved in health I thought it was time to resurrect my project but, unfortunately, my cancer problems returned, and after undergoing a long and very tiring additional round of treatments it’s time to admit that I no longer have the energy required to undertake this project. About the Car. I bought the car from a lady who inherited it from the estate of a loved relative. She told me how she remembered riding in the car as a child, and of all the good times she had. The owner, a doctor from Nevada, owned the car for many years and I have documentation of work he had done on the car during this time. They are included in the sale. Since then all the upholstery, carpets and door cards have been renewed and are shown in the pictures of the car. Also included are a small amount of spare parts I had started to gather, ready for the start of the restoration, along with books bought detailing a full restoration of the car. The car has a very sound chassis, bottom seals under doors are sound, as are the openings around both doors, a known weak point on these cars. The engine starts and runs with a good oil pressure, fifty pounds pressure at idle, shown in pictures. All Lighting is in working order. Now for the things that I know need looking at. The needle has come off the rev counter and this needs to be disassembled and reattached. I was going to replace the front and rear wings/fenders, as the front one has a split in it and the rear shows signs of filler. These unbolt, so replacement should not be that difficult or you can repair the ones on the car if you want to. Tires are new, although several years old, but show no signs of cracking, so it’s up to the new owner to decide what you want to do. This is a nice car for its age and an excellent base for a full restoration or just to do the basics and drive as is. The car is being sold as is with no warranty implied or given. Arrangements for transport are the responsibility of the new owner although I will assist in any way I can. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE

Kurt Tanner (909) 241-1051 1307 E St. Gertrude Place • Building A Santa Ana California 92705 ? ? ? ? 1961 TRIUMPH TR3A SPORTS ROADSTER. RARE FACTORY BLACK WITH RED TRIM PIPED WHITE, WHITE WEATHER EQUIPMENT. 60-SPOKE WIRE WHEELS, 4-SPEED, LUGGAGE RACK. CORRECTLY SEQUENCED ENGINE NUMBER. FAIRLY COMPLETE CAR FOR FULL RESTORATION. Vehicle Information VIN: TS68564L Stock: 0124 Mileage: 41,662 Color: Black Trans: Manual Engine: Inline 4 OHV MPG: Drivetrain: RWD Description Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this fairly complete and original Triumph TR3A just out of long term storage. This car was purchased out of an estate from Lake Charles, LA. There is evidence of a Texas inspection sticker circa 1968 on the windshield. The car appears very complete with little missing and would be a good candidate for a full restoration. This model is the later "raised hinges" version with stiffer body pressings and other sheet metal improvements. It still retains it's believed matching numbers drivetrain, although currently the engine and steering is stuck, but the car is rolling fine. The body on the car would need at least the floors replaced, as well as some work on the trunk floor, which is now thin with some rust-through in several spots. The main inner and outer rockers, as well as the dogleg areas appear pretty solid. Panel fit is good and consistent with factory gapping. The chassis frame, although a bit scaly with some surface rust, appears good and solid with no holes apparent. The car includes the pictured loose parts with the important steering wheel trafficator assembly. The car still retains it's original VIN plate, although the two brass body tags are not present. An interesting note is the Lake Charles Sports Car Club badge. Also included is some old weather equipment such as the softtop and tonneau cover. The car is noted to be missing the air cleaners, which are available as new reproduction. The windshield glass looks to be in good shape. Overall, a decently straight and restorable car in a rare and desirable, attractive original color scheme. It is upgraded with the 60-spoke wire wheel option, modestly priced for the restorer. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. The description above is general in nature and not to be solely relied upon by buyer. Buyer to verify authenticity, matching numbers, condition, year, model, make, type, rarity or provenance and all other relevant information. This car is sold with a clear title and is available for inspection by appointment. This car is located in Southern California, 35 minutes (30 miles) from the Los Angeles Port of Long Beach. 1961 Triumph TR3A Roadster British Racing Green over Biscuit! Recently restored! 4-speed overdrive! Upgraded TR3B 2138cc motor! I am very pleased to offer this late model 1961 Triumph TR3A for sale! The car is finished in a classic shade of British Racing Green over a Biscuit interior. The car is powered by a 2138cc 4 from the later TR3Bs, a healthy upgrade from the original 1,991cc engine, and a fully synchronized 4-speed manual overdrive transmission! These are features found in the later “TR3B” and may suggest that this car was something of a predecessor to that car? The car is further fitted with several nice touches, including side curtain wind wings, electric radiator cooling fan, rack-and-pinion steering and 5.5” TR6 wheels. When the Triumph TR3 first appeared, in 1955, Triumph intended not simply to update the previous TR2 but also bring the Triumph driving experience and styling into the second half of the ‘50s! Being conservative by nature, Triumph debuted the car with the TR2’s 95 horsepower 1991cc 4 cylinder motor and drive train, which was actually more than enough for a car that weighed just over 2,000 pounds. However, Triumph then launched the “TR3A” in 1957. The “TR3A” further improving the car and incorporating wider front grille and becoming the first production car to feature front disc brakes! There were just 58,236 TR3As produced, of which less than 9,500 are documented to survive today! The ultimate iteration came in 1962 with the introduction of the TR3B, which later came standard with the TR4’s 2138cc engine making 105 horsepower and 127 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a full synchromesh 4-speed manual gearbox. This is a local New Mexico TR3A that has been totally frame off reconditioned over the last two years. The car was completely dissembled and sand blasted, then any rust was removed and replaced with new/repaired sheet metal. The body is very straight with excellent fit. Complete paint in a base coat/clear coat British Racing Green was done, all rubber replaced, new wiring harness, all trim, upholstery, and carpeting was redone and a new windshield installed. Engine and gearbox plus entire drivetrain rebuilt with new aluminum radiator and electric cooling fan, brakes, exhaust, suspension etc. Restoration is not Pebble Beach quality but very good for local shows and ready to drive anywhere. Interior has all restored gauges, lights and signals functioning as they should. Soft top frame has been restored with a tonneau cover and new side curtains. New wiring harness, trim redone with new windshield. Engine and overdrive gearbox plus entire drivetrain rebuilt with new carburetors, brakes, exhaust, suspension etc. Complete paint in British Racing Green, and all new leather and trim pieces in the cabin. The car runs and drives exceptionally well thanks to a recently rebuilt motor and transmission. The car makes for a very drivable and presentable example of one of Britain’s most popular roadsters and should make the next owner extraordinarily proud both at local shows and on short road trips! We would welcome any additional questions on this TR3A. Thanks for looking! I've had lots of questions, I’ll try to answer all that I can and stick them here at the bottom for everyone. I’ve had the car since the early ‘80s. March of 1983 I think. The odometer reads 33629 and I believe that to be the correct mileage, it has not been reset and, as I say, I've owned the car since early '83. I did a top level restoration right after I originally bought the car and drove it daily until the ignition failed in ’92. It then sat for several years until I decided to do a frame off restoration in 2008 or 2009. I pulled it down and worked on the restoration, on and off, till last spring when I more or less finished. I’ve been driving it occasionally since and, at the same time, ironing out some of the residual issues from the restoration. I have several other cars I’m working on and have garage space for them all, or did have till I bought a partially restored ’56 ford pickup and now I’m stuck for a place to put it. As it happens, I like restoring these guys more than I like owning them and since this one’s now done it’s the one my wife and I think should go. That is unless one of you wants a ’59 XK150 in pieces or a ’67 retro-model jaguar MK2? Anyway, here’s a partial list of the things I’ve done to the car: Newly rebuilt 2138 cc TR4 engineNew SU carburetorsRebuilt 4 speed with overdriveNew Performance Free-Flow ExhaustAdapted 5.5” TR6 wheelsTR4 rack and pinion steeringNewly rebuilt front suspension with new bushings and bearings Front anti-sway barAluminum radiator Electric radiator fan with thermostatic switchAll new or rebuilt gaugesNew switches throughoutNew wiring harnessNew base coat/clear coat paint, British Racing GreenNew upholstery, BiscuitNew carpet in the cab and bootNewly restored convertible top frameNewly Rebuilt side curtainsNew side curtain wingsNew windshieldLots of other new or restored parts like bumpers , grill, heater core, horns, even the shift knob and leather covered steering wheel. The car comes with a convertible top and a tonneau cover. As one of you wrote, it’s a very nice car. Please feel free to bid with confidence. If you have any questions or would like additional photos please feel free to email me.

This car was restored 8 years ago and driven only on sunny summer days. This car comes with a freshly painted white factory hardtop (the hard top will need a rear window and some detail parts) Carbs were just rebuilt last month and it runs excellent. The interior is perfect all leather seats and all panels, black with white piping with black carpeting . Has a new Robbins white convertible top and new black top frame cover. Also includes a white tonneau and fabric car cover. New high torque starter and have original starter. Heater core was an option in these cars and it has been just freshly pressure tested and restored. Chrome is superb and paint is a shiny as the day it was sprayed. this car has had a pampered life. There are uprated sway bars installed and a TR-4 trans (I also have the TR-3 trans).

This is a garage kept Florida car, newly restored by a company in Missouri with a new top, tonneau cover, full car cover. Has a new battery and runs like a charm. I have videos of the car being driven. Sounds great. Only driven to club events and car shows here in Florida. Purchase price is to be wired to my bank account. You pick the car up after funds are received and receive the title. See photos.

This lovely little car was purchased in Connecticut and driven to Halifax, Nova Scotia by me April 22, 2010. All purchase, customs, repair and regular maintenance records are available since that time. The overdrive is effective in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears as original and there is no synchro in 1st. The side curtains are new and the top and tonneau are like new and a small tool kit (not original) and some extra hoses and spare bonnet key are included as are new dash knobs, some of which are duplicates. A spare, in line, electric fuel pump has been installed along with a quick release battery terminal and a cigratte lighter terminal. The unit has been converted to negative ground. All chrome is either redone or replaced except for the windshield surround which has some tarnish. Wind deflectors have been installed. All lights, switches and instruments are in good working order except for the gas gauge which may read slightly high after reaching the half tank mark. The painted wire wheels are proper to the car and have good rubber attached. A good quality, fitted, car cover is included. Safety check, registration and insurance are all in order. A British Motor Industry Heritage Trust factory record is available from the owner and will be included if desired. The unit is being sold only because of lack of proper storage space and the accumulating age of the owner and I am informing fellow BATANS members prior to placing it on the international market.

A Beautiful head turner 1960 Triumph TR3A that is in great condition. It is a 2 owner and was restored prior to the current owners purchase in 1978 and it had about 500 miles on it and it now only has 1400 and some change on it so it has not been driven much but it was kept in a climate controlled garage the entire time and started up frequently to keep it up well and it starts right up and runs strong. Feel free to have a pre-purchase inspection or come take a look at it. It will not go down in value for sure. The gentleman is getting older and selling off his cars because he cannot drive them anymore. Call or email anytime with questions that you may have.my email is: [email protected] 913-908-8272 I can also assist with a shipping price as well for you too. Thank you and don't miss this one Joe

I hauled this car home on a trailer in 1992. The car was in one piece but needed a lot of work. The engine was completely rebuilt in the late 1990s and I filled it up completely with oil and stored it until the body work was done. The body was not removed from the frame as the car had leaked so much oil that the underside was completely coated and the frame was preserved. I installed a new door skin on the driver's door, two new rocker supports and rocker panels, driver's side floor pan, and a new four part rear fender on the driver's side. The body/paint/etc. work was completed in 2001. The under body was undercoated. The transmission was rebuilt in 2002 and the car was finally put on the road. Since 2002, the car has been driven about 300 miles per year. The dates listed above are approximate from memory. The car has never been rained on but it does have a tonneau cover and a convertible top, both of which are in the trunk. There are no side curtains. There are some minor blemishes in the paint. I took it in to University Motors last year for repairs because it was a hard starter and there was also a short in the wipers. They tuned the carburetors and installed a new control head. It starts easily now and the wipers work, both low and high speed. All gauges work. All lights work. The car is stock except I converted the cartridge oil filter to a spin-on filter, installed an electronic ignition system, installed an oil cooler, and installed a thermostat controlled fan for extra cooling. Triumph's were notorious for running hot, hence the oil cooler and extra fan. I recently bought a used valve cover on eBay and had it chromed. I installed it but do not like the way the oil filler cap fits. I still have the old valve cover, some spare parts, and a well thumbed manual. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE

1962 Triumph TR3B Roadster Rarest and Most Collectible TR3 with TR4 Engine & Full Synchromesh 4-Speed Transmission Triumph Racing Green with Biscuit Leather Interior Restored with Performance Upgrades Serial # TCF1354L About the TR3B The Triumph TR3B is an unofficial name given to the final version of the TR3 which was offered concurrent with the TR4 between March 1962 and October 1962. The TR3B was a special, short-production run by Triumph in response to dealer concerns that U.S. buyers might not welcome the new TR4. The TR3B appearance was identical to the late U.S. version of the TR3A. Two series of TR3Bs were produced, one with a serial number preceded by TSF of which 530 were produced and one with a serial number preceded by TCF of which 2,804 were produced. The TSF series were identical to the last run of TR3A with the 1998 cc (2.0) liter engine and the TR4 all-synchromesh gear box. The TCF series had the TR4 all-synchromesh transmission and the 2138cc (2.2) liter TR4 engine with 105 hp at 4,650 rpm and 127 ft lbs of torque at 3,350 rpm. Fuel mileage was around 20 to 30 miles per US gallon and the top speed was about 110 mph limited by the gear ratio. It weighed 2,137 lbs. Automobile Magazine (October 2013) featured the Triumph TR2/TR3 in its Collectible Classics series stating: “The TR3 packs a lot of style in a small package. These Triumphs feature great, down-swept bodywork and faired-in headlights that could almost make them a poor man's Jaguar XK120. With these cars, the styling isn't just something you admire from the outside; it's integral to the behind-the-wheel experience, as well. The cut-down doors, padded along the top, make for perfect elbow rests. Combined with the delicate, chrome-framed windshield, they create a real out-in-the-elements experience, almost like riding a motorcycle. These Triumphs offer the unfiltered British roadster experience, with style that belies their diminutive size. Performance that's better than many of their contemporaries makes them enjoyable on the road even today. Simplicity and widespread parts availability help keep them on the road tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, TR3 prices have been quietly sneaking higher but have yet to really skyrocket, leaving plenty of appreciation potential.” This CarLeft-hand drive TR3B built in August 1962 for export to North America. Numbers match the factory records - chassis, body, engine and transmission. Serial # TCF1354L , Body # 1917-TSF. Triumph racing green with biscuit leather interior. Chrome wire wheels. Original 2138 cc engine (TCF1401E) and 4-speed full synchromesh transmission (TSF1828). Original factory equipment included heater, black tonneau cover, all-synchromesh gearbox, 86 mm pistons/bore engine, windscreen washers, adjustable steering column, 590x15 whitewall tires. Three owners since 1974 (40 years). Ground-up restoration beginning with a numbers-matching car with very straight, original body panels and very little rust. Only the rocker panels under the doors were replaced, all the remaining panels are original. The chrome is original and in very good condition except the face of the right front bumper overrider on which the original chrome has peeled. The previous owner stated he spent over $50,000 on the restoration not including the cost of the car. Over $5,000 (parts only) in performance upgrades: - Rare 42 DCOE side draft Weber carburetors, - Exhaust header with Monza sport exhaust, - Stainless steel fuel tank, - Moto Lita steering wheel & adapter hubs, - (5) 15 x 4.5” wire wheels, knock off caps, etc, - Vredestein 185/70R15 tires. Interior has leather seating surfaces, door tops, etc. Black carpets & rubber mats. Black soft top, side curtains and tonneau cover. Soft top frame included but removed because the car is never driven in the rain. I decided not to install the side curtain anchors (included) since I will never use them and prefer the clean appearance of the door panels without them. Jack, brass hammer, tool roll, owners manual and spare. Great opportunity to buy a wonderful example of a TR3: - Rarest and most collectible TR3 with more powerful TR4 engine and full-synchromesh 4-speed transmission, - Stunning colors - Triumph racing green, biscuit & black, - Restored straight, solid, numbers-matching example, - Performance upgrades - Weber side-draft carbs, sport exhaust, Moto Lita steering wheel, etc. Terms If you have questions or a serious interest in buying this car, please send me a message via the eBay "Ask Seller a Question" function. Selecting the buy-it-now price option is a binding contract and is not an "option" to buy. Pre-purchase inspections are welcome and must be completed prior to executing the Buy-it-now option. The car is 52 years old and is sold as-is, where-is, with all faults. No warranties are expressed or implied. The car is located in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania approximately 20 miles from center city Philadelphia. The car can be seen by appointment. Seller is a private party owner who holds a clear PA antique title. The car is available for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the eBay advertisement at any time. The winning bidder shall send a deposit of 10% of the selling price by wire transfer or cashier's check within 48 hours of the end of the auction, and pay the balance in full within 7 days of the end of the auction.
