A near perfect 1968 Triumph TR250 for sale. No rust. A former Virginia car with a complete nut and bolt restoration. I have had the TR for 10 years- spent the last 7 in various stages of restoration. Has 1000 miles since being completed. Was shown 3 times and has 2 first place and 1 second place in class trophies. No disappointments here - drive any where and enjoy. If you are looking for a bone stock, original TR250 look elsewhere. This car has many upgrades to make it more enjoyable, reliable and safer. Body Details: Rust free body. Shell was sent to a local shop to have the following done - media cleaned and repairs done to front valance and radiator support, a new right floor and right rocker were installed using British Motor Heritage panels, otherwise all original panels that came with the car. Bare metal respray using Signal Red (factory TR color) with silver painted hood stripes. Quiet Ride sound padding kit, new door seals, new window tracks, new door and window weatherstripping, new window winder mechanisms, new latches, catches and lock assemblies, new convertible top with zip out rear window, new matching boot cover, etc. All new exterior chrome trim. hardware, and lights and lenses are NOS new. Frame Details: NEW Roadtronics frame (RATCO), original frame was marginal and needed heavy repairs, the frame was replaced with an updated design with none of the serious weaknesses of the original. Stronger front suspension mounts, better/stronger rear differential mounts, etc. Flexes less than the original frame and there are no creaks or rattles when driving. Current price for the frame alone is $4650.00. Engine Details: Fully rebuilt using .030 over AE pistons, Cam bearings were installed (the original TR design did not have cam bearings), Good Parts performance cam, street ported and polished head, .010 under polished crank, lightened/ balanced flywheel, lightened and balanced rods, APT fasteners, VP bearings, new seals , etc. Converted to Dual SU HS 6s rebuilt by Joe Curto, Bell Stainless steel sport exhaust. Rebuilt and recurved distributor by Jeff's distributors. New Roadster Factory Magic Clutch kit, all new clutch hydraulics, new fuel lines and fuel pump, fuel tank was dipped and internally coated. The TR runs very smoothly and pulls very strong, much quicker than stock ! Driveline details: Fully rebuilt 4 speed with all new seals, syncros, bearings, seals and gaskets, new u joints in drive shaft, rebuilt rear differential by The Roadster Factory with new shims, bearings and seals. Rear half shafts and rear hub/bearing carriers rebuilt by The Roadster Factory with new bearings and u joints. Suspension Details: Fully rebuilt front suspension including heavy duty front axles and bearing spacers, rebuilt steering rack from The Roadster Factory, tie rods, ball joints , poly bushings, new KONI shocks, and springs. New wheel bearings Fully rebuilt rear suspension using poly bushings, new springs, Good Parts rear camber adjusters andRatco rear coil over shock kit. Good parts adjustable front sway bar and non adjustable rear sway bar. VTO 5.5 x 15 inch alloys with new 195/60 tires Brake Details: All new brake lines, new brake master cylinder, new brake booster, fully rebuilt calipers, new pads, new rotors, ALFIN rear aluminum brake drums (rare), new rear shoes, new wheel cylinders, adjusters, springs ,etc. Interior Details: New Moto Lita steering wheel, New door handles and window winders, New dashboard, all gauges rebuilt with new chrome bezels (black bezels were original- but I like the look of the dash with chrome bezels- can be returned to original, new dash pads, new sun visors, new switches, new black Wilton wool carpets, new black with white beading interior panels, all gauges and switches work as original. New period correct seat belts. Has new Lucas 34 amp alternator, Perfect electrical system- everything works as designed! Car is currently fitted with Mazda Miata seats which are Tan Leather. They are very comfortable for long drives. Original seats in fair condition are included. The original bumpers and mounting brackets are included and are in good condition- ( I like the look of no bumpers). Five original steel wheels in very good condition are include in the sale. Brighton Motorsports is pleased to present this absolutely stunning, completely restored 1968 Triumph TR250. This car was purchased as a ‘work-in-progress’ from the fourth owner who had owned it for over 30 years. The car was mostly disassembled; with many parts and assemblies in boxes. It was impossible to drive it or to start the engine. The car you see is the result of approximately 4 1/2 years of restoration. All of the design and engineering of all modifications; the integration of all third-party equipment, and reassembly of the car and engine was done by the current owner. The interior of this stunning TR250 features Custom-dyed interior crash pads, center console support, and custom-made under-dash electrical control panels. Custom dyed center-mounted arm-rest console with integrated cubby along with Leather-covered TR250 seats with three point seat belts. Wool carpets with carpet pad and additional sound reducing underlayment. A Modern stereo/CD/MP3 with custom painted and mounted front and rear speakers. Roll bar-mounted fire extinguisher and third brake light. Custom designed and built Plexiglas wind-wings. Custom made trunk floor assembly provides a relatively level surface, covering smaller spare tire with 165 X 15 radial tire on a restored TR3 wheel. Custom ‘TR factory style’ tool-roll and car-color matched ‘working’ tool box. Under the hood of this TR250 features a Complete engine rebuild, with new pistons, bearings, valves, valve guides and tappets; all other components rebuilt. A Jet-Hot coated manifold and header pipe, with stainless steel exhaust system were also installed. Electronic Distributor less Ignition System (EDIS) from donor Ford V-6, includes Mega-Jolt computer controlled timing with near instant ignition advance. Radiator-mounted ‘pusher’ electric fan with thermostatic and manual controls. Custom made ABS fan shroud with integrated ‘cold’ ram-air input supply. K&N high performance air cleaners in the stock air cleaner housing fed from ‘cold-air’ intake adaptors. Ratco cable throttle control and improved throttle shaft bushings. KN ‘mag-style’ wheels with ‘fake knock-off spinners’ and P205 X 15 radial tires The Transmission includes a Complete rebuilt standard all synchro 4-speed transmission and Laycock de Norman Ville Type A electric overdrive, providing a total of 7 forward speeds, along with a Custom gear-shift mounted overdrive control. The electrical system has been upgraded and includes Up-rated and upgraded complete new wiring harness utilizing modern relay controls and bladed fuses. Up-rated 60 Amp AC Delco alternator and modern gear reduction starter Auxiliary electrical control panels mounted under dash. Custom-designed ‘Parking Brake ON’ warning light. Daytime running light module turns on head lights at reduced intensity for improved highway safety. Standard side-marker lights integrated into turn-indicator circuits with custom roll-bar mounted third brake light with solid state ‘flasher’, LED tail, turn, & stop lights for ‘brighter’ lamps and all for improved safety. Custom courtesy LED lights: under hood, glove-box, and trunk. Overall this 1968 Triumph TR250 is ready to go in every way.
