Porsche Boxster 2001 S Roadster For Sale Best Offer! Engine runs, but needs repairs Well, here beholds our beloved Porsche Boxster S that we have owned for almost 10 years. It has taken us everywhere and we absolutely adore this baby. I tried to do what I can to fix it up and put a lot of time and money already into it. Sadly, a bigger problem arized with it and we came to the realization of how expensive it is to fix it and out of our technician expertise. As you can see, this was going to be a project car and I was planning on customizing making it one of a kind. With the problems that have ocurred though, I just do not have the time anymore to work on this car and completely restore it. It is just sitting there now and I truly want it to have a new home with someone who can bring it back on the road. This is the 2001 Porsche Boxster S with the 3.2 L engine. It comes in a beautiful Ferrari Yellow color (as told when we purchased) and the interior is all black. This car engine runs great, but the only problem is that the head gasket is broken/popped off and needs to be replaced. It is VERY expensive and costs thousands of dollars to perform due to labor. So, this would be a perfect investment for a mechanic who knows how to work with Porsche and can fix it yourself. Here is a short video of how the car looks like all around and how the engine sounds upon start. As you can see, it runs pretty good, but cannot be driven longs periods of time as the head gasket is broken and can cause the car to spew white/grey smoke. In the video, the smoke is not present and seems to be random. However, if you do leave the engine on for 5 minutes plus, smoke will start to be present. Once again, this car is NOT a car that can be bought and driven!! It MUST be repaired first, the head gasket which is the main problem with this car before it can be driven. Please understand that what you see is what you get. This car is NOT meant for someone who is looking for a daily driver. It is a car that needs to be repaired. We are the third owners of this car since around 2005 and have a clear title of this car in hand. The previous owners of this car really messed it up a lot and we had to fix it up many times. It really is a beauty and it just sucks that it had to have such expensive problems. I would love to keep it forever, but at the moment, I just don't have the time and need to clear up space for our driveway. Car has had services done before including flushing the oil out. We have recently flushed out the oil and added brand new oil at least half a year ago. Some other components and parts about the car that needs to be repaired - One cupholder is broken- The seats power function is broken- Windshield fluid tank has a hole- Middle compartment hinge Body of the car also has a couple of dents and scratches. All the 911's vices were excised, and the handsome roadster body was clearly a tribute to great Porsches of the past. And the coolest thing of all is that the design evolved slowly, so this 2003 Boxster S looks an awful lot like a newer model, especially with those wheels. Nobody but you has to know what a screaming bargain it really was. Finished in Arctic Silver, this slick little roadster represents the best of Porsche design. Hard core enough to be a wonderful track-day weapon, but as reliable as a wood stove so you can drive it every day, no other car manufacturer has yet matched that combination. The shape is instantly recognizable, from the 911-inspired front end to the air intakes just ahead of the rear wheels, to the center-exit exhaust system, there's nothing else like a Boxster. This one has also been beautifully preserved and maintained by a Porsche enthusiast, and as a result shows no evidence of the daily grind. The nose is clean, the rockers haven't been shredded by sticky tires throwing up stones, and the finish is deep and glossy. Porsche quality is legendary, and even on a car that's now more than 10 years old, the fit and finish are notably better than most new cars being built today and you can feel it in every single component. It has never been hit and as a southern car all its life, it has never seen inclement weather. Like I said, it's easy to mistake this one for a much newer car. The black interior features arguably better ergonomics than the venerable 911, along with plenty of stretch-out room despite the mid-engine design and folding top. Leather seats are grippy yet comfortable for long hauls and the leather seating surfaces show minimal wear and only a few signs of careful use. White-faced gauges are laid out in traditional Porsche fashion, with a big tachometer front and center and the other gauges to either side, and the fun-loving font on their faces shows that even the Germans have a sense of fun. Everything remains in very good condition, especially for a convertible from the south, further evidence that this car has been cherished throughout its life. Overhead, a black convertible top folds easily and stows neatly behind the seats. The forward section forms a flat deck surface, eliminating the need for a boot, and a wind block has been fitted between the seats. The Boxster also includes TWO trunks, one behind the engine in the usual location and one up front in, well, the usual location for a Porsche. Porsche gave the Boxster S an upgraded 3.2 liter flat six, whose sonorous exhaust note and distinctive flat six sound will have you blipping the throttle under every overpass. As a mid-engine design, most of the service access is from underneath, which leaves those trunks fore and aft and giving this car the storage to be a legitimate long-distance cruiser. The engine fires up easily and pulls eagerly in all six gears, yet still manages impressive gas mileage for a car with this much performance. The suspension remains agile, the big brakes are highlighted by bright red calipers, and the overall look is augmented by a set of gorgeous 5-spoke 18-inch Porsche wheels, giving it an updated look. Vintage Boxsters represent tremendous performance for the money, and this well-maintained example is ready for another decade of fun. If the seller has sold you a certified used vehicle, the warrant of merchantability is not disclaimed. Taxes and Registration fees: Out of state buyers are responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title service fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. All taxes and fees must be paid in full in order for vehicle to be titled and registered. Fees for taxes and tag are not included in the price. There may also be a document processing charge for which the buyer will be responsible. Title Information: Vehicles titles may be held by banks or lenders as collateral for loans. In many cases there is a delay in receiving the original instruments up to 21 days from the time we pay a vehicle off. While we usually have all titles in our possession at closing, there are occasions where we may be waiting for them to arrive. If payment is made by cashier's or personal checks we will hold all titles for 10 days or until funds have cleared. Shipping & Delivery: All shipping charges are buyer's responsibility. Momentum Porsche will help with shipping arrangements but will not be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage! Licensed Carriers are generally insured for $3,000,000.00. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the vehicle leaves our showroom. All shipping arrangements are provided by Momentum Porsche as a courtesy. We are not affiliated with any carrier. Any claims or other communication regarding shipment of vehicles will be between you and the shipper, not with Momentum Porsche. The amount of time it takes for delivery is dependent on the carrier, but is generally 7-14 days from the date the vehicle is picked up from our facility until it is delivered to your destination. Verify with the shipper for an Estimate Time of Arrival to be sure. Finalizing your Purchase: Momentum Porsche will contact the successful high bidder by e-mail after the auction closes. Within 72 hours of bid closing, Buyer must send balance of funds by bank wire transfer, cash in person, bank certified funds to Seller. At time of sending initial deposit, Buyer MUST fax copy of their State issued valid Driver License.
