2002 Porsche Boxster 2002 Porsche Boxster Convertible 5 Speed and 72K Miles Needs Clutch Work

Here is a very clean Porsche in excellent condition with low miles. This Porsche has never been crashed or damaged in any way other then the small ding above the back passengers wheel. This ding was probably from a rock from the road. The AUTOCHECK record ran on 01/24/2014, is clean on this car. All the Kumho tires are in excellent condition with lots of tread left on them, about 3/16". The front tires are 205/50R17 and the back are 255/40R17. the spare tire is brand new. The brakes are in good condition. The clutch was depressed while driving and never came back up, so it needs clutch work. There are regular and side airbags on this car. The interior has leather upholstery. The automatic climate control system module was replaced 2 years ago. There is a new ignition in it. This model is the 2.7L H6 MPI with about 200 HP motor. This car does have electric windows. The top is in excellent condition but the back soft window could use a little help. Its mostly in good condition with one small area that is worn. This has a pioneer sound system and a 4 CD player. The radio control display comes out and pops up to display all the options such as, DVD, SDVD, MCD, TV, Ipod, EXT, NAVI, XM, Sirius, etc. I am the second owner and have put about 2300 miles on it in a year and a half. I will include all the paper work and manuals for it. It has been stored in the garage. Also it does have a spot for a cigarette lighter, but the lighter is missing. I purchased this Porsche from Morries Luxury Autos near Wayzata Minnesota. Please ask any questions before bidding , because I am probably leaving something out. Mileage is approximate.

2000 Porsche Boxster SS 3.4ltr, 5-spd, 315 HPThis 2000 Boxster started life as base 2.7ltr from 2000, with a 5-speed manual transmission and an E-gas throttle. It is Alpine White with a blue top and interior. In 2005 (at 35k miles) the original engine was swapped out for the much more powerful Carrera 996 3.4ltr motor. The original programming of the DME for the upgrade was performed by FVD, with recent upgrades by Softronics. In 2005, this engine upgrade cost over $20k to have done, as it included the DME programming, engine, mounts, sport clutch, high flow intake, etc. It is, and always has been, a rust free vehicle., so when the factory engine no longer functioned this upgrade was the obvious way to go.It currently has a full Cayman exhaust. it originally had Schnell headers on it, but had to remove them for the California visual part of the smog inspection. It had to have all 4 Cats. Previous owner purchased the car at 35k miles and it now has 92k. the engine is about the same. 11 years of faithful service as a regular commuter (60 miles round trip). Was just was offered a 997 Turbo at a deal I cannot refuse, so I need to make the room. The body is in excellent shape with only one small door ding in the rear fender and minor parking bumper ding on lower front spoiler. Rest of the body panels are great.Overall, this is a rocket ship and BLAST to drive. The car is docile enough to drive everyday, yet put your foot down and it shoots forward with force. The mid-engine design makes this handle like a dream and the extra power just makes it that much more fun. I have owned a number of Porsches in my life, and this might be one of my favorites (ok, make that the best all around) I've owned. Additional featuresIt has cruise control, but to be honest, I usually do not use it. Tested it the other day and does not seem to engage. Will leave it to next owner to repair or leave.AC is ICE COLD! Automatic Climate controlThe wheels were a rare option at the time. They are Hockenhiem design, a 17" upgrade.There is no smoke, ever, out the exhaust that I have seen. Never raced, street or track.High Flow IntakeNew Optima battery installed, lighter and higher capacity than factory, with no acid or filling requirements. Clean no-accident CarFax. Maintenance: No CEL lights have ever come on in the 11 years since the conversion. The oil has always been changed every 5,000 miles with Mobil 1 and factory Mann filters. New fuel pump, AOS (air-oil separator), oil filler tube, and coolant reservoir tank in 2016. (typical Boxster problems)New front Metal Master brake pads. New front hood releaseTemp gauge reads actual temperature, not stuck at 180 until too late like factory. It now peaks out at about 200 when both fans are on. New Sumitomo HTZ lll tires in the back (one month old) and fronts are Continental Extreme Contact and about 1/3 gone. The serpentine belt and spark plugs were replaced at 80k. What does it need?Not much other than a driver!The interior is in good condition except for the driver's seat which has some MINOR bolster leather cracking. (typical). Not torn, just cracked. See picture, not very bad, but there.Never has had IMS issues, so never had any upgrades done. It has the optional cup holder console, but the plastic hinge is broken.The rear window is clouded up, so visibility through it is at times can be challenging. It is the second top the car has had in the 16 years of its life, so not surprising. Doesn't leak and looks decent overall. SummaryUpgrading from a weak 217HP motor to the 3.4ltr 315HP version transformed the Boxster into what it should have been originally. It took Porsche over 10 years to realize this.The Boxster is completely California legal and passes emissions so low they have trouble measuring it.Previous owner was very happy with the conversion for over 11 years, and it was extremely well done conversion. Passenger seat has a small round stain, approx. 3/8" in diameter. Passenger interior door handle has small tear. Vehicle resided in Columbus Ohio until owner’s recent passing. We performed full service including new alternator, new starter, synthetic oil service, and annual cleaning with cabin filter replacement. Top functions correctly and is in excellent condition. This is an exceptionally nice 1997 Boxster inside and out. An expensive clear transparent protective coating has been added over the paint on the front part of both front fenders, front bumper, both exterior mirrors and other places of the body that are prone to rock chipping. The car handles and drives wonderfully. The engine is strong, smooth and quiet with a lot of power. The interior is very nice. The leather seats and dash are in excellent condition. (see pictures) The tires are New and the rims are original in excellent condition. The disc brakes are great and stop wonderfully and the 5-speed shifts real smooth with incredible ease that's assisted by good no slip clutch. It has the optional Sport Package that includes; P63 Sport Package 17" Boxster wheels/tires Wind deflector - (the clear insert is missing) Sound package Cruise Control Alarm systemIn-dash compact disc player - (this has been updated with KENWOOD CD-Receiver with USB Direct Connection made for iPod & Phone). The convertible top is in good condition. The rear window has been repaired it is still clear and easy to see out. The car was always garaged. It's scheduled for a complete alignment this week because new tires were put on. This 1997 Porsche Boxster was the first production year for the Boxster. This car is a fine example of how great the Porsche Boxster can look 20 years after. This is an exceptionally nice car. There are a couple little tiny dents; one is the little on passenger front fender near the head light. There is a tiny one on the passenger wheel well that's hardly noticeable. There are NO ROCK CHIPS on this car because of the protective clear film that was professionally put on this car. There is a small 1" clear coat scuff on the hood but the paint is not damaged.
