1970 Pontiac GTO Hardtop                             Very well kept, one family owned from brand new! Specially ordered with all the exact options they wanted.  Fitted with air conditioning, variable-ratio power steering, power disc brakes, automatic transmission, and more!  Only 60,000 original miles and 100% numbers matching!   The muscle car market was already starting to feel the pressure of raising fuel and insurance costs, so sales were started to decline. At Pontiac, the GTO continued to lead the way for the performance savvy buyer.  New for 1970 would be the refresh to the front end highlighting the four individual headlamps, still wrapped inside the Endura urethane bumper.   New stiffer front and added rear sway bars enhanced the cornering capabilities, along with new variable-ratio power steering giving further ease to steering along with a shorter turning radius.  Engine options continued with high horsepower output, and options remained abundant to personalize your GTO anyway you preferred! We are proud to have this one family owned 1970 Pontiac GTO Hardtop on our showroom. It is finished in its factory appointed color of Polar White (10) with Dark Gold Cordova top (H) and Brown upholstery (253).  Under the hood lies the factory original, number’s matching 400ci V8 producing 350 horsepower and column-shifted Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, mated to an economy 3.23 axle ratio.  All of which have traveled just 60,492 actual miles!  Options on this special GTO include air conditioning, power front disc brakes, variable-ratio power steering, all Soft-Ray window glass, AM radio with windshield antenna, 14” Rally II wheels with raised white letter tires, tilt column, and front floor mats! A remarkable example that has always been garage kept from new, after being purchased from Thoms Pontiac, Inc here in St. Louis, MO. It has received only one repaint over the years.  More recently, the car was treated to a complete mechanical freshening that included all new fuel tank, tank straps & isolators, fuel sending unit, fuel filter, all new shocks, new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, all new engine fluids, replacement radiator hoses & clamps, new alternator & battery, and rebuilt & charged a/c system.  It starts perfectly easy, idles wicked smooth, shifts without hesitation, brakes dead straight, and simply runs excellent!  Very impressive in every respect with everything fully functional!  It will come with owner’s manual, PHS documentation, and all tire changing equipment fitted in the trunk with new mat and spare tire cover.  Please feel free to call with additional questions or to schedule a chance to review this unique GTO in person. This is a very rare chance to get an almost totally original 66 GTO with matching numbers. I have a BRAND NEW CLEAR NC TITLE IN MY NAME. Try to find another one at this price and this complete. This car needs and deserves to be restored, and I am just unable to do it. This car must be sold and this may be your last chance to buy an inexpensive GTO project car. This GTO was sitting in a field for about 30 years. It is completely unmolested and almost untouched. No Bondo, no welding or patches-all original GM sheet metal. The matching number engine will need to be overhauled-not running now. Needs new floor pans. Trunk lid will need to be replaced. All the dashboard dials work, including radio. Door cards are decent and can be improved with TLC. Check the pictures-you have matching numbers on the engine! Doors close and fit well, as does hood. All 4 windows crank up and down. Seats can easily be restored. Mirrors are original and intact. Grill, headlights and trim are in good shape, along with rear lights. All the original GTO badges are on the car, including those on the door cards. The 1966 GTO is one of the most valuable cars when restored, going into 6 figures. I can deliver up to 100 miles of KING, NC for $250.00, otherwise buyer is responsible for picking up or shipping this car. Down Payment of $1000 must be made within 48 hours. The balance of the payment must be paid IN CASH within 72 hours of winning the auction. If paying with Cashier's check, it will have to clear before car changes hands. No exceptions. There are absolutely no guarantees or warranties either stated or implied. I will not be responsible for any omissions or errors associated with this transaction. I am happy to allow personal inspection of this car with an appointment.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE The legendary ’64 GTO was the top-selling first-year model in Pontiac history and is widely regarded as The One that kicked off that American muscle car movement in 60s. This original 2237 GTO hardtop has been meticulously restored inside and out and is immaculate. It features a high-end base coat clear coat two-tone paint job with white sides and blue metallic top and finished with 8 coats of urethane clear, wet sanded and buffed to glass-like perfection. This car was built in Fremont, California and sold in Reno, Nevada, where it spent most of its life. We have the purchase documents from Winkel Motors, Inc. in Reno. I purchased the car two years ago after finding it in a barn where it had been sitting in storage for 15 years. I just finished a two-year complete restoration from bumper to bumper and am ready to sell her so I can move on to my next project. Being an original West Coast car, it had very little rust when we got it. We changed the floor and trunk pans but the car maintains its original doors, quarter panels, fenders and hood. All new rubber gaskets, emblems, door handles and key locks were installed. The interior has a new complete factory interior, including headliner and door panels, new carpet and a new factory Pontiac Sport steering wheel. A custom-built center console was installed with gages and a B&M automatic shifter and we also added a new JVC stereo system, even though the original factory-installed AM radio is still there. The Pontiac 400ci engine, which came from a 1970 Firebird, was completely rebuilt, bored 60 over with new pistons and mild cam. The heads have been completely redone. A new high torque starter and electronic ignition were installed as well as a new water pump, alternator and Holley fuel pump. We added a new chrome air cleaner, new motor mounts, new aluminum high rise intake with a new Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor and new high polished aluminum radiator with shroud. To complete the package, a new complete factory dual exhaust system with headers was installed. The transmission is a 350 turbo, professionally rebuilt with a 1,800 stall convertor and B&M transmission kit with deep B&M chrome pan. So, what else is new? A new factory gas tank, sending unit and factory gas lines were installed. All new brake lines and brake system with brake booster and master cylinder plus all new front and rear shocks. New tires on 15x8 chrome 5-spoke wheels. New factory trunk floor mat, trunk liner and hood insulator. New headlights. New front and rear wiring harnesses. With only 150 miles on her since we finished the restoration, this is a great car that will draw non-stop looks, thumbs-ups and compliments. To be sure, this is not your run-of-the-mill restoration job. On a scale of 1 to 10, the car is a 9.5, only because it’s a non-numbers-matching car. With over $30,000 in documented receipts for this two-year restoration, no detail has been overlooked. When I say she is perfect inside and out, I mean it. Even the undercarriage and engine compartment are pristine, which is not the case with most restorations. This car is a show winner and runs unbelievably. It sounds just like a GTO should … mean … GR-RRR!

Here we have a 1965 Pontiac GTO for sale. This way cool street/strip cruiser is built to go fast but still has enough street manners to drive it to shows and go cruising! This car is a blast to drive on the street and sounds nasty! The car has been 11.40's in the quarter mile in race trim(open headers, and slicks) and 11.60's in full street trim. That's through the full exhaust, out the tailpipes, with street tires! I know there is more left in it with more testing and tuning. The GTO was raced briefly in the NMCA Nostalgic Super Stock class. It still has all the legal NHRA equipment to run in that class or other classes all the way down to 10.00 in the1/4 mile. There is probably less than two dozen runs on the drive train. I personally raced the car 3 weeks ago and it ran 11.60's flawlessly in street trim on a humid ( around 2500' altitude) day. I figure the engine makes around 550 HP at the crank! This GTO has been a hot rod for along time. The floors, frame and trunk are solid and original except for where they have been modified for the roll bar and fuel cell. The body is nice with some defects like chips, scratches and a few small imperfections on the passenger side lower door, quarter, and driver front fender( shown in pictures). The base/clear paint would be described as a ten footer. The paint looks good, and has decent shine, but has some blotches and thin spots on the lower part or the doors. It has a cool nostalgic patina look to it! The stock GM front and rear bumper have been re chromed. The hood is a LeMans flat hood that has been modified with a scoop for the dual carbs. All of the hood bracing and stock hinges have been removed for weight savings. It still lifts up, but requires a prop rod that is kept under the hood. The interior is good with very nice carpet, door panels and headliner. The factory front bucket seat are decent with some flaws and one split seem on the drivers seat. The dash is nice , but has been modified with no heater controls, and radio delete plate. The back seat area has been carpeted because of the roll bar installation. All the street equipment needed such as lights, turn signals, hazards, wipers, speedometer, etc work! I will try and give all the details on the drive train the best I can. So, here goes. Engine - Race prepped 455 pure Pontiac !
