This Mercedes Benz 240d is in very good condition for its age, drives and steers great, original paint looks great, has rock chips and dings but from 5' away the car can look flawless(see pics).Dash is in great condition has slight crack and one other small imperfections, shows some age(see pics). The luxury 240d will still turn heads everywhere it goes. first owner took Immaculate records from 1976 to 1997 where it racked up the vast majority if its low original miles just 89k, car comes with a very thick binder of maintenance during that time also with many manuals and booklets. This 1982 Mercedes Benz 240D drives very well and is in immaculate condition, inside and out. It is a two owner car that has been garaged its entire life and has been continuously maintained at Mercedes dealerships. The current owner has owned this beauty for 28 years and has used it mostly to commute on weekends to and from a resort community. Paint on the car is the original color which was redone several years ago and looks great and shows very well. All the doors open and close properly and they all have that pleasing Mercedes door-closing sound. The tires are nearly new Michelins with plenty of tread left on them. The brakes have been recently redone and provide for sure and safe stopping. The car drives smoothly and straight and has recently had the front end aligned and inspected. The transmission shifts smoothly with no unusual noises or vibrations. This car has always been properly and expertly maintained. The owner has always had the MB dealer change engine oil every 3000 miles and adjust the valves every 10000 miles and the engine starts easily and runs perfectly. Although the car has 250000 miles on it, this Benz has plenty of worry free miles left and, in fact, well maintained 240D cars routinely last over 500000 miles. The interior of the car has also been well maintained. The dash has no cracks, all the electrical equipment works properly and all the upholstery is in great condition. The car has a working electric sunroof. The only flaw in this immaculate car is a slight rust hole in the spare tire well in the trunk. There is no other rust on the car. This Mercedes is being sold because the current owner has purchased a new Mercedes SUV and has reluctantly decided to sell this car. My father who was a nuclear engineer at Millstone nuclear power plant for 25 years, just loved to tinker with cars! This 1983 Mercedes-Benz W123 240D sedan in Dark Blue (paint code 904) with palomino interior is an unrestored survivor that is visually and mechanically near excellent. With just over 149K on the odometer the4 cylinder engine starts runs wonderfully with no smoke. To say this car is well maintained is an understatement. This car has been pampered throughout its life having always been stored in a garage and meticulously serviced. There’s really no rust whatsoever on this car except for some superficial rust in the front passenger side which can easily me attended t. A look in the engine bay proves this car has been very well maintained through its lifetime and in the last year has received a lot of new components including water pump, alternator, hoses battery and brakes. The engine is extremely tidy and the fluids are clean. While there is some patina on the head there all of the components are clean and free of corrosion. Anyone would be proud to lift the lid on this vehicle at a car show or enthusiast gathering. On the road the engine is lively and the steering is accurate. With a strong suspension and tight front end the car drives and stops exactly like it should. Inside the car feels fresh and clean. The radio is aftermarket but the AC system works wonderfully and all of the controls operate as designed. The seats are clean and nearly as new and the carpets have been protected by secondary mats making them pristine, If you are looking for a clean 240D to enjoy as a classic or show this is a perfect candidate. I am selling my '83 Mercedes 240D. I am the second owner and I bought this car from a family friend, who was also the original owner, this last October. I am selling it since I have moved into a new apartment and do not have the parking space for both of my cars anymore. The car is in excellent condition both in and out, there are no cracks in the leather or interior and the engine runs great. The sunroof is also fully functional. Windows and locks are manual, not power. The car passed NV smog no problem. It is a 4 speed manual transmission and with only 183k miles; which works out to this car being driven less than 6000 milles per year. It has been well taken care of and this car is still cherry since diesel engines are known to run well above 500k+ miles.The only fault with the car is a hole in the upholstery in the ceiling in the back seat, which was caused by my wife pulling her skis out of the back of the car at the wrong angle and thereby making the hole. It also does not have a radio installed, wiring is primed and ready for one though. I am willing to negotiate on the asking price; however, I know what this car is worth and I am in no rush to sell it, so please, do not low ball on the asking price.
