Mercedes-Benz Classics 1965 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Cabriolet You can view this this beautifully restored Cabriolet through 1/22 in Scottsdale, AZ, about a mile from the Mercedes dealer. Please call or text 213-822-4485 or email [email protected] in order to set up an appointment. This was a serious and costly restoration. Over $275,000 has been invested in this epic project. Over 3,000 hours of meticulous restoration work over the course of 7+ years. Only 2,729 were ever built to begin with. There simply are no comparables! This 220SE Cabriolet has been restored in the factory midnight blue, color code {904}. A magnificent paint job was done on a bare body with extreme attention to detail both inside and out. Engine bay fully restored to factory specifications using every hose clamp available from that era. Engine, transmission and rear end have all been rebuilt, as well as the front suspension, using new parts from Mercedes-Benz wherever available. The injection pump was rebuilt by Gus Pfister, founder of Pacific Fuel Injection in Northern California, highly regarded as the best place to get these injection parts serviced. The interior was completely redone in the factory using Mercedes-Benz parchment leather. Rather than purchasing a leather seat kit, the seat patterns were crafted from scratch, copying the original seat covers. Carpet was also tailored to the car and not a kit that most people buy online and throw in there hoping that it will adjust itself to the car. The outside door handles were purchased brand new, as well as the lock on the trunk. Our interior guy has only been working on our cars exclusively, which have been only Mercedes Benz and occasionally a Rolls Royce or Ferrari, for the last 35 years. Factory Blue German canvas and original Headliner materials used to rebuild the soft top frame from the bottom up. Every molding has been re-chromed by the best shop in Los Angeles. We also purchased a set of burl wood from Mercedes Benz in Germany circa 1986, fully aware that we'd find good use for it in this 220SE Cabriolet. All brand new factory Mercedes glass was purchased for this project 14 years ago, including a Brand new windshield and molding. It's equipped with brand New European headlights and tail lights items that are no longer available today, a professionally rebuilt factory installed Becker radio and a brand new Hirschman electric antenna; also an item that can no longer be purchased today at any price! There are too many other parts to list. We upgraded the differential to disc brakes for better braking performance, installed all 4 brand new rotors and calipers, brand new bilstein shocks all the way around, 5 brand new Phoenix tires, new master cylinder, replaced brake hoses, and re-cored the radiator. Both, the undercarriage and the trunk were completely redone; detailed with cad plated fuel and brake lines and all new brackets to hold them up. ALL ORIGINAL, not messed with.This is a 4 speed on the floor manual transmission all original Arizona/California Mercedes 220D BOX A Arizona title (original mileage) with 94,259 miles on the working odometer.Never painted. Original paint. Not faded.It includes a Mercedes dealer receipt and warranty for a replacement diesel engine in 1998 when the car had 44,707 miles on it.It runs and drives perfectly, no drips, no leaks. You could keep it just as is.Or, you could replace the carpets and headliner and drive it with pride as a daily driver. Or, you could also re cover the seats which have one or two small blemishes, mostly on the top of the back seat under the rear window. Original radio included. Does not appear to work. It had an aftermarket radio in it which I removed. Original Becker will be in the trunk.Everything else works, horn, lights, signals, blower.Needs:Both interior lights cracked, not working.There is a pin sized hole in the hood over the positive post of the battery. I assume someone tried to jump it and the hood fell down and arced.Front windshield has a crack in it.The drain connection in the passenger side front footwell has some rust. See pictures.There is no other rust in this car.One hub cap is the wrong color.AC works, blows cool. Just needs juice. This car was thoroughly safety checked and all flex brake lines were replaced, brake lines flushed, all fluids changed, motor mounts replaced, good tires put on it.You could drive it home if you wanted to.

This 3.5 is a European model and was verified by the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center as having left the factory a 3.5 liter V8 engine with a 4-speed manual gearbox and delivered new to Europe. The car was imported to the United States sometime in the 1990’s and has been in AZ until moving to Southern California where it was placed in a large private collection in the mid 2000’s where it has resided ever since. The car has undergone a repaint in Mercedes Silver Grey Metallic and has a beautiful finish. The paint on the car was done sometime in the mid 2000’s along with many new rubber and trim pieces, all new Mercedes-Benz wood, a complete mechanical refresh and service, new suspension and front end and a re-work of the electrical system. In 2013 the car had a new timing chain and tensioners, belts and hoses, plugs and wires done and brand new period tires just put on the car last week. The paint finish is beautiful, there are no scratches, dents or dings on the car and there is absolutely no rust damage anywhere on the car or any rust repair work found. The undercarriage of the car is solid and clean and well presented. There are no signs of any accident damage or repair work of any kind. All of the chrome shows very well with light pitting in some areas but over all a very nice shinny finish with minimal age (one small dent in the passenger rear taillight chrome housing). The leather interior is completely original and in beautiful condition showing light patina. The car has traveled 81,890 actual miles and the interior shows exceptionally well. The leather has some age marks and slight creasing but there are no tears or damage to the leather. The carpets are the original German carpeting and show well for their age. All of the wood and switch gear are in outstanding condition. The engine starts right up and runs smoothly and does not smoke on start up or idle. The transmission shifts smoothly into gears without any grinding or slipping and the clutch has an excellent pedal feel without any slipping or fade. The brakes are solid and free from any fading or grinding. The steering is nice and tight and solid without any play or drifting. All of the electrical equipment is operating as designed including all of the exterior lights, turn signals, reverse lights, brake lights, taillights and headlights and all of the interior lights are functioning. The courtesy lights come on with the doors, the glove box light is working and all of the dash lights are working and the original power antenna and original Becker radio. The factory AC is blowing cool and on all of the fan speeds. This is an outstanding running and driving 3.5 Mercedes-Benz Euro delivered Coupe with the very rare factory 4-speed manual gearbox. brand new SL model to replace the 190 and the 300. Unveiled at the March 1963 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz launched the 230SL Coupe/Roadster with a standard removable hardtop and stoway canvas soft top. A distinct concave hardtop was designed for the car and lead way to the nickname “The Pagoda SL”. In 1967 Mercedes-Benz introduced the 250SL with a slight increase in horsepower, stiffer suspension and new rear disc brakes. In December of 1967 Mercedes once again unveiled an improved W113 SL, the 280SL. This time with an increased engine to 2.8 litres and 170hp. The 280SL was built for model year 1968-1971 and of the 23,885 built, only half came to the United States. The 280SL has become an iconic classic in the motoring world and has shown over the past few years’ excellent investment potential. This stunning 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Roadster finished in Red (576) two toned Black with Black Leather interior and a black convertible roof. This 280SL left the Mercedes-Benz production line in May of 1970 and was sold new in the US. The car was ordered with a 4-speed manual gearbox and two tone paint. The car has been in the same ownership for the past 30 years and has recently undergone an engine rebuild and transmission rebuild along with new suspension and steering components. The car has been re-painted in its original factory color combination and was dismantled. The body is beautiful and laser straight. The original weld spots are found in both front fenders and the original notches are in both fenders. The original hood number is still present along with the hardtop number and convertible hard boot number. There is no rust found anywhere on the car and the undercarriage is exceptionally clean free from any damage repair or rust. The paint shows very well and has a beautiful deep luster to it. The chrome all looks to be in excellent condition with minimal pitting or age showing. All of the trim and gaskets appears to be newer and in excellent condition. The interior looks to be original and in excellent condition showing only minimal signs of age. The convertible top is brand new and the high quality canvas. All of the dash chrome looks good for its age and shows some signs of pitting but very presentable. The wood has all been re-done and looks beautiful. The car starts right up and idles beautifully and does not smoke under acceleration or start up. The car does not leak any fluids and accelerates smoothly through all of the gears. The clutch feels excellent and solid and the gears do not grind or slip. The suspension is nice and tight and free from any noises and the steering is nice and tight free from any drifting or play. All of the electronics are functioning as designed including all of the dash lights, center console lights and transmission bezel light. The courtesy lights, headlights, turn signals, reverse lights, brake lights, taillights, high beams and side marker lights are all working. The car comes with its original owners handbook, warranty book, dealer book, hardtop/softop tool, original jack, spare tire and cover, and the original tool roll from the factory. Judging by the service stickers in the door jam and the condition of the original chrome, we have very good reason to believe this was a lifelong California car! The black paint on the car was just redone in its original color of code 040 Schwartz Black and is in overall very good condition paint job and does not appear to have any bondo repair or previous collision damage. The car was completely disassembled for paint. All stainless trim was sent out for polishing. The grille was disassembled, the mesh section was powder coated to prevent chipping, and new cross bars and clips were used when putting back together. The headlight bezels and wheel trim rings were re-chromed. The remaining chrome on the car is all in excellent original condition and we saw no need to mess with the originality. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as any well cared for garaged car should be, and has never been in any accidents. The car is riding on original steel Mercedes wheels and hubcaps. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in good shape. The interior is all original condition all around. The supple black seats are all in good condition and look very nice, which shows the quality of material used in this car with a few small flaws. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. The interior wood panels appear to have had some restoration, and some pieces remain original. The steering wheel was just professionally restored, but we couldn't track down an affordable center cap so we retained the original star. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack, the spare tire and wheel, and a original trunk mat. The trunk pan is solid and the cardboard inserts are still in nice shape. The car has updated Pioneer CD sound system for cruising in style. Only rear speakers were installed to prevent unsightly holes being cut in the gorgeous original door panels. Mechanically, this 250s runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. The 2.5L is bullet proof and the twin carb setup when tuned correctly makes for a spirited driving experience. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The car recently received a rebuilt transmission, full service, ac compressor, transmission pump, and seals. The car was always regularly serviced and the car was well cared for. The 2.8 litre straight six engine proved to be one of the companies most robust and reliable engines ever to come out of the House of Mercedes-Benz. The 280SE Sedan and Coupe were Mercedes’ most elegant offerings were the last of the true hand built cars. The Coupe’ version was a pillarless two door 4 seater that offered air conditioning, power windows and full wood, leather and chrome top to bottom. These elegant Coupes’ were only made in 2.8 form until 1971 with a total of 3797 made. European Motor Studio is proud to offer this 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SE Coupe’ finished in Silver Metallic with Charcoal leather interior. This 280SE Coupe’ left the Mercedes production line in 1969 and was sold new to its first owner in the West coast. This 280SE Coupe’ has had one repaint in its life and still shows well. The paint is not perfect, it does show some age but there are no areas of rust, damage, or fade. The chrome bumpers have been removed and re-plated along with the chrome windshield and rear window surrounds. The rest of the chrome is original and still in good condition with some pitting and hazing. Both front and rear windows have been removed from the car and both rubber gaskets have been replaced with factory correct gaskets. The rest of the body rubber on the car is still in good condition. The original leather interior shows very well and still has a nice very nice feel. The leather does show some signs of age and light stress marks but no tears or heavy cracks (the back seat on the upper shelf shows cracking and shrinkage as seen in the pics). The carpets look to be original and still show very well with no tears or stains. The wood appears to be original and still show nicely retaining a good red/brown color. The headliner is all original and still shows well along with all of the original trim pieces and plastics. This 280SE starts right up and idles very well on its own. It does not smoke or leak anything and shifts into all of its gears without any problems. The transmission shifts well and does not show any signs of slipping or grinding. The brakes feel solid and do no pulsate or fade. The steering feels good and solid and other than a very slight pull at about 70-75mph it does not have any vibrations. The suspension feels good and solid and does not float or clunk. All of the electrical in the car appears to be operating as designed including the windows, interior and exterior lights and dash lights. This SE Coupe’ does come with its original jack, Mercedes keys, original owners manuals, warranty books, dealer books, car care book, service manual and original Mercedes pouch. There are no signs of any rust on the car and the undercarriage looks nice and solid and clean. This is a great opportunity to acquire a nice clean driver quality Mercedes-Benz SE Coupe’; one of the last true hand built Mercedes-Benz.
