This Mercedes Benz 240d is in very good condition for its age, drives and steers great, original paint looks great, has rock chips and dings but from 5' away the car can look flawless(see pics).Dash is in great condition has slight crack and one other small imperfections, shows some age(see pics). I owned a fleet of W108's and one of my vehicles, which I restored to 100% perfection, was the highest priced sold W108 in history. My buyer, who's name I do not disclose, is a Royalty and we all know his name. I sold all my W108's and this is the last one. I only have one long wheel base left, which will be my next restoration project. The reason I mention everything is because I want my buyers to know that you are buying from someone who knows this vehicles, knows what it needs to have to have value. There are many vehicles on the market you can buy but are they worth the money you will spend to restore? Will they be worth anything after you put in thousands of dollars? This particular car is the kind that is worth restoring and it is the car that will be worth money as a classic. There are two factors that make the car worth money. Number one, is the sunroof and the second is the fact that it is a floor shifter. It is very rare to catch them both on the same V8 car. Thats what makes this car valuable and rare. This is an awesome restoration material and you can be confident investing in it. As I mentioned, my vehicle sold at a price of a Mercedes 600 and it was a W108, 4.5, because it was a floor shifter and it had sunroof and it was fully restored. The car has no oil leaks. It has fair paint and is very presentable. The interior is fine. Carpets are fair. Seats are fair. Door panels are fair. All glass is fair and so is chrome. Sunroof works perfectly. Car has no real rust. It has minimal surface rust in couple of areas, which is very common on a car this age and mostly this model. The undercarriage is perfectly fine. Inside the trunk is clean and was painted for a cleaner look. The vehicle drives very nice. I drove miles and miles in it. As you can tell the wires inside the engine compartment were replaced. The car has a newer Interstate battery. If you are looking for a car to restore, this is it. If you were looking for a car to drive, this is it. it is a very presentable car. Does not need to be restored. Can be driven for years before you decide to restore it. Remember, that cars with options like this is always going to be worth money. Good luck with the purchase All inspections are welcome. I much rather have the buyer inspect the vehicle than have them tell me I was hiding something, which I am not. As you can understand, I am looking for a safe sale and someone that understands that this is not a brand new C class. It is a classic vehicle and has flaws. This 1982 Mercedes Benz 240D drives very well and is in immaculate condition, inside and out. It is a two owner car that has been garaged its entire life and has been continuously maintained at Mercedes dealerships. The current owner has owned this beauty for 28 years and has used it mostly to commute on weekends to and from a resort community. Paint on the car is the original color which was redone several years ago and looks great and shows very well. All the doors open and close properly and they all have that pleasing Mercedes door-closing sound. The tires are nearly new Michelins with plenty of tread left on them. The brakes have been recently redone and provide for sure and safe stopping. The car drives smoothly and straight and has recently had the front end aligned and inspected. The transmission shifts smoothly with no unusual noises or vibrations. This car has always been properly and expertly maintained. The owner has always had the MB dealer change engine oil every 3000 miles and adjust the valves every 10000 miles and the engine starts easily and runs perfectly. Although the car has 250000 miles on it, this Benz has plenty of worry free miles left and, in fact, well maintained 240D cars routinely last over 500000 miles. The interior of the car has also been well maintained. The dash has no cracks, all the electrical equipment works properly and all the upholstery is in great condition. The car has a working electric sunroof. The only flaw in this immaculate car is a slight rust hole in the spare tire well in the trunk. There is no other rust on the car. This Mercedes is being sold because the current owner has purchased a new Mercedes SUV and has reluctantly decided to sell this car. This 1983 Mercedes-Benz W123 240D sedan in Dark Blue (paint code 904) with palomino interior is an unrestored survivor that is visually and mechanically near excellent. With just over 149K on the odometer the4 cylinder engine starts runs wonderfully with no smoke. To say this car is well maintained is an understatement. This car has been pampered throughout its life having always been stored in a garage and meticulously serviced. There’s really no rust whatsoever on this car except for some superficial rust in the front passenger side which can easily me attended t. A look in the engine bay proves this car has been very well maintained through its lifetime and in the last year has received a lot of new components including water pump, alternator, hoses battery and brakes. The engine is extremely tidy and the fluids are clean. While there is some patina on the head there all of the components are clean and free of corrosion. Anyone would be proud to lift the lid on this vehicle at a car show or enthusiast gathering. On the road the engine is lively and the steering is accurate. With a strong suspension and tight front end the car drives and stops exactly like it should. Inside the car feels fresh and clean. The radio is aftermarket but the AC system works wonderfully and all of the controls operate as designed. The seats are clean and nearly as new and the carpets have been protected by secondary mats making them pristine, If you are looking for a clean 240D to enjoy as a classic or show this is a perfect candidate. Finding good examples of these vehicles is becoming increasingly difficult and this robust classic will become a sought after vehicle for classic owners, especially those that want to use their vehicle and enjoy it for long road trips. 1958 MERCEDES BENZ 220s Four Door Sedan Vin: 180 010 850 3462 A Virginia military man purchased the car new in Germany in 1958, for export to the USA. The second owner was Dr. JP Wishau of Milwaukee, WI who purchased the car in the mid 80s, restored it in the late 80s at a cost of approximately $60,000, and continued to own it until 2010. Dr. Wishau chose this car for restoration because it was completely straight and virtually rust free, and features a retractable cloth Webasto top. Gerhard Banfi was the coordinator of the complete restoration and did the majority of the work. Much time was spent on the body work in order to obtain proper panel gaps, and flat panels. It was painted in a single stage acrylic urethane PPG paint. All chrome parts, including the grille shell, bumpers, door handles, belt moldings, fender moldings, etc. were re-chromed. Rocker panel moldings were anodized. Headlight rims and blinkers-NOS The windshield was replaced.. Cranks, etc were all in excellent condition. The grey leather interior and carpeting was sewn by World Wide Upholstery in California. Interior grey color is a correct color for a 1958 model. New canvas sunroof and headliner was supplied by World Wide in CA as well. All wood panels were stained and coated with 10 coats of urethane. The engine was rebuilt by a Wisconsin performance shop - bored oversize with new pistons, rod sized, crank turned, hardened exhaust seats, new valves and rockers, cam shaft etc. Dual carbs rebuilt. Valve covers were polished, and engine bay detailed. Car has original heater boxes with dual blower motors. All heater control cables and electric controls work fine. Radio was restored by an electronic specialists in California. Gauges are all very nice and work. Transmission includes new bearings and sync hubs with a new clutch. Brakes were all rebuilt, and booster re manned by a company in Colorado. Correct wheels and had original Michelin molds created correct tires for "58. NOS- hub caps New stainless steel exhaust. Gas tank was cleaned and lined. Radiator was boiled and painted and, and new hoses and belts installed. Receipts for entire restoration, including a receipt for a piece of missing chrome molding that was sourced directly from Stuttgart, are available, and convey with the car. The car was purchased in November, 2010 by Sergio and Lois Asensio of Lynchburg, Virginia. The car is currently maintained by Danny Bridgeworth of Lynchburg, Virginia, who works exclusively on classic cars as a sideline when he’s not at his day job as a nuclear engineer with Areva. Annual state inspections were performed by Crossroads Mercedes of Lynchburg, Virginia. The only modifications made to the car since its original restoration were the addition of retractable seatbelts for the front seats and standard seat belts for the back seats. As of July, 2015, the car has 3,200 miles on the odometer since the engine was re-built. Car includes original tool set, original jack, original owner’s manual, and new shop manuals. The car is a true pleasure to drive and has that classic pontoon styling that exemplifies a Mercedes of that era.

I am selling my '83 Mercedes 240D. I am the second owner and I bought this car from a family friend, who was also the original owner, this last October. I am selling it since I have moved into a new apartment and do not have the parking space for both of my cars anymore. The car is in excellent condition both in and out, there are no cracks in the leather or interior and the engine runs great. The sunroof is also fully functional. Windows and locks are manual, not power. The car passed NV smog no problem. It is a 4 speed manual transmission and with only 183k miles; which works out to this car being driven less than 6000 milles per year. It has been well taken care of and this car is still cherry since diesel engines are known to run well above 500k+ miles.The only fault with the car is a hole in the upholstery in the ceiling in the back seat, which was caused by my wife pulling her skis out of the back of the car at the wrong angle and thereby making the hole. It also does not have a radio installed, wiring is primed and ready for one though.
