FOR SALE BY OWNWER: 1966 MERCEDES BENZ 230SL I purchased this car 2 years ago. It was fully restored 20 years ago and then sat in a garage in Virginia. So I had a lot of good to work with. My wife loved the color and we bought it. But she regrets buying a manual transmission and wants me to find her an automatic. The engine and transmission had been rebuilt before & a many new parts were restored and preserved. I have an organized folder with all the parts purchased from the MB USA Irvine Classic Center and all the different repairs and shops it has gone thru. Different systems rebuilt and upgraded: 1- Braking System: Front calipers rebuilt, new shoes and pads installed front and back as well as two new rear brake cylinders. 2- Suspension: All steering arms, bushings, shocks and bearings replaced. 3- Tires: 4 new BF Goodridge white walls installed 4- Electrical: all wiring has been cleaned up and new bulbs inside and out have been replaced. 5- Differential: Rebuilt, with new original boot as well as 4 axel bearings replaced. 6- Water: Radiator was rebuilt into a 4 core high density with new thermostat and hoses. 7- Manual Shifter: All the bushings for the shifter have been replaced. 8- Both doors: latches were replaced and the entire car has working locks. 9- Convertible top is in great condition with the rear plastic window is shiny and clear. I spent around $25,000 in parts and did most of the work myself, but also had a few different Mercedes specialists help me restore this car. This car has some rust issues. I spent $2500 and repaired the front end rust that made it safe and in the future: This car will need a paint job and the rest of the rust dealt with. This is a car for someone who wants to enjoy a turn key reliable convertible and in a few years when the value exceeds $100K, the only thing it will need is a nice paint job. I welcome vehicle inspections and please feel free to call me with any questions. Thank you, Max - 310-272-9566

This is a highly restored 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL in excellent condition. The restoration list: Complete Paint Job: Arabian Grey Complete Interior: Brand new wood from Mercedes-Benz, not refinished Complete Engine & Transmission: Done in August 2011, only 1,177 miles driven since This immaculate 280SL was bought new in CA and has never left the state. It has a known ownership history from new (my grandmother had one similar and this car belonged to her best friend until it was sold/given to very close family friends from the same northern CA neighborhood). To my knowledge it has never left the state. From the family that received the car I purchased it and had a full restoration completed by Hot Rods and Hobbies in Long Beach where it was featured on their site.. All the colors and options are correct to the original build and the car has no rust and never has. The car has both roofs, drives exceptionally well and has had all mechanical work completed to as new condition. I have files going back to the late 80’s as well as a DVD of the restoration and a recent independent appraisal for insurance purposes given how quickly these cars are rising in value. A move is forcing this sale and I surely hope it stays in California but of course will entertain any bids. This is somewhat of an emotional sale for me. Roof rack and car cover include.

0 0 1 583 3327 Goodman Reed Corporation 27 7 3903 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Offered for sale is a beautiful, mechanically strong, entirely solid 1966 Mercedes 250SE Coupe finished in two-tone Blue Metallic and Silver Grey Metallic over a complimentary dark blue interior. A European version that was imported to California in the early 1970s, this 250SE is a clean and presentable example that can either be enjoyed as-is or viewed as an incredibly solid and original platform that can be taken to the next level. The gorgeous two-tone Blue Metallic and Silver Grey Metallic finish has its share of minor imperfections, however none of them are significant enough to really appear in any of the pictures. The body is entirely straight with consistent and correct panel fits and gaps throughout and no evidence of any accidents or bodywork. All of the glass and chrome remains in good original condition and the wheels are wrapped in tires with plenty of remaining tread. Always well cared for and properly garaged, the car’s undercarriage in entirely solid with no harmful rust or corrosion to speak of. The car’s interior is equally as clean, the seats, carpets and interior panels all in great shape and showing only limited wear. The wood interior trim could stand refinishing, the car retains its original Becker radio and the car’s headliner is in good original condition. The car is also mechanically sound, the original engine firing up easily, idling consistently and pulling strongly through each of the automatic transmissions’ gears. Compression is good across all cylinders, the brakes function as they should and the car is joy to drive, whether tooling through town or bombing down the highway. This is the first era of Mercedes’ classic cars that are adequately powered and advanced enough that they can be comfortably and reliably driven in modern highway conditions, and we wouldn’t hesitate to drive this car anywhere. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a solid, beautiful and mechanically strong appreciating classic. Heckflosse (fin tail) W111 coupes are one of the most timelessly elegant cars that Mercedes ever produced, and in our opinion they’re also one of the most undervalued investment grade cars on the market today, as their convertible and eight cylinder kin continue to break sale records at nearly every collector car auction in the annual circuit. It’s only a matter of time before the market catches up to the six cylinder W111s, making them excellent investments that are modern enough mechanically to truly drive and enjoy. We want this car to go to great home and would be happy to answer any questions, so please feel free to email us or call us at 805-202-4557. You can also visit us online at GoodmanReed. Goodman Reed Motorcars We’ve always had an appreciation for classic European cars and over the years have created an eclectic rotating collection. We only buy cars that we’d personally be interested in owning and generally only sell them to make room for other acquisitions. That time has come for this Mercedes (if the price is right, of course – this isn’t a fire sale). We try to give accurate descriptions of the cars we’re selling, but we’re enthusiasts, not experts, and we encourage and are happy to help facilitate personal or professional inspections. But please do so before bidding, as the alternative harms our ability to make sales to other interested parties who have done their proper due diligence before bidding. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction’s end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction’s end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of the auction’s end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however we’d be more that happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. The car is listed locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auction’s end. Thanks for your interest.

I purchased this 1975 280 SLC vehicle from my sister and had it shipped to the States over 30 years ago. Except for the small cracks at the top of the dashboard, the car is in excellent condition. It has always been garaged, hand washed and never driven in snow or ice. No dents or chips as far as I can see. The front seats are covered with sheepskin. We always had them covered in sheepskin. The seats are in very good condition; fabric front and back. This is the third Mercedes we're selling. We are retired and down sizing the number of cars we have. They were all vintage cars. If you wish to pick up the vehicle and pay at that time, we would require a certified check. If you plan to transport the car to another state, you will be responsible for arranging the shipping. It's a beautiful vehicle. Fun to drive. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Up for your consideration this loved and well-cared for 1979 Mercedes 280 CE. This is a very Rare Coupe model and not many running around anymore. I purchased this car more than three months ago as a birthday gift for my mother but as it turns out it was not her forte, I put on some sporty Bilstein HD shocks, a bit stuffer then stock and handles like a dream. A lot of time, sweat, and love went into this car myself and now it is time to let it go. I would love to keep it but have other cars needing attention. The following repairs and restoration transpired over the past three months since I had owned it:UPDATE: Make offer anytime with "MAKE OFFER" Button. Will include rear euro bumper (see my other listing) With Buy it Now Option.. Very nice 79 280ce Coupe Rare W123 053 with 142hp m110.984 engine.. Only 175miles $3000 in recent work that includes: New Water pump belts, hoses, gaskets New Radiator New Breaks, Rotors, Calipers, Pads New Bilstein HD Shocks New Tires New Exhaust and Muffler TUNE-UP with all Bosch components Cap, rotor, wires. Bosch super plus plugsIncludes very rare EURO Front head lampsThis is a US Spec Mercedes Benz. Mechanics: The car runs, drives, shifts, very smooth and without any hesitations and runs beautifully , Very nice on the freeway and you would not believe the way this car handles. You will not believe that this is a 35 years old classic. As stated before I had invested more than $3000k. I have loved this car, but now I have no more time to spend on it There are few things that this car will need.Front R Ball joint and control arm. Front windshield has chip Dash is has a few cracks and dash wood need replacing and 37 year old paint is showing its age (Clear coat is peeling) I have local source for any restorative parts that this would need. Be happy to take any pic's of any part of the car that I don't have here Final note, remember that this is a 35 year old car and it needs a little bit of work to make it perfect. It is a stunner and a head turner everywhere you go. Book value for these cars ranges from $6000- $19000 and be assure that it will keep on increasing in value in the future, so this is not a bad investment. Again, if you are expecting or anticipating a new car condition, this car is not for you. This is a 35 year old so expect some imperfections here and there. I have tried to describe it to the best of my ability. I have a perfect feedback and I would like to keep it this way. This car is sold AS IS. I have placed the reserve very low and way below costA $500 deposit is required in 24 hours after auction has ended Serious buyers only please! Happy Bidding!!

This car has had a frame on rebuild since I have owned her. She has had all exterior work done as well as extensive mechanical work. She runs very well. She needs some dash wood work. A radio befitting her era and in dash clock does not work but is original. I have enjoyed owning her and getting her back into shape, but I don't have the time or space to take care of her anymore and would like to find a good home. Since her body work has been done, she has some minor imperfections in the paint. I purchased the car from a friend in 2009 and began a slow and methodical restoration from the floor board up. The windows are manual, but the sunroof is electric and works great. This is a smoke free car and is a real looker. This vehicle was appraised at $60,000, but does need some dash work and other smaller repairs to esthetics, so I have reduced the price accordingly.
