Mercedes-Benz Classics 1965 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Cabriolet You can view this this beautifully restored Cabriolet through 1/22 in Scottsdale, AZ, about a mile from the Mercedes dealer. Over 3,000 hours of meticulous restoration work over the course of 7+ years. Only 2,729 were ever built to begin with. There simply are no comparables! This 220SE Cabriolet has been restored in the factory midnight blue, color code {904}. A magnificent paint job was done on a bare body with extreme attention to detail both inside and out. Engine bay fully restored to factory specifications using every hose clamp available from that era. Engine, transmission and rear end have all been rebuilt, as well as the front suspension, using new parts from Mercedes-Benz wherever available. The injection pump was rebuilt by Gus Pfister, founder of Pacific Fuel Injection in Northern California, highly regarded as the best place to get these injection parts serviced. The interior was completely redone in the factory using Mercedes-Benz parchment leather. Rather than purchasing a leather seat kit, the seat patterns were crafted from scratch, copying the original seat covers. Carpet was also tailored to the car and not a kit that most people buy online and throw in there hoping that it will adjust itself to the car. The outside door handles were purchased brand new, as well as the lock on the trunk. Our interior guy has only been working on our cars exclusively, which have been only Mercedes Benz and occasionally a Rolls Royce or Ferrari, for the last 35 years. Factory Blue German canvas and original Headliner materials used to rebuild the soft top frame from the bottom up. Every molding has been re-chromed by the best shop in Los Angeles. We also purchased a set of burl wood from Mercedes Benz in Germany circa 1986, fully aware that we'd find good use for it in this 220SE Cabriolet. All brand new factory Mercedes glass was purchased for this project 14 years ago, including a Brand new windshield and molding. It's equipped with brand New European headlights and tail lights items that are no longer available today, a professionally rebuilt factory installed Becker radio and a brand new Hirschman electric antenna; also an item that can no longer be purchased today at any price! There are too many other parts to list. We upgraded the differential to disc brakes for better braking performance, installed all 4 brand new rotors and calipers, brand new bilstein shocks all the way around, 5 brand new Phoenix tires, new master cylinder, replaced brake hoses, and re-cored the radiator. Both, the undercarriage and the trunk were completely redone; detailed with cad plated fuel and brake lines and all new brackets to hold them up. ALL ORIGINAL, not messed with.This is a 4 speed on the floor manual transmission all original Arizona/California Mercedes 220D BOX A Arizona title (original mileage) with 94,259 miles on the working odometer.Never painted. Original paint. Not faded.It includes a Mercedes dealer receipt and warranty for a replacement diesel engine in 1998 when the car had 44,707 miles on it.It runs and drives perfectly, no drips, no leaks. You could keep it just as is.Or, you could replace the carpets and headliner and drive it with pride as a daily driver. Or, you could also re cover the seats which have one or two small blemishes, mostly on the top of the back seat under the rear window. Original radio included. Does not appear to work. It had an aftermarket radio in it which I removed. Original Becker will be in the trunk.Everything else works, horn, lights, signals, blower.Needs:Both interior lights cracked, not working.There is a pin sized hole in the hood over the positive post of the battery. I assume someone tried to jump it and the hood fell down and arced.Front windshield has a crack in it.The drain connection in the passenger side front footwell has some rust. See pictures.There is no other rust in this car.One hub cap is the wrong color.AC works, blows cool. Just needs juice. This car was thoroughly safety checked and all flex brake lines were replaced, brake lines flushed, all fluids changed, motor mounts replaced, good tires put on it.You could drive it home if you wanted to.

W111 series 1962 Mercedes Benz 220S. This car is one of the best examples around and has an impeccable documented history. The car was delivered in 1962 by Don Rasmussen Company (oldest Mercedes dealer in US) to Hazel Heckman in Tacoma, WA. The car remained in her possession for the next 30 years. In the early 90’s LeMay Museum (largest auto museum in US) had acquired the car at an estate sale. They had kept the car for the next 20 years. I purchased the car at the LeMay America's Car Museum auction in 2013, and have completed comprehensive cosmetic restoration. The rust free body shell was stripped and repainted to original Horizon Blue (DB504) using single stage urethane paint. Undercarriage of the car was never undercoated at the factory, so it was relatively easy to clean the undercarriage and refinish it in the original color as well. Hood, trunk, front fenders and engine were removed, all inner cavities cleaned before repaint. It took considerable effort and fine attention to detail, but the results are well worth it. Interior of this car is completely original and unmolested. Since the car was out of the elements for most of it’s life, the state of the interior is simply spectacular! Leather is soft with wonderful patina, carpets are in fine condition, as is the original fabric headliner. The dash is pristine. Woodwork is all present and in very good condition. The only flaw is a single crack in the top bow, which can be repaired quite easily. Lack of UV exposure also shows in the condition of chrome and anodized trim, so often found dull and damaged, but not in this example. The car is fitted with a healthy straight six M130 engine, which has the fame of being indestructible, 4-speed manual transmission with column shift (new shifter bushings), dual Zenith carburators (rebuilt). I upgraded the car to Pertronix electronic ignition and Delco 100amp alternator for greater reliability. These mods are easily reversible if desired, and original generator and points are included in this sale. The electrical system is otherwise original and in good working order. The brakes were cleaned, adjusted and original “$1200 Teves Special” master cylinder bronze sleeved with new seals. System flushed and bled with new fluid. Fuel tank cleaned, new sending unit fitted. All gauges are operable. Cooling system flushed, new antifreeze. Items that may require attention include: -original Becker Europa radio powers on, but no sound (speaker?) -clock, -tires, original whitewalls are good for show or Sunday drives only. -power steering pump a bit noisy (replacement included). The car of this pedigree and history is a solid investment, but as any 54-year-old classic car it will require special care and attention. Sold with a free and clear title in my name, ready for ownership transfer or export. Inspections are welcome and encouraged before the auction end. A Virginia military man purchased the car new in Germany, for export to the USA. The second owner was Dr. JP Wishau of Milwaukee, WI who purchased the car in the mid 80s, restored it in the late 80s at a cost of approximately $60,000, and continued to own it until 2010. Dr. Wishau chose this car for restoration because it was completely straight and virtually rust free, and features a retractable cloth Webasto top. Gerhard Banfi was the coordinator of the complete restoration and did the majority of the work. Much time was spent on the body work in order to obtain proper panel gaps, and flat panels. It was painted in a single stage acrylic urethane PPG paint. All chrome parts, including the grille shell, bumpers, door handles, belt moldings, fender moldings, etc. were re-chromed. Rocker panel moldings were anodized. Headlight rims and blinkers-NOS The windshield was replaced.. Cranks, etc were all in excellent condition. The grey leather interior and carpeting was sewn by World Wide Upholstery in California. Interior grey color is a correct color for a 1958 model. New canvas sunroof and headliner was supplied by World Wide in CA as well. All wood panels were stained and coated with 10 coats of urethane. The engine was rebuilt by a Wisconsin performance shop - bored oversize with new pistons, rod sized, crank turned, hardened exhaust seats, new valves and rockers, cam shaft etc. Dual carbs rebuilt. Valve covers were polished, and engine bay detailed. Car has original heater boxes with dual blower motors. All heater control cables and electric controls work fine. Radio was restored by an electronic specialists in California. Gauges are all very nice and work. Transmission includes new bearings and sync hubs with a new clutch. Brakes were all rebuilt, and booster re manned by a company in Colorado. Correct wheels and had original Michelin molds created correct tires for "58. NOS- hub caps New stainless steel exhaust. Gas tank was cleaned and lined. Radiator was boiled and painted and, and new hoses and belts installed. Receipts for entire restoration, including a receipt for a piece of missing chrome molding that was sourced directly from Stuttgart, are available, and convey with the car. The car was purchased in November, 2010 by Sergio and Lois Asensio of Lynchburg, Virginia. The car is currently maintained by Danny Bridgeworth of Lynchburg, Virginia, who works exclusively on classic cars as a sideline when he’s not at his day job as a nuclear engineer with Areva. Annual state inspections were performed by Crossroads Mercedes of Lynchburg, Virginia. The only modifications made to the car since its original restoration were the addition of retractable seatbelts for the front seats and standard seat belts for the back seats. As of Oct, 2015, the car has 3,200 miles on the odometer since the engine was re-built. Car includes original tool set, original jack, original owner’s manual, and new shop manuals. The car is a true pleasure to drive and has that classic pontoon styling that exemplifies a Mercedes of that era.

This is a 1957 Mercedes Benz 220S 4-Speed Manual (on the tree) which has recently received a full brake system rebuild including hardlines and also has fairly new tires. This rare vehicle garnishes attention everywhere it goes. The 220S is a lot like the Taxis used back in the 50's however the 220S is the extended wheel base (often used as personal limos) and has the inline 6 cylinder motor capable of going over 100mph back in '57. Modifications can be reversed, but ultimately its quite head turning as-is. This vehicle lived most of its life in the Phillipines where it received a complete restoration in the early 2000's by the previous owner and then imported to the US. The interior is red in color which includes the seats, doorcards and carpets. The headliner is white perforated and dash is covered in a maroon marbled vinyl. The vehicle has been wrapped with a vinyl substrate to give it the matte silver look. All the grey on the car could be removed to show the shiny red paint underneath. All chrome was coated with the same product. What is currently grey, is red. What is currently black, is chrome. Included is a photo of the vehicle in its state prior to the protective wrap was applied. This car runs, drives and stops fine. It doesn't have a heater-box nor does it have functioning wiper blades at the moment (new motor needed). Gauging the interest in the car as I have found myself with too many vehicles. Up for sale is a running and driving 220s sedanRust free California car, no rust anywhere no bondo patch anywhere, new windshield and rubber seal front and rear, all new rubber seals in doors and trunk, new rebuilt starter, starts every time. Shifts properly and brakes good.Does have paint chips here and there and a scrape on rear passenger quarter. Original 2 tone color ivory top moss green below, changed to current color some time ago. Rear bumper will need rechrome front is ok. Blinker handle on steering column broke off and needs replacement. I have a crack free water stain free wood dash replacement included in this sale. Original dash has a crack and water stain most likely from previous windshield seal which has been replaced.I do not have a title. MERCEDES 220S with RARE HYDRAX 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION - COMPLETE SYSTEM The asking price is only $300 more than the value of the rare hydrax system !!!!!!! Buy the car to restore or for parts -- I have 2 more of these 220s cars in stock with one in pieces with the hydrax set up as well ! If interested I can list the other cars -- I am trying to get down to a more manageable excess of VINTAGE MERCEDES - The warehouses I have rented for over 20 years are being sold - the owner for the last 20 years has gone out of his way to help me with unloading cars - helping me with outside storage at no additional costs etc - I was his first renter and he never raised my rent in over 20 years ! I am sure the new owner will want to redo the contract at some time and by then I hope to have all my cars in the open area sold off or dismantled . It was real easy to keep buying cars as I did not have to pay for outside storage and had well over 10 cars outside in an area that others were charged $50 a month for ! So it was better to just buy the car as well . It was filled with 190sl , 300 Adenauer , 220s etc parts -- in fact it still has a 280sl engine short block in the trunk !!! We will remove it of course as it is not included in the sale - just the car as is as shown. We will install stock wheels for the AUDI ones shown . I was told this car ran and drove but never even attempted to start it . I can hook a battery up to it and test it out sometime soon . The interior seats look to have been redone at some time - they are brown and in nice shape - the dash is nice - good wood etc as well . -- I think I have the title for it as well . The car is missing a few items that one would replace anyway - we will toss in extra 220s parts - how many depends on the offer price This car has the legendary HYDRAX - manual trans - automatic clutch system !!! Little Bit of History Introduced in March 1954, the 220a was a more luxurious and up-scale version of the W120 model 180 with a wheelbase stretched by 170 mm (6.7 in). 100 mm (3.9 in) of that increase in length was necessary to accommodate the longer straight-6 engine taken from the W187 model 220, that in this application delivered 85 PS (63 kW; 84 hp) fed by a single carburettor. 1960 Mercedes 220SE Cabriolet The 220SE was produced from only October 1958 to November 1960 with only 1,112 cabriolets built for the three model years. In 1958, Mercedes updated their 220 S when the 2.2-liter engine was fitted with Bosch fuel-injection and produced 137 BHP. Internally, the injection cabriolets were known by bodycode W128 with the engine code M127.983. The impressive 220 Cabriolet was produced by the Sindelfingen factory. Even more impressive than their styling and engineering was their price tag, which was a staggering $9,000 making it one of the most expensive cars of their era. The Mercedes-Benz W128 was a 6-cylinder automobile that was available in sedan, coupé, or cabriolet body styles and produced from October, 1958 to August, 1959 (Cabriolet A/C and Coupé to November, 1960).
