Don't miss out on this rare opportunity! A great body to transform a donor rust bucket/ parts car into something valuable and fun. A worth while investment. 1962 Corvair Convertible body. RUST FREE southwest car with new paint inside and out (door jams, dash, trunk and engine compartment.) Previous owner spent $2500 on paint and bodywork. Was originally a Spyder Convertible but muffler slot was filled to make it a regular Monza Convertible. Also LED back up lights were graphed into tail light section. Clean title. You arrange pick up. Body located in Albquerque, NM. Will have wheels and tires to move. Not the ones pictured.

Hi, you are viewing a Show Quality 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900 Coupe with a 4-Speed. This is probably one of the nicest Corvairs in the country. The last owner Completely Restored this car for his wife and then she rarely drove it. You honestly could not restore a Corvair to the Quality Level of this car for more than twice the amount that I am selling this car for. The reason that very few Corvairs get restored to this level is because they don't command the huge money that old restored Corvettes, Camaros, etc... do when brought to this condition level, so in turn, very few Corvairs are in this high quality state. I think that is slowly changing though, especially considering how few are this nice. And they are so fun to drive too, this car reminds me very much of one of my old Porsche 911's, only better in my opinion (and why old 911's are 10 times the price I will never understand, of course most 911's are kept in nicer shape, like this Corvair is) . Both 911's and Corvairs are Air Cooled Flat Sixes and Rear Engine and Handle Great. Most people don't realize how low these cars are for handling and how well built these are. The doors open and close with such a quality sound and feel. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive and is extremely tight and solid with no rattles and handles superbly and absorbs the bumps beautifully. This Corvair really needs to be driven to truly appreciate it. The last owner got this car from a man who had a fully restored and just rebuilt 1962 Corvair that got into an accident and was ruined just after getting it on the road after the restoration. He then bought THIS Rust-Free Arizona 1961 Corvair and planned on switching the 1962 just rebuilt drivetrain with a Four-Speed into THIS 1961 automatic car and then completely restoring it. That owner never got to it, so he sold both cars to the man I bought this car from and he then switched the drivetrains and finished the car with a Complete Restoration. And what a job he did, WOW, is about all you can say. You can also tell by the incredible Original Rust-Free Body and Underbody how great this car was to begin with. He even installed a few 1962 trim pieces that look better than the 1961 pieces (like the better looking taillight bezels). The Body and Paint of this Corvair is truly nicer than when these Corvairs were new in 1961. All of the Chrome and Stainless Trim is truly exceptional. The cost of just all that alone is a lot of money. This car is also shines Mechanically. It runs, shifts, drives, steers, stops, just Beautifully. All of the electricals, speedometer, and gauges work (fuel gauge acts strange sometimes) and it has an added CD Stereo (with Great Sounding Speakers) for even more enjoyment cruising. The condition of the Interior is Absolutely Gorgeous and Must Be Seen To Be Believed. The back seat also folds down and that whole fold-down area is also fully restored. This car has a Great Original Color Combination too. This Corvair also has a new Clarks Corvair Performance Exhaust System and 4 Brand New Tires. Overall, this car is pretty much like having a new 1961 back in 1961 again, with literally everything being restored or new, except that the paint and body didnt look quite this good in 1961 ! When I take this car out for a drive EVERYBODY that sees it just walks up and says, WOW, I have never seen a Corvair in that condition ! This car gets More Attention than most of my Much More Expensive Collector Cars. This really is a LOT of Collector Car for the money ! I am selling a couple of cars out of my collection for a real-state transaction and I appreciate you reading this. If you have any questions feel free to ask and please ask any you have before making an offer, and PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE 100% serious offers only , Thank You !!

I'M LISTING THIS UNDER FRIEND'S NAMES UNTIL MY FREE LISTINGS RUN OUT, SO IF YOU LIKE, EITHER CONTACT ME OR OFFER. THE ONLY TRADE I WILL DO IS CASH. PERIOD. PLEASE DON'T ASK OTHERWISE, I HAVE PLENTY OF TOYS. To see and hear this in action, copy and paste the link at the end of this description. 1964 Corvair Monza body fabricated on a 1989 Chevy S10 2WD frame. Garaged kept and driven occassionally until sold. Now front engine V8 5 speed stick. Brand new GM Goodwrench 350 4 barrel just installed. Mounted to a newer 5 speed from a Chevy S10 Xtreme. Hydraulic clutch. New clutch pad installed about a year ago. Runs more like a Corvette than a Corvair. Awesome build with antique plate. Blue velour inside. Front suspension completely rebuilt. Blue metalflake paint. True dual 2.5 stainless exhaust with two glasspacks. Full gauges. Fuel gauge hooked up and working. Rest are digital aftermarket gauges in the center console. Original speedometer just for show. Aftermarket digital speedometer worked in center console. Digits burned out recently. Needs a better brand one installed instead. Like Autometer. All lights, horn, signals, wipers, everything works. Completely rewired by me with modern fusebox. 14 inch rims/tires on currently with trim rings welded to the 13 inch hubcaps to make it appear more stock. Build sheet included. Runs great. Minor rust spots starting on it, but very easy fixes. Any questions, please ask before buying or offering. Battery and gas tank in trunk. Fender tank door just for show, but not functional. Modified S10 tank above rearend housing between rear seat and trunk. Paint job is good amateur but not professional. Bodywork is minimal. Vents for front radiator are cut below the front emblem and behind the front bumper. Original radio still in dash for show. Don't know if it works, never tried. Build sheet included. Many extra parts go with it. In excellent condition are two extra doors, hood, and trunk. In OK shape are two used quarter panels and fenders cut off a donor. Plus many small parts too numerous to mention. Also, floor was cut in front middle, to make the "dog coupe" easily and unboltable. Easier to get at the back of the motor and trans if needed. TAG/KEYWORDS: Yenko Fitch Supersport Super Sport Chevelle Nova Impala Camaro For the Ebayer who is intimidated because 1) this car has a whole other frame attached under it, 2) sits up a few inches higher than stock, and 3) is way faster than stock, I ask you please don't bid, as there are plenty of stock ones available for you to buy. This is for customers who appreciate the time and work it takes to build something creative and like no other. Thanks for the silly emails and comments. Figured I'd answer before you ask again.

Had a 1980's full restoration and has been sitting for last 20 years in a barn in ND. Runs great, changed all the fluids. Cleaned everything put a new battery in and runs like it did back in the 60's.Very fun car to drive Minor dings on it, nothing terrible that wouldn't be easy to fix.Monza spider convertible is pretty rare now days. Offered for sale are TWO 1963 Chevy Corvair project cars. Neither car runs - or has ever - in my 12+ years of ownership. Both roll and are transportable in their condition. The main car, the convertible needs a restoration - but is very restorable. It will need a patch-panel or two - but not many. The floors have been patched, but not properly or professionally. Sheet metal was screwed to the floor after the rusted metal was removed. These panels are available. The seat are in good condition, not sure if they are original. Trunk is NOT rotted out - but rusty. The convertible top was rotted out when I received the car - so I cut the remains out. The frame is good. It appears to be a manual top - by the absence of any electrical switch under the dash. The five (5) rims have been media-blasted and powder coated blue (I intended to make the car a blue-on-blue, which I think the exterior was originally). They have brand new, zero mile, steel belted radials on all five wheels. The second car is also a 1963, but a coupe and a 'Spyder' with a 150 HP Turbo motor and a four speed transmission. My aim was to swap the Turbo/4-speed combo into the convertible while doing the restoration needed. Shipping of both vehicles is the responsibility of the buyer, but the seller will assist with the coordination, in anyway possible. $500 deposit within 48 hours of the close of the sale. Remainder due within 7 days.

I"m an ASE master tech and corvair nut. Bought this car on Ebay because it was 3 miles away. I had it towed to my buddy's garage less than a mile from the seller. Now he needs the space and I don't have the time or money to do the car justice. I went over this car with a magnet before bidding. THIS IS A NO RUST BARN FIND! It has been sitting for years in a dry place. The rocker panels, bottom of the windshield, and inside the door jams by the hinges are all solid. No rust on the bottom of any fenders. I tested the floors to see if they were soft, no flexing. Interior is original with no tears. The engine is a 140 HP, but has single carb heads on it. Engine cranks over and has compression. Car has a 4 speed trans and a posi diff. Car comes with a newer set of radial tires and 2 prong hub caps. It looks like the right fender and the front have been replaced. There are welds in the trunk, but nothing visible on the outside. I will rebuild the carbs to help get you started. Car was bought as a salvage car without a title. I have the paper work from the state of NJ to obtain a title. Just need to do a title search for the 5 states that border NJ. This car is ugly, roof torn, windshield cracked, but it's all there.

1964 Chevrolet Corvair convertible is in excellent condition. This car was purchased in Florida and spent most of its life in dry Texas. It has always been garage kept and well maintained. I can't stress how clean this car is. Body is rust free. Chrome is shiny. Paint is still bright and has minor imperfections. Interior is just as nice, it was re-upholstered years ago and had the soft top roof replaced at that time. NO known mechanical issues, engine and transmission are solid, vehicle starts right up and runs well. This vehicle was Not made with power steering or power brakes but it drives easy and handles well. This mileage is actual and it is very low, only 69, 209 miles at time of this posting. Transmission is automatic: 2 speed , drive and low. Original bill of sale, 1964 owners manual, and other paperwork are all saved for the next owner. Tires have about 3000 miles on them. The soft convertible top is free of damage but the motor has quit working so it can't currently retract. I priced out the replacement part and it is under $400.00 or the current unit might be repairable. The car is driver and show ready. There are no known leaks. The car was kept in the family since original purchase and no accidents/ collisions to the vehicle. I encourage any potential buyers to come see this car in person or send your qualified mechanic to preview this vehicle prior to bidding/ purchase. This is a used car, and no warranty is implied or offered. Car is being sold as is. I will be happy to meet with anybody wanting to inspect or drive the car. I am Not a mechanic but have done my best to describe and list this automobile as it presented. Buyer is responsible for all transport or shipping costs. Vehicle is ready to drive home after purchase. I have approx. 50 pics of this auto for your preview, if you want further pics. Email any questions as I will reply and do my best to answer quickly, or you may call directly : Mike at 330 936 4836.

Relisting due to no response winning bidder and flaking buyer, but seeing as this seems to be an increasing occurrence here on ebay unfortunately for all sellers, I am going to relist this one as a static buy it now. Thanks and onwards! I am EXTRAORDINARILY excited to offer for a sale this beautiful, rare, 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder Convertible. It has been well cared for, drives like a DREAM and looks absolutely stunning in Goldwood Yellow over Black vinyl. This is a long ad, but please be sure to read the entire thing - there is a lot of wonderful detail to cover! Let's dive right in! Background: We all know the background on the Corvair: feeling pressure to fill a gap for smaller cars in the American market, Chevy, led by general manager Ed Cole, pushed the now famous Corvair through to production for the 1960 model year. It offered a number of differences then anything else the Big 3 were producing like a unibody frame, rear mounted horizontal air cooled engine, a small sporty stance and super sleek body. Corvairs came in a variety of flavors from coupes, to sedans, to forward control style vans and pickups. But one of the stand out models of any of the Corvairs offered was the very rare Monza Spyder Convertible. So what made this car so special? Chevy had done reasonably well with the convertible Corvair selling ~31,000 of them in standard Monza trim in 1964. But this Monza was upgraded from the factory to a Monza Spyder and that one little word makes all the difference. Gracing the engine bay of the pretty convertible was a turbo charged version of the Chevy flat-6 engine that produced upwards of 70 more horsepower than the stock 80hp engine! 150hp from a drop top, small Chevy made this little beauty a sight to behold AND a treat to drive. Because many people were looking for a more economical car when purchasing the Corvair, not many Monza Spyders sold in their short run for the additional $317 it cost to check the Spyder box. About 4,700 cars were sold, with only a fraction remaining today! The Spyder offered not just the engine, but revised gauges, custom badging and bespoke trim So let's chat more about this car specifically! Made in October of 1964 and ordered in the stunning pastel known as Goldwood Yellow, this car looks remarkably sporty over its black vinyl interior. The top, also black, completes the overall look. Paired with the boosted engine was the optional 4 speed transmission, making this a wonderful car to drive! This car is part of a major private collection featuring some very significant marques. It has been cared for in house and kept in ready to drive condition by a large team. It sits beside other Corvairs within the collection: a Greenbriar, sedan and wagon. Check out the below featured Cover Story from Classic & Sports Car Magazine on this very Corvair and its stable mates in the collection! This car is part of a greater enjoyment and celebration of all things Corvair, not just a one off purchase. The Condition and Service: Let's start on the engine and drivetrain: -ENGINE This engine comes to life immediately with a twist of the key. With even a crack of the throttle it, the Corvair feels torquey, smooth and powerful, and effortlessly pulls away! More then a leisurely drive? Keep your foot in it and the real thrill of the engine comes to life! The turbo is in its sweet spot of building boost and you comfortably and quickly pull away from your fellow drivers. The sound of that flat 6 with a hint of turbo noise whooshing behind you reminds you very quickly how special this car really is. ZERO air/fuel issues, ZERO detonation, ZERO black smoke, ZERO hesitations or flat spots. Check out the underside pics and the engine bay pics! -TRANSAXLE The 4 speed transmission is in FANTASTIC shape. Tight, confident shifts. NO grinds, NO syncro issues. The shifter eases into gear without any drama. -SUSPENSION No bangs, no rough ride, no clunks! The shocks dampen wonderfully! The car is tight in corners, and comfortable on the straights! -BRAKES Confident pedal, great pressure with a firm positive stop. Shoes and drums have good life in both front and rear and feel fantastic! -STEERING Steering feels good, no excessive play or vibrations. Let's continue to the exterior: -PAINT and BODY The paint is VERY nice! It is a 8 out of 10 easily. Shiny, beautiful, Goldwood Yellow paint was recently polished, finished and waxed and looks wonderful. Car was repainted in the reasonably recent past and shines nicely. No signs of a bondo job, accidents, or rust. The flaws are so minor they are essentially unnoticeable unless someone points them out. Some very minor overspray in little insignificant areas, small chips or touch ups, and other such minor flaws. I can only see some of these extremely minor flaws from certain angles and I can't capture it in pictures well, but I have included below any of the photographable flaws. This car presents as a "Driver +", to some perhaps a "Show -". Clean floors and no rust lurking around. The trunk floor has a couple areas where the splatter paint has chipped and there is some light surface oxidation (photoed below). -WHEELS In 1964, the 13" Kelsey Hayes wire wheels were a $900 option! Thankfully, to save yourself the headaches of finding a set to complete the ideal Corvair, this yellow beauty already features a set! These wheels when they come for sale are VERY expensive. The wheels present well, shine bright and look nice! Some minor flaws, chipping of chrome, light surface oxidation at those chips, etc, but nothing significant to take away from the overall beauty of the wheels and the car. -TIRES Plenty of tread left on the 175/80/13 tires! -BUMPERS and BRIGHT WORK The bumpers are in wonderful shape! No dents, cracks or issues! Chrome is nice all around the car with only minor flaws. -GLASS/WINDOWS Not to let a pebble defeat this car, the windshield is great shape, with no chips or sandblasting. The door and rear glass is wonderful shape! Clear and clean! -CONVERTIBLE TOP The top is in nice shape! No tears or splits and very flexible and not brittle. The black top shines nice in the sun! The rear window is reasonably clear. If 1 was destroyed and 10 was crystal clear, I would call this a 7+ or 8-. No tears, very soft and pliable, but just a touch of sun fade. Still easy to see through when driving and does not obscure vision nor take away from the car. The latches snug up nicely and line up very nicely with the dowel pins when putting the top up. With a touch of a button, the top hides away! No issues with the mechanism! Onto the cabin: -SEATS The Black vinyl seats are in great shape! No splits, no worn spots! Just wonderful soft vinyl! To my belief they are the original seat coverings and look 9/10 on condition! They are comfortable and the dual buckets look great! Rear seats are in great shape as well! -DASHBOARD ZERO cracks. Beautiful shape!! -DOOR PANELS Very nice what appear to be original panels, wonderful map pockets and armrest! -CARPET Very nice carpet in the car! No heel wear or stains! -WINDOWS All windows roll down and up with no issues. Good tracks and no dead rollers. -RADIO Original radio looks great, but is not working. Have not had this checked out because a turbocharged flat 6 sounds much better than anything on AM :) -STEERING WHEEL The wheel is in great shape with no major defects or cracking! -GAUGES All the gauges work! RPM, speedo, boost, fuel and temp all read loud and clear! The Experience: This Corvair is a dream to drive. It is tight, very comfortable, very quick, nimble and smooth. It has all the power it had from the factory and then some, and from even a little gas is torquey and responsive. It is so easy to fall in love with this Spyder. Two latches and a button and the top is down. One twist of the key and she is whistling away behind you! Rowing the gears of this Corvair with the wind in your hair and the 150hp turbo engine rocketing you along is one of the best experiences for early 60's American motoring. There were so few cars like the Corvair and certainly no true peers in the American market. I find myself in odd cars all of the time, from the hyper expensive and rare, to the quirky, to the mundane. This Corvair seemingly always gets more thumbs up and questions then any other car. In a short drive just to photo it the other day I think I was stopped/waved at a half dozen times. There is something about a Corvair! And that feeling is even greater as a driver then an onlooker. I hope you can tell by my long ad that this car is an wonderful and beautiful Corvair Spyder. This really is a very special car to drive and with the ongoing care within the collection, it is a worry free Corvair, ready to be enjoyed for the second half of summer and fall! Feel free to ask me any questions at all. Residents around the country I am happy to be flexible for your arranged shipper so that you can get your new car as soon as possible. My standard disclaimer/mantra for any car regardless of service or price: The car is sold with no warranty. You are buying a used car. Eventually every car will break, if you find one that doesn't please let me know. I do my ABSOLUTE BEST to offer only cars that are of TOP NOTCH service. I am not a dealer, just a guy who loves Corvair (among other cars) and hope to pass along my passion and fervor for these cars. That said if ever you encounter an issue I do my best to provide advice, direction or even parts if I have them. Please understand that it is a used car and will have minor signs of use. That means please do not expect a showroom brand new car. Please adjust your expectation level to that of a 50+ year old car, but however is WELL above average for it's year/miles. This is very nice condition for a Corvair of this year, but please just remember that no 50 year old car is perfect. It is though a great Corvair! Please only bid if you intend to buy. If you would like to have an Ebay 3rd party mechanic service check out the car I MORE than welcome it. Please have the car checked out BEFORE bidding and not after, if you intend to use that service. And please, if you would like to utilize this service, contact me with more than a couple days left in the auction so we can arrange schedules. Please check your local laws and registration procedures before buying. Buying over the internet can be scary sometimes! I get it, because I am an enthusiast too!! For that very reason, I am more than happy to answer every and any question you may so you know 100% what you are buying. But, please ask any and all questions ahead of purchase! All sales are final, you are buying as-is, the sky is blue, etc, etc. Sorry to have to give the boring speech. Please feel free to ask any and all questions!! "Corvair: You can't imagine how joyous a compact car can be!"
