Rarely do nice original examples of these early Corvair's come up for sale, there simply aren't many left that are this original and unmolested. The car shows just 21,800 (+/-) miles and though there is no documentation to substantiate the miles on the car, the car shows virtually no wear, particularly in its interior. Most of the paintwork on the car is original to the car as well, though I do believe the left fender and rear deck lid on the car have been resprayed at some time. Interestingly however, all panels measure the same paint thickness...... The cars originality is unquestionable. It runs and performs well though can be a bit difficult to start when cold. The fuel pump was just recently replaced. There is no steering play, brake pedal pressure and modulation is excellent. All systems on the car function, all electronics function inclusive of the Cars original radio. It does leak some oil, they all do, they all will, they always have, though the leakage is neither substantial or severe. Chrome and glass are in unbelievably nice condition and again, original to the car; chrome is like new. There is NO rust in the car. This is a GREAT car to drive and show as is and it's originality is always commented on. I think these cars are long overdue in the collector world..... here is an opportunity to acquire a 50 year old car, in simply wonderful original condition and THAT is pretty rare these days. In appearance and design the vehicles were similar to the competing Volkswagen Transporter, which was essentially a “bus” adaptation of the Volkswagen Beetle that moved the driver over the front wheels, also commonly defined as a cab over vehicle. The Greenbrier normally had windows all around and six doors. The Greenbrier seated up to nine people with the available third-row seat. Although the Greenbriers were a limited success, passenger vans would continue to evolve through full-sized vans. I have taken lots of videos and additional photos for viewing. Great restoration pieces that's is still in fair shape as it sits, does show its ages. Runs and drive great a 60 mph, as seen in test drive videos and stops safe at high speeds. Clutch, brakes and electrical are intact and in working order. Rally wheels, convertible top cover, decent interior as seen in videos. Interior looks to be original and in good shape. Top does function opening and retracting put has holes in top and rear plastic window needs replaced, as seen in photos Trunk is solid and clean, engine bay same way, Undercarriage is in great shape with no visible rust issues or floor pan repairs needed, again as seen in undercarriage photos and videos. This is a great restoration piece and can be driven in the process. Motor fires up nice when cold, great condition for a up. New piston rings ect. Body is in good shape with some imperfection in paint from age, but overall in good workable shape if planning to restoring.
