1981 VW Rabbit 1.6L Diesel L, manual 4 speed *3 owners, originally from Florida*194,000 mi -- Solid car, runs immaculately. 2,000 of total mileage was towing to and from Colorado to Illinois.*45-50+ mpg*Rebuilt engine at 188,000 mi -- Burns and leaks no noticeable oil*New clutch at 190,000 mi*Paint is good, clear coat is not(chipping off). A tiny bit of rust on back passenger side fender. Car is from Florida originally. *2 separate VW mechanics said it is the best looking undercarriage they have seen on a Rabbit of this generation(meaning very little rust under the car) *Tires are new -- 3,000 miles on them*newer alternatorThis has been my daily driver for 3 years now. I have loved it to no end!!! This is the funnest car I've ever owned, it is very zippy around town and will travel 75 mph gladly. It is in great shape for travelling and I would trust driving it 8 hours hours a time(Me being the limiting factor-- not the car :) ) I am selling it because my mother gave me her old car and I don't have time to do the upgrades to get it to perfection. PARTS; REAR BEARINGS,BALL JOINT, TIMMING TOOLS, MUFFLER, AND REPAIR MANUAL. CAR WAS HAND PAINTED BLACK. windshield chip. On May-19-15 at 19:59:59 PDT, seller added the following information: answer to question- yes car is drivable (daily driver). Dash pad is in good shape, no cracks, door panels have speaker openings covered over. On May-22-15 at 16:02:12 PDT, seller added the following information: answer to question- yes this is a diesel. as you can see in picture. Answer. I believe the primer bulb was installed to aid in bleeding injector lines. otherwise never used. starts right up even in cold winter weather with glow plugs.
