This VW Rabbit has served me extremely well and has ONLY 48,500 miles. The only reason I am selling it is because I married a woman who had a new car. I bought this car in 2012 from the original owner in California and absolutely love it. The car has never been in an accident. It drives like a champ and gets good mileage in the city or on the highway. I just paid for a COMPLETE 50k mileage inspection and replaced a few minor tubes, headlight, etc. The car has just been given a clean bill of health. In the past 3 years I have basically only driven it on weekends for errands or occasional out-of-town trips. Its perfect for 1-2 people for everyday living in the city and for short trips with its hatchback trunk.

1980 Volkswagen DIESEL truck 45000 actual miles 4 cylinder DIESEL and 5 speed manual transmission starts runs and drives excellent has some cosmetic issues but they are very minor....small crease dents in tailgate, couple of door dings , sun cracked dash board on top, and an aftermarket toggle switch to control the pre-heater, both door skins have curled edges from heat shrinkage (need to be wetted down and flattened out to restore flat) it does have a small rusted thru area under the passenger side foot well about 4-6 inches that could be fiberglassed in....other than that there is no rust anywhere else. the bed just has surface rust but no holes thru the bed Buy with confidence, I have a 100% positive feedback rating and have been on e bay since 2001 Please note: I will accept a cashiers check but he check must be on a U.S. bank or credit union and the check MUST clear your account before you can take the truck you can call me at 253-350-7520 for any other questions , Jack

Offers Below $3500 will be automatically declined Only 45K ORIGINAL miles....1980 Volkswagen DIESEL truck All body panels appear to be original 4 cylinder DIESEL and 5 speed manual transmission starts runs drives and brakes excellent....actually is pretty darn fast to be a diesel without a turbo on it.....no problem keeping up or even passing cars! has some cosmetic issues but they are very minor....the fenders, cab, hood, and both bed side quarter panels are very nice dent free condition. Noticeable flaws are two crease dents in tailgate just above the bumper, couple of door dings , sun cracked dash board on top, and an aftermarket toggle switch to control the pre-heater, both interior door skins have curled edges from heat shrinkage (need to be wetted down and flattened out to restore flat) The floor pan does have a small rusted area under the passenger side foot well about 4-6 inches as well as a few smaller areas on the drivers side that could be easy fiberglass mat fix There is the typical rust at the door inside edge bottom as well.....very minimal.... easy sand and repaint fix It would be easier to replace the rear bumper than to try and fix it.....or just leave it the way it is, since it is just cosmetic The inside truck bed is in beautiful condition with just minor surface rust but no holes thru the bed....there is only ONE 1 inch round x 1/4 inch deep dent that I could find inside the bed on one of the top slat ridges almost like a ball peen hammer was dropped on the slat surface Tires should be good for another 10-15 thousand miles and the wipers wont come on.....I am not an "electrical" guy but I am including a good used wiper motor in the sale. There is no headliner in it but parts for these trucks are easy to find. OVERALL....this truck should be considered a "project". Buyer from two weeks ago never paid so it is for sale again. For sale is a very original VW MK1 diesel rabbit. It has a rebuilt head with ARP head studs and a previously rebuilt injection pump. There is no cancer rust and only minimal surface rust on the original paint. Only damage to body is on the driver fender. All other panels are straight. It has a 4 speed manual with a good clutch. the interior is in great condition with only damage to the driver seat and dash. it has a new fuse block form partsplaceinc.com and what looks to be a newer wiring harness. The previous owner installed a new ignition switch and it wasn't supplying enough power to the shut off solenoid so that is wired to a switch on the dash. New glow plug relay and the previous owner put a whole new circuit in. The pump timing is a little bit off from installing the head, but starts when cold and runs great but needs a little work to be a daily driver. It has manual brakes so they feel a little weak and might need a adjustment. The wheels on the car are bigger than factory so the speedometer and odometer are off by a bit. The stereo has been removed along with the speakers. the wiper motor has been removed but all wiring is there. Original spare with beauty ring. Spare parts in the trunk like 2 extra cyl heads and a engine gasket kit The side trim was removed by the previous owner also. $500 non refundable paypal deposit and bank cashiers check or USPS money order for rest of payment.
