Thanks for checking out my VW Rabbit Convertible. I have owned this for 20years intending to completely restore it at some point. It has been sitting in the garage for 15 years. Before that it was my daily driver. A ton of fun to drive. It's got the 14" alloy wheels from the original Rabbit GTI as well as the front spoiler from same. Top and headliner were replaced in 1999 about a year before it went in the garage. We did a cheap paint job just to make it look decent. Custom made wood dash was installed by me. Original engine and 5-speed trans. I also had a Techtonics downpipe and exhaust installed so it sounds good. Needs a battery. Haven't started it in about 5 years. Great for a restoration or first car, or whatever you want it for. I have the clear title in hand and ready to go. Vehicle is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the listing early. Best acceptable offer takes it, just need to close chapter. Buyer responsible for pickup. I am located in Bergen County NJ.

Selling my 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit Caddy pickup truck, color is lago blue and paint is still in good shape for a 34 year old truck. Comes with the 1.6 Diesel engine and 5 speed transmission, truck does not run or start. Truck will need to be towed to it's new home, don't have the time anymore to play with it. The body is in good shape with little surface rust, dings, and a couple of small dents but nothing major. Car can be picked up or you can hire a shipping company to come and pick it up at my location. I have trouble with the key and turning on the ignition, might need a locksmith to check it out and make you a new key.

Here's a rare opportunity to own an awesome little VW truck. This is a super fun truck to drive. It's like a little car with all the perks of a truck. There were't many of these made. Over 4 years of production, only 75,947 were sold. The truck is freshly tuned up and has a fresh inspection sticker that is good until June 2017. It starts right up, idles, runs and drives great. She gets great gas milage, somewhere in the 40's, depending whether driving on the highway or in town. I want to say it averages around 44 MPG. This one is an original Silver born in 1982 with 136,499 miles on it now. She bares a lot of original paint with a respray on the bottom years ago. Enjoy it now as a daily driver with absolutely no worries. I would hop in it and drive it cross country without a worry. VERY VERY Solid and VERY hard to find in this condition! West coast car with virtually no rust. List of things done recently.- Fresh Tune-Up- Fresh Oil Change- New Oil Filter- 4 New Tires- 4 New Rims- Alignment- 4 Original rims included plus extra tires- Rear Bed Cover included (not pictured)- New Plugs and Wires- New Fuel Filter- New Air Filer- New Timing Belt- New Windshield Wipers I'm open to offers, but I do not need to sell, I just have too many cars and not enough garage space. I have other vintage VW's that I will be listing this week and I'm also considering selling my 23 window bus. Stay tuned!Maine is a no title state when it comes to antique cars ( 25 years and older ). Therefore, this sale will only come with a bill of sale, not a title, but if for some reason you need the registration to register it in your state that won't be a problem. The vehicle is clean with no leans and not a savage vehicle. Registration works for getting vehicles over the boarder and in/out of other countries. So this acts as a title for title. Your state will issue you a title when you register it there.

Rare 1980 model. This is an all original Arizona two owner vehicle with surface rust because it was not garaged.Original paint, original engine, original interior, all original. Paint it, or just buff it out and admire the "patina." Runs good, recent once over by VW trained professional mechanic. Interior excellent, dash has cracks.Bed rust is from water standing in it, easily repaired or just cover it.Strut towers are perfect.

This 5-speed 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel C has approximately 165,000 miles. When initially purchased just under two years ago, the engine and transmission had just been rebuilt. Shortly thereafter, I had a bit of engine trouble. So, the newly-rebuilt engine was replaced with a 1985 1.6L 12mm VW Diesel engine with lower miles. Nevertheless, the new hoses, belts, and accessories were all stripped and used on the replacement engine. Since then, the car has only had a few hundred miles put on it.It has been parked in a garage for most of the past year and a half. When I was relying on the vehicle as a daily driver, over a period of a couple months, it was getting roughly 50mpg. There was a little play in the transmission when going into reverse, and from first to second.1st gear tends to stall but that might just be me. Starting in Second is easy. So, I purchased and put in a MissingLinkZ.com A1E Upgrade kit, which includes their basic metal rod end shift linkage, their billet-weight shift rod, their short throw arm, and their UHMW poly bushings. Now, it shifts incredibly smoothly. The A/C does blow cold as of now, though the fan will occasionally seize up. If I were to keep it and make it my DD again, I would probably replace the fan over the winter. The interior of the car is absolutely immaculate. It has one of the nicest interiors of a nearly 35-year-old car I've ever seen. The blue vinyl seats are all practically perfect, save for one small pin-point-sized hole on the back seat, which doesn't really show well in photographs. The roof liner is new, though there is a slight sag toward the back of the vehicle, which also doesn't photograph well. One of the previous owners installed some aftermarket speakers on the front driver and passenger doors. In an attempt to cover these, they used some blue carpeting. This does rub when using the handles to roll the windows up or down. The dash is also in relatively good condition. It has but two small cracks. The exterior of the car is in very nice condition, considering the vehicle's age. There are two buffer marks near the windshield, a chip to the primer near the rear hatch, and a missed patch of paint on the roof where the primer is showing. Other than that, the exterior looks incredible. The tires have roughly 90% of their life left in them. It appears the wheel bearings, struts, tie rods, and most of the other suspension components are new or quite recent. Additionally, much of the exhaust system is new. The door and window seals are new or in very good condition. In the end, this is a very nice example of a 33-year-old car. It is remarkably solid and in excellent shape, given its age. I would not hesitate to make this car my daily driver again, were it not for my current military obligations. It will outperform almost all hybrids currently on the market, for far less. Despite spending an extraordinary amount of time attempting to describe each and every flaw noted, this Rabbit is ready to go. It is sold as is, as shown, with no warranty expressed or implied. The buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs. Can Arrange shipping for you just let me know. Thanks Have fun and Enjoy :)
