A couple small door dings and that's it! Rear wheel wells (the last picture of drivers side wheel well is the worst part on the car) and under vinyl top, see pictures. Interior is good condition. The car runs and drives well. Has the Pontiac 400 and the turbo trans. Engine was rebuilt by previous owner. Sale comes with a brand new in box edelbrock carb. 1971 Pontiac Grand Prix - Model J ORIGINAL, NUMBERS MATCHING CAR! PONTIAC 400 CUBIC INCH MOTOR! ONLY 54,046 MILES! Up for sale is an original, numbers matching 1971 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J in good condition with only 54,046 miles! Being sold as-is, by the owner, with a free and clear PA title. This vehicle was recently appraised in-person by a licensed technician from Auto Critic and a copy of that appraisal, including Auto Critic's description of the condition of the vehicle, is included among the pictures in this listing. Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8 with 3-Speed Automatic transmission. Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor #7041264. Exterior body, paint and trim are showing some wear due to age but the car still cleans up well and looks nice when washed and waxed. The paint appears to be non-original as some paint over-spray can be seen on various pieces of weatherstrip. The chrome has some pitting but would still look nice for a "driver car" when polished. This car is a great candidate for restoration or can simply be detailed and used as-is. This car has been in storage since 2012 but was started and run regularly until roughly one year ago due to a damaged battery cable that needs to be replaced. The positive battery cable was cut in half by an overzealous mechanic who wanted to quickly remove the battery cable heat shield that bolts to the cylinder head and runs down through the exhaust manifold. The replacement positive battery cable and heat shield have never been installed and will be included with the vehicle. This was always a strong running, powerful car that started with ease and sounded and drove great. It would not surprise me in the least if replacing the battery cable and battery, paired with some starting fluid, would get this car running again. Of course, it is possible that due to sitting for an extended period some additional work may be required. The wheel well trim has been removed by a previous owner, and three of the four pieces of trim are included in the trunk. Unfortunately the fourth piece of trim was never received and is long gone. There is some rust visible in the wheel wells, rockers and doors but it is repairable. A previous owner had some body work done (presumably for rust repair) and there are patch panels at the rear outer edge of the rear wheel wells. The patch panels are visible from the trunk and are pictured in this listing. Pick-up and/or delivery of the vehicle is the responsibility of the buyer but I am willing to assist however I can. Up for grabs is a true Barn Find, last registered on the road in 1999. Very solid, unmolested car. 400/350 hp, factory Q-Jet, AC is all there (even has a belt). Runs great, shifts well, dual exhaust. Interior features factory bucket seats, floor shift and console. All seat belts, AM radio, lighter, etc are in place but need attention. Dash has cracks. Shows under 80,000 miles which seems legitimate. Chassis and body are absolutely solid, southwest stuff. Solid floor pans, wheel wells, etc. Car was repainted at some point and shows cracks and patina. There are a couple nickle size spots on the front fenders, but very mild. The vinyl top was removed at some point and the roof does have a couple holes around the seams and area due to typical GM lame assembly procedure. Solid around the rear window/deck lid area. Originally a triple blue car. Would make a great driver with minimal work. Clean Texas title in hand! Not recommended to drive home due to tires. Cruise while you restore! For bids 1971 pont grand prix model J suvivor car all original numbers matching with build sheet drive car any ware kept in garage mostly all its life. 65000 orig miles very small amount of rust just started forming on drivers side rear lower quarter panel and lower fender and same but very small on pass side. the rest of the car is rust free on bottom and the top. original paint from factory one small rip on pass bucket seat and console lid. chrome is like new and vinyl roof is like new dash is like new headliner is perfect. Tilt steering rally clock . New tires and battery the only thing changed on the car is a alum intake and edelbrock carb and headers were added. I have all the original parts saved to go back on the car added to this sale. This grand prix is a one of a kind find.

You are looking at a 1972 J-Model with a number matching 400 the engine has 39000 miles with aftermarket intake and carb with a new turbo 400 less then 500 miles on this rebuild , very nice head liner seat and dash ,the car does need paint and does have some rust around the rear window car does have good floor pans same for the trunk ,stock a.m. radio it does not work. alights work as they should, air shock on the rear end all in working order , A/C is all in place but does not blow cold , windshield does have a crack in it . you can drive this car home it runs that nice . Once car is paid in full we pay for the title to be sent to you . The only defects on an otherwise excellent riding, driving & looking car are some stitching on drivers side front seat between square patterns separating & A/C has not been charged in years however system is totally intact. In the eighties vehicle was stripped to bare steel & repainted with original anaconda gold, all urethane products were used. Fifteen inch Cragar pro comp wheels with 255/60/15 tires in front & 275/60/15 tires in rear were added. Vehicles original brakes are discs in front & drums in rear. The original 400 CID. block was replaced with a fresh 455 CID.engine with a slightly hotter than stock cam, heads were redone however not with hardened seats, led add is necessary & an HEI distributor replaced the original points distributor, headers were also added. There are almost 27,000 miles on this engine, 400 turbo trans & all other moving parts on chassis of vehicle. I have owned this vehicle since 1977, I am pretty sure I bought it from the original owner, the reason I am attempting to sell it is because I am relocating to the other side of the country & would like to lighten my load. With further regard to condition of vehicle, all panels are original, floors & frame excellent. Shipping of vehicle would be responsibility of buyer, title would need to be transferred to new owners name before shipping takes place, if a local sale takes place cash is king, if not moneys would need to be transferred to a bank account, after transaction clears vehicle would be released.
