Currently up for sale on eBay Motors is this very rare 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix featuring the factory optioned V97 option NASCAR "bubble back.” Richard Petty Enterprises built a prototype of such a vehicle in1983.It is one of only 1,200 units produced with that option. Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a 200-4R Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. Any NASCAR and Pontiac fan will likely find this to be a great find and, recognized as, a sound investment that will only increase in value over time. The exterior was painted black by the former owner. All 2+2s were “no-option” vehicles, with a list of standard features rivaling anything offered in 1986. With the low-resistance front fascia, a huge, heavily sloped rear window, and fiberglass decklid with integral spoiler part of Pontiac's wind-tunnel-bred 2+2 package for 1986. It is fact that no major body modifications are required to make this 30-year-old car stable at any speeds. This vehicle is up for sale because I have a 1969 AMC AMX and a 1955 Chrysler 300 in various stages of restoration. It is used as a daily driver with 95,000 miles and deserves a restoration. Installed New: shocks, ball joints, plugs, cap and wires, distributor pick-up coil, alternator, ignition switch, carburetor. Recently installed 4 new tires and factory rocker panels to pass inspection. The headliner and bucket seat covers need replacement. There is minor damage to left side fender. Up for sale is 1984 Pontiac GP was original V6 3.8 liter car years ago I built a 454 big block chevy & a chevy 400 turbo trans with a stahl converter & shift kit used it for a couple of summers and put it in storage for 15 years the motor was totally redone at the time it was built new pistons, heads block punch out .30 over new mild cam oil pump ect. trans was also redone it has a 3.73 rear end out of a Grand National the car turned out to be a pretty fast street car has new dual exhaust front to back a/c use to work I kept car as original as possible body is strait frame is solid has sum rust under door panels total miles on motor & trans approximate 1200 miles any questions feel free to ask.

Up for your consideration is this 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix.It is the 3.8 L 6 cylinder base model.White paint with a maroon interior.One time enamel repaint in the original color.NO RUST EVER ANYWHERE,ANYWHERE.The front seat is torn in places and there is an aftermarket seat cover over the original vinyl.The rest of the interior is okay,dash has no cracks and all the gauges work.The air conditioning blows cold but the fan will not go in the high speed.New parts include.Tires,battery,rebuilt carb,brakes,springs and shocks,cat back exhaust,water oil and gas pump,plugs wires and belts.Original space saver spare/jack never removed.Runs and drives good.Brochures and some paperwork included as well as work/parts reciepts.Purchased from the original dear old lady I am the "A" title holder,my wife was using it as a daily up until around a year and a half ago.It has been seldom driven since,may require a tune-up or timing adjustment,but runs real good.I am relocating out of state,and shes not making the trip.Good car at a good price.I can email any additional pix and answer any intelligent questions,and NO I dont think you should drive it across the country or on a 5 or 6 day straight through trip ( the most popular car question ). Had this car since 2005 and it hasn't given up on me yet. -Has right side discoloring - small Hood dent from pulling it back- Drivers side window doen't go down/ had it locked up - can switch the switch or motor- water damage in outside back lights BUT THEY WORK- FACE of the Car holder in middle is broke BUT can still hold cups- Oil leak from - need of new seals- TAGS NEEDED WITH SMOG- IT RUNS BUT GETS HOT FROM BUILT UP OIL AND LEAK!!!!Something is wrong with the coolant staying possible leak too! had the car checked 2 years ago and ran good then the heating up started so I stop driving it.Has not been used in over 9 months- It starts and runs SOME MISSING, don't know what THAT problem is.NEEDS LOVE AND SOMEONE THAT WORKS ON CARS TO FIX IT RIGHT SO IT CAN LAST EVEN LONGER

1976 Pontiac Grand Prix 350 V8 two door automatic. Second owner adult driven, door pull on passenger side is off I do have it just needs reattached. Small trim piece missing from passenger side. Starting to rust around rear wheels the quarter panels are solid though. Seats are in very good condition. No cracks in the dash. Has A/C put needs freon and belt. Approximately 1225 units were produced for one year only and all were considered a "no option car", but actually came fully loaded. This 1986 Grand Prix 2+2 is a rare opportunity to own a collectible car that is part of NASCAR history. All 2+2 models came finished in two-tone silver over dark gray paint job that is highlighted with red pinstriping. The headlights are clear and the rear tail lamps are vivid and crack free with 'GP' logos placed in the middle. Also specific to these models is the aerodynamic front nose, fiberglass trunk with an integrated spoiler, and bubble rear glass that resembles the same profile of Chevrolet's NASCAR homologation entry in '86 and '87, the Monte Carlo Aerocoupe. Sitting on 15'' Rally II wheels, it's a very unique shape and features familiar styling of the cars we knew as 'muscle cars' in the late 80's. Being that the Grand Prix was a sport luxury automobile, the cabins on these cars rivaled high end luxury cars of the time. The plush seats are covered in comfortable gray cloth upholstery, and given the '2+2' name, you would think there was only room in the rear for two, but there is a bench seat with seatbelts for three that is covered in the same cloth. The center console features an armrest that encloses a large storage compartment, the shifter for the automatic transmission, and an ash tray. Up front, the dash is clean and straight with a classy wood appliqu surrounding vents for the air conditioning unit and the gauges that monitor speed, RPM, fuel levels, oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. Below the switches for heat and A/C is an aftermarket AM/FM/CD head unit. Other amenities include cruise control, power windows, power locks and a tilt wheel. Motivation for this coupe comes from a Chevrolet 305 cubic inch V8 that is mated to a automatic transmission. That stout transmission transfers the power to the positraction 10 bolt rear end. The engine bay maintains most of the stock components, but there is an aftermarket air cleaner that has been painted red, and so have the fender braces to match. Put this car on a lift and much of it will look very familiar. There isn't any fancy hardware, but it's interesting to think that if you were to take a NASCAR Cup car from the same era and put it on a lift, it would look fairly similar. Today that wouldn't be the case. To assist in driving this coupe in day to day conditions is power steering, power brakes with discs up front, and 235/60/R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A rubber putting it all to the road. With very few of these '86 Grand Prix 2+2 Aerocoupes being produced, or surviving, a chance to actually own one doesn't come around very often. When you factor in the limited, one year only production then it certainly has collector status. Throw in the fact that it was built for NASCAR regulations, then that status increases. Far less common than their Monte Carlo cousins with only 1118 being built, the Grand Prix Aerocoupes are a very cool footnote in America's favorite racing series and downright cool cars to boot. The body tweaks to the familiar Grand Prix shape are fairly extensive, and the commitment GM made to winning on the track was surely expensive to put into showrooms. The nose still wears Pontiac's traditional split grille, but it's cleaner and better able to slice through the wind. Then, of course, there's the sloping rear window, which paid big dividends on the track where the smooth flow of air and big ducktail spoiler helped the Grand Prix slip through the air at nearly 200 MPH. This one has been expertly maintained and shows beautifully with a proper silver repaint that's only a few years old. Correct stripes and decals were installed at the same time, so it looks quite fresh and will undoubtedly have a lot of folks doing a double-take when they see it. Fit and finish are above average, particularly for GM of the mid-80s, perhaps because these cars were largely hand-built, and things like the rear deck, nose, and rear spoiler were made of fiberglass, which remains in excellent condition. The interior was pretty standard Grand Prix fare, with luxurious bucket seats with a bit of aggressive bolstering to help hold you in place. They remain in excellent condition and show only very minor wear, remarkably considering this car is nearly 30 years old. All the luxury features you'd expect from Pontiac's top-of-the-line are part of the package, including power windows and locks, A/C, a tilt column, and a decent-sounding Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo. You also got a full complement of analog instruments in the Aerocoupe, including a tachometer which, like many GM cars of the period, likes to park itself at about 1800 RPM when you turn off the key. The back seat is the same as the formal "notchback" coupe and the trunk is truly massive, provided you can fit anything through the gun slit of an opening. The original space-saver spare is still in place and the trunk mat looks almost new. The original engine was a wheezy 305 cubic inch V8, but it was replaced a few years ago with a 350 cubic inch GM crate motor that makes a far more robust 300 horsepower. With an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold up top, an MSD ignition system, and long-tube headers, it feels a lot more like NASCAR than the original. It's also neatly dressed with a K&N open-element air cleaner, bright red ignition wires, and a few dress-up parts to make it pretty. The nice thing about the small block V8 is its interchangeability, so all the factory equipment remains intact and in its original location, so service is easy and parts are plentiful. The 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission is equipped with a shift kit, so it's firm and precise under load yet cruises easily on the highway. A Flowmaster dual exhaust system gives it the right sound to match its newfound performance and the undercarriage is tidy, if not detailed for show. Factory Rally II wheels look as good on the Aerocoupe as they did on Trans Ams and GTOs of yore and carry 215/65/15 Firestone radials. Documented with a build sheet and original owner's manuals, this rare Pontiac is an awesome part of history and available for a very reasonable price.
