As a specialist in 107 body Mercedes, we are always looking for premium quality examples. We recently purchased three cars from an estate in Palm Beach where the owner had passed away. This beautiful, low miles, 560SL was the third of the three cars we purchased. While it does not have any service history, we do have it's Carfax history. This Mercedes spend its entire life in California until the beginning of 2016 when it was purchased by the previous owner. This 560SL is in immaculate condition. It is completely rust free, has an absolutely gorgeous body, beautiful chrome, and a nearly perfect convertible top. Inside the gray leather is all original, has no seat dye, and is in highly impressive condition. This is an absolutely stunning looking car. We believe the paint is all original and there are virtually no flaws or imperfections on the body. The wheels have a Chrome Mercedes star on the center caps. It is highlighted by a two-tone black over grey painted pin stripe. The black convertible top is virtually flawless and is believed to be original. The hard top comes with a car and it is in the same condition as the body. Inside the gray leather is beautiful. There are no cracks or warping on the dash and the wood is equally impressive. Every instrument works, and every light on the instrument panel works. This car still retains its original Becker radio and it's working as it should. The Person Who Won Bid Said he did not know he was going to win it so please make sure you have money ! Johnny Carson's 1988 Mercedes SEC purchased new from Beverly Hills Mercedes from the king of late-night himself Johnny Carson! The vehicle was registered in Johnny's name at his office located at 1999 Avenue of the Stars suite #2100 Los Angeles California and the vehicle was insured with Transamerica Insurance Company Name insured Was Carson Productions Group, some original documentation is still with the vehicle including original owners manual original window sticker and 3 California registrations and insurance cards registering the vehicle to Johnny Carson to my knowledge Johnny owned this vehicle until roughly 2003 when it was sold to one of the neighbors near his home in Malibu for the vehicle did resign most of it's life , the vehicle only has 72,000 original miles man runs and drives truly like a dream just floats down the road and this vehicle still gets a lot of attention! Everything is in working condition the vehicle just passed the California emissions/Smog with no issues vehicle doesn't have any service lights on I truly see no problem getting in this vehicle and driving it anywhere! I will tell you the issues that are wrong with the car mechanically there is a small oil leak from the front part of the engine and it is coming from the valve cover gaskets they will need replacing. Also the air conditioning does not blow cold but the heater is working well condenser is working fine most likely of need of charge or in our state will have to be converted non R12 setup the interior on the vehicle is in excellent condition with no tears or no large cracking in leather either back seats are almost like new the carpet in the vehicle is also in excellent condition and the original floor mats are still with the vehicle also in very good condition the interior and paint is 100% original on this vehicle but unfortunately there is flaws with the exterior which I will explain drivers rear quarter panel rear tire area there is a wrinkle in the panel from a blown tire that damaged this area also the rear bumper was slightly tapped and there is a small crack in the bumper and also the Chrome molding that would line up with the trunk that is on the bumper is slightly bent also since the vehicle was parked out in Malibu it does have rust spots the first one on the windshield washer on Hood in that area there's probably a two and a half inch spot of rust bubbles and also rear window driver side there is a quarter-size rust bubble as well , I did get an estimate from a local Body Shop of $2,470 to fix these damages also the factory pinstripe is starting to fade in some areas along the side of the body and this will also need some attention oh and I almost forgot to mention the automatic seatbelts kind of work only when they want to when you get into the vehicle you'll hear the motors working but the seat belt will not shoot out at you most of the time sometimes we'll get lucky and it will shoot out though this will also need some tweaking to be fixed also the passenger side window motor is working perfectly fine but it is off track and the window need to be placed on track the power sunroof is working perfectly with no issues the rear power windows and driver side window are going down perfectly fine as well all electrical on the vehicle is working as well if you were a fan of Johnny Carson this is the vehicle that you want in your garage I can't imagine the good times that have taken place in this vehicle back in the late 80s and 90s with Mr. Carson and Friends! I never thought that I would sell my beloved Mercedes "Borris", however, the time has come to find him a new home with a new family who will love him. Borris is a 1989 Mercedes Benz 560SEL, with no major issues. He grew up on the west coast, and spent most of his life in a garage in the state of Oregon. Borris has been taken care of very diligently and has had tons of work done recently. The vehicle also has an almost complete service history with tons of receipts and stamps done from Mercedes Dealerships. I have so much info about this car I don't even know where to start! Up for auction and your consideration is a 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SL, finished in Its' original coat of Pearl Silver Mettalic over black leather interior. This is a very original car with the only things being changed besides maintenance items (i.e. belts, hoses, battery, tires, brakes, timing chain, guides,ect) . The car does not have patina. It looks like a new 87 560! The color combination is extremely rare considering the most popular interior color with this exterior color is gray. (If that floats your boat check out my other eBay auction for my 1988 560SL, in Pearl silver Mettalic with grey interior, 37k mile car). This car has excellent original wood and veneers, was stored from 02-2014 but has been used regurally since then, getting all the kinks out of it in about 7000 miles over the past two years. Of course the car has both tops, service records, ect. I won't buy a car that is not documented. The car is rust free with no paint work and paint thickness is 3-3.5 mils around the car which is dead on for factory paint. The interior is really nice showing no cracking in the seats, excellent original dash, bolster wear is negligible. Tires are new as well as the brakes. The chain and guides are already done. Do not buy a 560SL with original plastic chains and guides. These cars are time bombs and I replace them on every 560 I buy. The plastic becomes brittle due to age and if timing jumps, your nice low mileage 560 needs a new engine. This is approx a $2,000 repair. Not much else to say about this sub-50k mile perfect CARFAX and Autocheck and highly documented car. Truly a choice piece at a fair price. In the late-80s, the heaviest of heavy-hitters was the Mercedes-Benz S-class, with the dramatic 560 SEL long-wheelbase sedan at the very top of the hierarchy. Luxury machines like this very attractive black on black 1989 example could hammer the Autobahn all day at triple-digit speeds, coddling their occupants like no other car in the world. For a car that cost the equivalent of more than $100,000 when it was new, this is a great way to get incredible luxury at an incredible discount. Few cars have a more commanding road presence than an S-class Mercedes, and youll have no trouble cruising through traffic with this handsome sedan. Original paint, and it goes to show you what the best paint in the world can deliver, because it still looks great. Of course, some of that is probably thanks to enthusiastic owners. In typical German fashion, the design is restrained and the clean lines minimize the cars size, but theres no denying that this is a lot of sheetmetal hammering down the road. A few bits of chrome, like the surround for the window opening emphasizes the cars best attributes, and theres just no mistaking the big 3-pointed star up front that moves lesser traffic out of the way like a snow plow. Yes, its 26 years old and there are a few wrinkles here and there, but even a middle-aged Muhammad Ali was still formidable. Inside, the S-class got every luxury and convenience item Mercedes engineers could imagine in 1989. Power tan leather buckets are firm and supportive and in shockingly good condition considering the age and mileage on this heavy cruiser. Gorgeous door panels feature different materials and shapes that helped Mercedes break out of its cold, impersonal interior look, and the burled walnut on the center console warms it up inside nicely. Big, clear instruments are similar to those Mercedes always offered, and theres a massive stereo system. Heated seats, automatic climate control, power windows, and a giant trunk are all included, making this a first-class luxury liner. The 5.6 liter V8 under the hood is one of Mercedes most reliable units, capable of running for hundreds of thousands of miles with little more than basic maintenance. Torquey and smooth, it moves the big sedan with the effortless ease of an electric motor, and the relentless push of torque makes it feel like it could accelerate forever. Beautifully maintained, the engine bay is spotless, from the big aluminum air cleaner lid to all the hoses and wires that comprise what was, at the time, the worlds most technically advanced automobile. Obviously, someone loved this one and the maintenance means that its still bulletproof reliable today. Its the same deal underneath, where theres a 4-speed automatic with syrupy smooth shifts and a fully independent suspension that soaks up bumps like a hovercraft. Please read whole ad before bidding! IN STORAGE FOR 10 YEARS! Since I had so many questions asking if the car is running I had someone from Mercedes come by put some fresh gas in the intake and it started right up and runs great!! 1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL Convertible 2 Owner Car with ONLY 55K Original Miles!! Clean Car Fax! This car has been in storage for about 10 year and was just removed to put up for sale. The car is not road ready its been sitting untouched, the gas is bad and should be gone over. The exterior is stunning for its age and looks to be all original. The paint looks to be original, its glossy and smooth as can be a few minor flaws! The interior is also stunning for a 30 year old car and mostly original except for a stereo upgrade before it was put in storage. Under the hood the car is un molested and original. The underside of the car is clean and solid with no signs of any major rust. I did remove the hard top and the soft top is there and it appears original and needs replacing. The car also has chrome wheels that need rechroming. Due to the fuilds being 10 years old I did not want attempt starting the car using the gas in the car and clogging up the fuel injection with any crappy fuel. I did disconnect the fuel pump, had fresh fuel put in the intake, and put a jump on the battery and the motor started right up and ran beautiful no problem with a touch of the key. Like any 30 year car the are a few exterior flaws but all minor and the interior also has some wear but very little. This car with this milage done is worth $20k to $30k I'm selling the car as-is for a faction of that so don't wait to bid it will sell fast!
