Here is your chance to own a truly unique and rare 1 owner V12 Jaguar XJS. This is a very special factory Jaguar show car. There are no others like it for sale on eBay, or online anywhere else. See for yourself. (***** I am hoping some of you Jaguar experts out there might be able to help with the rarity of the car, or provide any additional information on it. I have searched and searched online and have yet to find one like this one. I am a car guy, but unfortunately Jaguars are outside of my area of expertise. If anyone has any additional information that would be helpful for me that I could post with this auction, it would be extremely appreciated!!) Up for your consideration is an original ONE OWNER Bright Red Jaguar XJS V12 Collection Classic Coupe with only 36k original documented miles. You are purchasing this from the original owner and it comes with original dealership bill of sale and a 2 inch thick folder of misc. service records since new. Also comes with all original manuals, misc documentation, and 2 sets of factory keys. Details:The car belongs to my Aunt, who purchased it brand new from Ladd Hanford Jaguar in Lebanon PA on 12/23/1991. It has been her baby since new, however, it is impractical for at this stage of her life, and she has lost her storage spot for it. She has reluctantly agreed to part with it so I am trying to help her out. It appears that the car is a very special one. At the time of purchase they were told by the General Manager of the dealership, Bob Lawson, that this was one of only 8 like cars built by Jaguar, specifically for the Jaguar show circuit. They were told this XJS was extremely rare and that this was the ONLY one of these cars that was sold east of the Mississippi. The other 7 remained and were sold on the west coast. They were told that this one differs from standard XJS's in that is has the following Jaguar factory modifications: - Factory Jaguar lower body ground effects package (I have not yet found one online with this same package, there seem to be none anywhere) - it is not a TWR package like some have suggested.- Red piping on the seats (I haven't found one with this either)- Dual exhaust splitters (surrounded in the body-painted rear fiberglass valance) - again, the only one like it I have found.- Hand-painted tan pinstripe (supposedly done by some famous artist for Jaguar, but neither of them can remember the name of the person). No others seem to have this same pin stripe that I can find online. It is a very high quality job! There could also be some other differences, but this is what they remembered. After some seriously exhaustive internet searching, I would agree that it is definitely not a typical XJS and is unlike any others I can find. She has a ton of original documentation for the car, but has not been able to locate the window sticker. The VIN for the car is SAJTW5849MC178771. It is extremely original right down to the Jaguar stereo and even the original dealership license plate surround is still intact. It is exceptionally clean and unmolested under the hood as well (what an engine! Very impressive!) The car is currently PA state inspected until the end of November. Options/Equipment that I know of include: - Power Steering- Power Brakes- 4 Wheel ABS brakes- Leather seats- Heated seats (driver does not hear, wife said she felt the passenger side heat up while out for a drive)- Power lumbar seats (work fine)- 4-way power mirrors (work fine)- Cruise control (I could not get it to work, but may have been doing something wrong)- Climate control A/C (not blowing cold that I can see)- Original Jaguar AM/FM/Cassette security stereo (works fine)- Power door locks (work fine)- Power windows (work fine)- Power antenna (works fine)- Intermittent wipers (work fine, as does the windshield washer/mist system)- Rear defogger (haven't tested)- Fog lamps- Driver air bag- Tilt Wheel- Tinted glass- 4 Wheel Disc Brakes- Travel computer, tells distance, miles per gallon, and several other features- OEM Jaguar chrome spoke rims - Jaguar burl-wood shift knob (Aunt Sally didn't like the one that came on it and had the dealer install this one, the original is also included though) Here is what I have found that it needs:The car has been driven very minimally over the past 10 years or so and has mainly sat in her garage. I drove it approximately 30 miles to my house a few weeks ago (I couldn't believe all the heads it was turning!). It starts and runs fine. Shifts smoothly. Brakes fine, etc. It does need an alignment as there is a pull to the right when driving. Also, the tires are aging and they are definitely needing balanced. I did notice a "clinking" sound in the front end when you hit a bump. It sounds like shocks to me, they are probably originals. With only 36,000 miles and having been driven mainly on the highway & on paved roads, I can't imagine it is anything serious. The only damage I've seen worth noting on the exterior is on the front fiberglass ground effects package in front of the passenger side front tire (see pics). My Aunt said she scuffed it on a curb awhile back. I also see a light a very light door ding on the passenger side door. Very light and could be removed by a paintless dent guy. Did not chip the paint and it was small enough that I could not get it to show up in a pic. It is light but wanted to note it. There is also one scratch worth noting right under the rear side window on the driver side (please see pics) Otherwise, the car is straight and I don't see any body damage, dents etc to speak of. The only thing the interior needs is the headliner fixed, it is drooping. The material is in good condition, I am sure that it could be removed and reattached. Lastly, the struts that hold the hood up have lost their strength so will need replaced. The brakes were serviced about a year ago and the coolant system was flushed and a small metal tank replaced in August of this year. The tank was ordered through Jaguar and is located on the inside of the front fender. The battery was also new in August of this year. There is NO RUST on the car anywhere and the paint shines about like new. It is not faded anywhere, the chrome is all bright & shiny and in excellent condition. The black rubber on the bumpers is nice as well and not faded. The interior of the car is very close to mint throughout. It is 100% stock and original. Never been out and never modified in any way. You can see by the pics how nice the seats are. The back seat doesn't look like it's been sat in! There are a couple of dark spots on the driver seat as seen in the pics, I believe they would come off but I wasn't sure what to use or try and I didn't want to take a chance on such expensive seats. The only other thing worth noting on the inside is that the burl wood on top of the console in the shifter area has some light hairline cracking from age - see pics. The ash trays in the car are unused and like new and the carpets are excellent. The original floor mats, while not pictured, are included. The car was her baby and she took very good care of it and always had it serviced when it needed something. I have a file that is about 2 inches thick full of service receipts over the years. The car is located in Trout Run PA. You are more than welcome to view it by appointment. The car runs and drives and can be test driven, however, I would recommend having it transported to its new home. The tires (BF Goodrich Comp TA's), while showing excellent tread are aged and I would not trust them. Plus, as noted prior, they are in need of balancing and the car is pulling to the right. I am selling the car as-is, where is with no warranty expressed or implied. While I have described the car in detail to the very best of my ability, this is a 24 year old vehicle and I am sure there is a minor mark or little scratch that I have missed. It is a very nice car, but I would encourage any potential buyers to come and see it in person so you can see it first hand, for yourself. As noted, the car needs a little work, but nothing that appears major. It is a gorgeous vehicle and is ready for it's 2nd owner ever! Someone is going to get a very nice Jaguar that is pretty much like a time capsule! Clear title in hand and can be transferred any time! One final note: I obviously cannot personally make guarantees regarding the significance of the car, other than what the original owners were told by the dealership when the car was purchased new back in 1991. It is very rare to have the benefit of the original owners available to speak with on a 24 year old car, which is another reason that this car is special. I have been contacted by a couple of folks who have shared theories that this car has what is called a "TWR" kit on it, however this does not seem to be the case as the TWR does not have the black horizontal rubber bumpers. Those also have a wider opening in the rear lower valance where the exhaust tips extrude, a red reflector to the inside of each tip. This one does not have that and has a narrower, tighter fitting opening. I am told the TWR's also have the name "TWR" somewhere in front of the shifter. This does not have that. Also, haven't seen any TWR's with the red piping on the seats. I have not had anyone contact me that has been able to produce information on another car that is like this one. It does appear to be very outside the norm. If you have information on these cars, I would very much appreciate hearing from you. Thanks for looking. Feel free to ask any questions! Hello, You are bidding on my wife's 1992 XJS Jaguar V12 convertible. We've owned it for more than two years and have thoroughly enjoyed riding around in this car and traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turns lots of heads and is admired by all wherever we drive it. We've decided to part with it to raise funds for renovations on the home. My wife is not really a car person, but this one all but converted her! When I bought it, it hadn't been driven that much by the previous owners so it needed shocks and struts. I had the plugs replaced, new ignition wires, rotor and cap. A/C was charged up and serviced. That work along was over $2,200. I used synthetic oil since we don't put that many miles on it. I took the stock radio out and replaced with a blue tooth enabled radio for safety. My wife needed cup holders so I took the useless ashtrays out and replaced them with really neat cup holders. Ash trays and the old stock radio go with the car. I had the car inspected in March and they advised me to put new pads on the front and replace the tires due to age of them. So, the tires have only about 500 miles on them! Interior has no tears, no stains or funny smells. There is some minor wear on the driver's side bolster but it's just the finish of the leather, there are no holes or cracks. Everything works and the car starts and runs excellent, in the heat of summer or the dead of winter. The top works flawlessly and is in great condition, no tears and no leaks. The pictures and videos will show the original paint as looking great for it's age but there are a few minor nicks and light clear coat scratches, but this car does not need to be painted. I did pay a professional to remove as many dents and dings as reasonably possible so the body really is in nice shape overall. There is no rust anywhere in the body, frame, floors, none and never has been. Never been wrecked or repaired, no bondo and the chrome is bright as well. I welcome you to view the car in person and actually encourage you take it for a ride. We're in no hurry to sell, so please be respectful when providing offers if you haven't seen the car in person. If you're looking for a quick flip and to make some money here, this is not the transaction for you. I've sold a lot of vehicles on Ebay in my 16 years of being a member with no problems or complaints. We'd like to see it go to a good home where it where it will be well-kept and admired. This car had some major engine problems in the past (specifically the top cam tower seals were shot, its many thousands$$$ to repair and on older jags most people fold) and the car was deemed "unrepairable" by a previous owner and he/she filed on their insurance. The car has NEVER been in an accident of any kind. The first thing I did was have the entire top cam section of the V12 repaired and resealed. You can see on the vehicle history how this played out, but it still flags the title. Hence why she is not $9000-$10k on the price…which is about what I spent to get the motor badass again. For sale is a gorgeous, healthy and rare 91 Jag XJS 5.3 litre V12 convertible with only 71k ORIGINAL miles. I've owned this car for about three years and meticulously got her in tip top shape. This Jaguar hasn't been to the doctor in over 18 months. The electrical system is perfect with zero issues. The powerful engine has one minor oil leak, for its age this is an amazing thing. All major leaks in its life I have had repaired. The car runs and drives great. Its been my favorite car by far. However I own three vehicles and a new job no longer allow this luxury financially so the toys have to go. Has an alpine CD changer/Cassette system. The leather is in decent shape, driver side is naturally worn as leather does over time. Called "Fastest XJS I've driven in years" by my mechanic, a master technician on Jaguars. The top has ZERO tears or wear, but has one sewn spot that the previous owner had fixed. It manually folds down, the hydraulic motor works but I have never looked into why its not connected to the top. The A/C needs freon. I just drop the top. No rust on the bottom of the car, paint is in great shape for its age. THIS IS WHAT I DID ON PURCHASE OF THE CAR: tires. Inside of driver door rebuilt. New cross braces on front end. New struts. New shocks. New Idle control valve. New auxiliary air valve. New hood latch. New hood strut. New heater hoses. New heater valve. New cam plug. Cam towers REMOVED AND RESEALED. New crankshaft seals. New front crank seals. New Brake accumulator. New headlights. New ignition wires. New spark plugs. New Timing chain tensioner. New water pump gasket. New engine cover gasket. New seal rings. New timing cover gasket. New valve cover gaskets. New oil pressure switch. New Fan switch seal. New breather hose. New flame trap. New Fuel level sender and gasket. After making all of these repairs in 2 sittings, the car has never had to go back into the shop except for normal things like brakes. I have all the paperwork for these repairs as well. She's beautiful and ready to go.
