Forced sale due to my divorce and move out of state. I'm down to the wire as the car is at my old house in Alexandria, VA and soon can't be as that's selling too, and I've been lucky enough to have two eBay buyers in a row back out without even seeing it. I don't think you'll find anything else this nice with this mileage at this price. I'm not there with the car, but have made arrangements for someone to meet the buyer for pickup. ========== This 1988 XJ-SC was built in August 1987 and is one of only about 5,000 of this model built from 1985-1988. There are only about 1,600 documented as still on the road worldwide. I have extensively modified it to include a 4 speed automatic overdrive custom racing transmission in place of the GM T300 3 speed that generally comes with them (less than 15,000 miles on it), expanded air intakes and exhaust, custom wheels and low profile Z-rated tires, all black plastic in the cab replaced with wood, custom steering wheel, a remote controlled digital tuner with CD and sub-woofer, dyed carpets and leather so the entire cab is black and blue (no tan roof liner from the window line up like factory standard), lots of computer adjustments, a LoJack GPS retrieval system and more. I've got about $30,000 in it and on last track check it did 0-60 in 7 seconds, which is phenomenal for this model. As a tourer, it's happiest on the highway of course and the 50-70 acceleration is lots of fun with this transmission to back up the engine's power. It's a great hybrid of classic style and modern performance. The body is in excellent shape with one treated rust bubble area about the size of a silver dollar behind the front driver's wheel well. It hasn't even cracked the paint and has not expanded in the 13 years I've had the car. It was treated from the inside. The convertible top is a combination targa top and detachable rear 1/4 hard top (pictured in most of the images), and the removable hard top can be swapped out for a canvas rag top, which I have and will come with the car (pictured in the last image before I modified the car). It's been garaged long enough that the wax has accumulated dust and begun to yellow a bit on the vinyl trim parts. It just needs elbow grease there, but again I'm not with the car. There is a slight attachment bend in the vinyl of the pillar covering at your left temple when in the driver's seat. It's barely noticeable and the only interior flaw. The engine is the original V-12 with a Lucas ignition system. The ignition system wiring is insulated now so there is no problem with bad wiring from the heat of the V as you might read about as common with this system. I find it a much better system than the alternative Marelli ignition introduced the following year (which can leak gas and cause engine fires when it ages due to the design). I have a big book of just about any repair you could make to the car that will come with it compiled through forums with other restoration folks. I do have the original wheels with tires still on them and the original steering wheel if you want them. I'm a certified Jaguar Concourse judge and have rebuilt three Jaguars. This one is my baby and while I did not have a lot of time with her the last few years due to my job, I never considered making her a turn-over. I'm just unable to take her with me due to the location of my move. She's reliable, strong and lots of fun. I hope you can give her a good home! ==========Known/possible mechanical issues: May need an alignment. Has a shimmy over 40 or so. It's possible this is a tire spot from sitting too long and not being driven long enough to round them out again as the tires are very low profile with strong belts, but I'm not there to drive it so haven't tried to push it past the shimmy speed to determine if it's the tires or alignment. So, just in case I'm putting this here so there are no surprises. But, I'm guessing it's the tires needing to be rounded out through driving as there's nothing that should throw it out of alignment sitting in a garage. The gas gauge is not accurate under half a tank. This is a pretty common issue with these. It's the tank floater. It can be fixed, but I've just never bothered as it gets good mileage with the new transmission (over 20 mpg mixed driving). I go a couple hundred miles before I worry about it and just fill it once it's down to about 3/8ths of a tank. All the other gauges are accurate and all the dash computer functions work, including the clock (rare). The cruise control doesn't work. I've never bothered looking into why as I have too much fun driving it myself without any help with the new racing transmission. But, if I had to guess I'd guess the stalk switch on the blinker. That's the most common issue and I have checked the bellows, power to the console switch, etc. Everything else appears to be in working order. There was an erratic idle when fully warmed up and in drive (idle only, drive only - driving it's smooth, park/neutral are smooth), but after cleaning up the throttle position sensor I did not have any trouble my last drive with her before moving. if that turns up again, the TPS is an inexpensive and easily swapped out part and most likely the culprit. Again, I put it in here so there are no surprises just in case it comes back. That's about as honest as I can be. I had a compression test done on it when I bought it. Very strong. Although unnecessary due to its age, I had it emissions tested just for fun the last time I had it inspected and it ran through with flying colors. It's a very solid car. I wish I was closer to it to ensure everything was perfect, but with my work schedule time just got away from us the last few years and now I'm gone. I've priced it to reflect these issues based on the prices of cars with similar low mileage, without further consideration of the mods, and even lowered it beyond that in the hopes she'll go to someone who will love her. Happy bidding.

Hello, You are bidding on my wife's 1992 XJS Jaguar V12 convertible. We've owned it for more than two years and have thoroughly enjoyed riding around in this car and traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turns lots of heads and is admired by all wherever we drive it. We've decided to part with it to raise funds for renovations on the home. My wife is not really a car person, but this one all but converted her! When I bought it, it hadn't been driven that much by the previous owners so it needed shocks and struts. I had the plugs replaced, new ignition wires, rotor and cap. A/C was charged up and serviced. That work along was over $2,200. I used synthetic oil since we don't put that many miles on it. I took the stock radio out and replaced with a blue tooth enabled radio for safety. My wife needed cup holders so I took the useless ashtrays out and replaced them with really neat cup holders. Ash trays and the old stock radio go with the car. I had the car inspected in March and they advised me to put new pads on the front and replace the tires due to age of them. So, the tires have only about 500 miles on them! Interior has no tears, no stains or funny smells. There is some minor wear on the driver's side bolster but it's just the finish of the leather, there are no holes or cracks. Everything works and the car starts and runs excellent, in the heat of summer or the dead of winter. The top works flawlessly and is in great condition, no tears and no leaks. The pictures and videos will show the original paint as looking great for it's age but there are a few minor nicks and light clear coat scratches, but this car does not need to be painted. I did pay a professional to remove as many dents and dings as reasonably possible so the body really is in nice shape overall. There is no rust anywhere in the body, frame, floors, none and never has been. Never been wrecked or repaired, no bondo and the chrome is bright as well. I welcome you to view the car in person and actually encourage you take it for a ride. We're in no hurry to sell, so please be respectful when providing offers if you haven't seen the car in person. If you're looking for a quick flip and to make some money here, this is not the transaction for you. I've sold a lot of vehicles on Ebay in my 16 years of being a member with no problems or complaints. We'd like to see it go to a good home where it where it will be well-kept and admired. I don't mind discussing the car with you on the phone and will provide my contact information upon request. You'll find plenty of pictures here, more that I can email to you and video links to Youtube. I've tried to represent the car as best as possible, but don't forget it's 23 years old (manufactured November 1991) and is original except for the radio. These cars cost $65-70K when new and were the premier luxury convertible of the time (but you already know that probably or you wouldn't be looking). Engine start up, top up and down with walk around (paste the link to your browser):https://youtu.be/R0HKVwzZKF8 Take a short ride in the XJS (paste the link to your browser):https://youtu.be/hDg0QnD2A9g Good Luck! Car is for sale locally and listed in Craigslist, I've set the deposit low and it is refundable (within ten days of receipt) if you are not satisfied or if you buy it sight unseen. I will not divulge my reserve/low offer threshold. If the car doesn't sell, it will go to live auction at the same values, then if it is still not sold, we'll keep it and try again next Spring, weather hasn't been great so we are getting a late start.
