A beautiful, well-sorted and maintained Jaguar XJS Convertible Signal Red with black leather interior is THE perfect contrast, making the car a stunning showpiece. The interior is original and in excellent condition for its age. The seats show natural patina, but still looks fresh. The leather surfaces are very nice with no rips, tears or serious wear. They were re-conditioned in several lightly worn areas with matching dye to restore the luster and detail resulting in a like-new appearance. Carpeting in very good condition, as is the veneer wood trim on the center console and accent areas. There is a slight hairline crack in the center console veneer. The electric-operated mohair exterior top is in excellent condition with no rips or tears and works flawlessly. The interior headliner has some minor appearance flaws (black marks) from normal top up/down cycles. The dash was removed and all defective indicator lights replaced and all connections, etc electrically cleaned and checked. It is now is in very good condition, with all the gauges and indicator lights working correctly. The radio was upgraded to an AM/FM Stereo with CD player, and Bluetooth hands free for cell phone. The air-conditioning works ice-cold as it was professionally converted to R134A in May 2014 with several new components, costing over $2,500. The cruise control does not work. The poor visibility headlights have been upgraded to quartz halogen, which means you can now see where you’re going at night. Included is a folder full of previous and present owner's records and repair history. Also included are the owners manual and warranty booklet, in their original Jaguar factory wallet. Overall, the interior of this car is in very nice condition. The body appears to retain its original paint in all areas including the hood frame, door jams, engine compartment, and trunk areas and, overall, is in very good condition. It has a few very light scratches in certain areas, and some lightly touched areas near the radio antenna. The exterior chrome and stainless is near perfect. Glass is very good and all original, except the windscreen, which was professionally replaced a few months ago. The convertible tonneau cover is like new. The tool kit is complete and in excellent condition. This is just a great looking car with the proper amount of wear and use. The car retains its original lattice-style 15-inch wheels with matching brand new tires, including the spare. The car has never been altered by the installation of body side moldings, CB or cell antennas, and most importantly, the car was never fitted with chrome fender flare trim moldings, which are great for trapping unwanted rain and moisture. The undercarriage is in fine condition with no rust, still retaining it's original undercoating and plated surfaces. The car was, until May 2014, located on the west coast of the USA, always garaged and NEVER exposed to any salted winter roads. Below is a list of work performed under current ownership in the last 12 months: · New windshield installed · 4-Wheel Alignment and all suspension joints correctly adjusted and tightened · Engine oil filter and oil change · Transmission system flush, fluid replaced and new filter installed · Installed K&N high flow air filters, with modified intakes to improve power and fuel economy · A/C system (professionally) converted to R134A · The two intermediate exhaust pipes were removed to improve low-end torque · Replaced several engine air and vacuum lines with new pipes and fittings · Removed, cleaned and replaced engine idle valve system · Balanced the two pairs of throttle linkages correctly · Replaced Steering Rack Bushings with upgraded poly split/sleeve type bushings · Replaced all 12 fuel injection hoses and injector seals · Repaired defective interior rear courtesy lights · Replaced hood black Jaguar badge with chrome Jaguar ornament · Exterior body paint cleaned, polished and buffed using professional buffing tools and compounds The previous owner replaced the tires and installed new shocks, both front and rear. 1990 was the final full year of production of this model with the round English style classic headlights, shortened tail lights, and of course the final refinements to the 5.3 V12 engine. This was also the first year to introduce a driver's airbag and tilting steering column. This is a wonderful looking and smooth running car that will serve its new owner for many years Contact: John (502) 418 - 7912 NOTE If YouTube video's do not appear - please search YouTube for: "XJS eBay Pt1" and "XJS eBay Pt2"
