1972 Chevy C10 Short Bed (SWB): The most popular Chevrolet trucks with collectors are those built between 1967 and 1972. Several factors explain the collector popularity of these trucks. First, they're just damn good looking! To many, the lines of Chevy pickups in this styling series, particularly the 1969-1972 models, are a "classic" expression of what a pickup truck should look like. Second, with this series Chevrolet offered truly carlike interiors, complete with color-coordinated carpeting on the floor. Third, all power accessories once found only on cars were now available on light trucks. A pickup from this "Integrated Styling" series could be equipped with air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, AM/FM radio - virtually any accessory you could find on a car. Forth, and perhaps best of all, with Chevrolet's all-coil spring suspension, pickups of this series offered a ride as smooth as that of a Chevy Bel Air sedan. Fifth, as an added bonus, Chevrolet equipped its light trucks with a range of engines and transmission options that was nearly as wide as could be found in any of the company's car lines. Buyers could fit their truck out for miserly fuel economy with a faithful six and three-speed transmission, or as an interstate cruiser with a high-powered V-8 and automatic transmission. This beautiful Chevy was purchased from it's previous owner in California and arrived in excellent mechanical but had an older two-tone green paint scheme applied. The truck was born Medium Olive & White so when it was repainted in Dec 2015, this was our obvious color choice. We then replaced a few chrome components/emblems and installed a high-end bedliner to complete all the exterior cosmetics. The interior was already in excellent shape and is highly original with exception of a Tach, Radio, and Air Ride Gauges that were added in 2015. The previous owner had installed the Air Ride system with independent bags on all 4 corners. This allows for several ride heights and offers a smooth ride on the streets. The factory original olive houndstooth bench and other interior components contrast nicely with the exterior and give the truck an outstanding overall look. As visible on the SPID tag, this truck left the assembly line as a nicely optioned Custom that still looks as good now as when new. This beautiful Chevy C10 Short Bed recently received a bare-metal, body-off restoration in its original Light Blue & White paint scheme. The previous owner removed any rust from truck, completed the paintwork, upgraded the 350 V8 engine, and installed the interior in late 2013. A photo journal of much of the work completed on the body is available. The C10 has apprx 122k miles on it since new but less than 1k miles since its completion. When we purchased the Chevy we upgraded the wheels and tires and installed a new chrome rear bumper. It only took those few simple add-ons to get the C10 to look as good as it runs and the finished result is an outstanding truck! The interior is far more comfortable than a factory bench and features two high-back bucket seats.
