DAILY DRIVER OR WINTER PROJECT. Shorty started out as a 1971 Chevy C10 Long Bed work truck with the standard wheel base of 127". Even back than, as well as today, long beds just weren't "cool", so the owner decided to shorten his truck. A C10 Short Bed wheel base is 115", 12 inches shorter than a long bed and the bed is 2ft. shorter (6ft.) than a long bed. He would have to rework the frame and the bed. Wait, since I have to cut the frame and bed, lets take it one step farther. Lets take 24 inches off the frame (wheel base 103") and 3-1/2ft. off the bed. New bed length would be 4-1/2ft long, now that would be different. (I'm guessing as to how Shorty came to be). Shorty is an older build and showing 127,xxx miles on the odometer. Drives ok, but like a truck with 127,000 plus miles on it. Mechanically, the truck is tired. Suspension and motor could use rebuilding, or you could just drive it as is, a daily driver. Look at the pictures, this truck is a great start for a awesome project. Note: Shorty does needs alots of thing redone to make it mechanically as nice as it looks. This is a 1971 Chevy C10 Truck that can be driven until its rebuild is started. The guy I bought Shorty from, put an amateur paint job on it. The color is real nice, but the paint job and body prep is not the best, but the truck does look as good as the photos. No rust thru area on this truck. There are some spots, (on cowl, tailgate and in front of the passager rear wheel) were the paint has a few bubbles in it. See pictures. Here are some items needing replaced.... A/c fan switch (have part). All Window rubber and run channels, front and sides, front windshield, (fogged around lower edge, see picture), wing windows, doors need aligned. windows are hard to roll up and down. Interior ok (7.5) seat is cracking. Lowered 3" in front 2" in rear. Polish aluminum rims. V8 small block 350, Edelbrock Cylinder Heads, Holley 750 Carburetor, MSD Coil, Mild Cam. Headers and dual exhaust. 3 speed automatic transmission, 3:73 rear gears (posi) Pro Stick Shifter with reverse lock out feature. The transmission has been modified, all shifting is done manually. Drove Shorty from Orlando to San Antonio last year. This truck is drivable and is being driven now. Pictures taken in Fla. were taken last year. The pictures shown at home are 2 months or newer. Entertaining Offers Fully built nut and bolt frame off One of a kind K10. This isn't a truck that has a rhino lined frame and rattle canned rust spots on the undercarriage. You will not find another K10 of this caliber for sale. Frame was smoothed and plated. All undercarriage surfaces were either polished, chromed, or powder coated. The top is as pretty as the bottom. I am an exotic car guy, and the fit and finish on this truck is without question flawless. I am very reserved in ever stating show quality or show worthiness, but this truck is SEMA or Barrett Jackson quality. There isn't a flaw on the truck. Show paint. Ride is smooth and true for a short bed truck on brand new Toyo 38x15.50x20 tires. Custom bench seat, conservative stereo, all new interior pieces, etc... Fuel filler was relocated to the linex bed. Hopefully the pictures can do the balance of the description. Whether your desire is to roll this to cruise ins, win every show you attend, take it to SEMA and display your wheels or product, or park it in the garage and dry detail it as I did, the joy of ownership this truck brings is well worth the investment.
