This VW Ragtop is an exceptional example of a quality built classic. This little beetle spent its life in California before it came to Boise which is the reason why it's such a solid rust free car. No expense was spared by the previous owner when he had the entire beetle restored and rebuilt. Thousands of dollars were invested into making this little ragtop one of a kind! There was over 10k alone in just paint and body work! The platform of this beetle sports a solid 70' pan with an adjustable air front end. A 2110cc engine with dual carbs was installed to give this little beetle the power and stamina to keep up with current vehicles on the road. Then transferring the power to the ground is a Freeway Flyer transmission allowing the beetle to cruise on highways and freeways without the risk of damaging the engine from long periods of high RPM's. It has a custom weave style beige interior installed with custom orange bead piping that matches the exterior color, new tan canvas material on ragtop, one piece side windows, cal-style rubber window seals, solid aluminum running boards, and 15" chrome VW steel wheels with true 3 1/2" wide white wall Firestone tires. This beetle is a great driver that you will enjoy with each drive. Be prepared to turn heads everywhere you go and get tons of thumbs up. Recent maintenance items that I had done in the past several months include brake pads, flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours of listing closing. The remaining amount is due within 7 days of listing closing. Payments must be made through Wire/Funds transfer secured by bank. The beetle will not be released for transport until the total amount has cleared. If you need help arranging transport shipping please let me know. Vehicle is sold as is with no warranty If you have "0" feedback or purchases on eBay please contact me first before bidding.

I hate to sell this little baby, It has been one of my favorite cars. Full of rare items and a true crowed pleaser either at shows or just driving down the road. I've just got too many cars. It is just done being restored: All new brakes All mechanicals gone through and rebuilt, original numbers matching engine None numbers matching full syncro trans fully rebuilt no expense spared, New Stratus Silver paint with 5 coats of clear and polished out. All new West coast classics correct German cloth interior 5 new radial tires including spare All 5 wheels are very rare 15" riveted not welded wheels date coded to car Caoch restored steering wheel with NOS horn button Correct Nordic states rare tail lights (these are not the standard snow flake style) Early correct Bosch headlights Original Jemeppe Securit Belgium window glass This car runs and drives like new !!!! This little baby started it's life out in Belgium assembled back in March of 1956. Now torn down and put back 100% to it's original state (well maybe just a little better ;) Of coarse that is what we do, make things better. It features a number of Belgium only spec parts, including window glass, front sway bar, and riveted (instead of welded) 15 inch wheels. It also does not have a body number in the original location like the German built cars (stamped into the body below the vin tag) instead it is stamped into the right side inspection plate. It also does not have a made in Germany tag either, it never had one because it was not built there. Yes, by 1956 demand for these and different country DOT standards were all over the place, so Volkswagen would send cars disassembled to other countries for assembly. This somehow was easier to get them into said countries and save on import duties. To think this little beetle managed to retain most all of it's original parts including motor (now with an Okrasa engine kit) front beam, and transaxle. Yea, this is a numbers matching car after 59 years, WOW !!!! Take a look at the pictures and please ask questions, as I'm sure I left something out.

PLEASE READ THE AD CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BID! TWO FOR ONE SALE! I am including with “BUY IT NOW!” a second, trashed out 1974 Super Beetle as a parts car! All you need is a trailer to cart it away on. I am including the second car for free! If you do not desire the parts car, the price does not change. MAIN ATTRACTION: 1974 VW Beetle w/ rather rare operating factory sunroof. (NOT SUPER BEETLE!) DRIVETRAIN: 1600cc engine and transmission are great. Like all carbureted Beetles, she starts hard when she's cold. You have to warm her up..and then she's good to go and runs like a bat out of hell. She drives out excellently, and tracks true. EMPI "Monza"-type exhaust (rusty but solid). BODY: Body is in very good condition. All four fenders were "smoothed" by a previous owner. This is a technique where body filler is added to "smooth" out, and/or change the lines of the car, so there IS body filler on all four fenders. (Fender-top front turn signals were shaved by a previous owner.) Three small spots of surface rust are bubbling through the paint, and the point of the "trunk" lid, down below the latch, is completely rusted through, but the door frames are solid as are the floor pans. Driver’s door has some rust on the lower hinge, and seems “sprung” and needs force to close properly. Rear, driver's side fender has a small dent. Some body moldings were removed by a previous owner. Paint is decent other than the aforementioned bubbles. It appears thick to me; like it was applied by an amateur. Car was professionally lowered with coil-over shocks on all four corners. All the glass is good. Both sides roll down, but need a guiding hand to do so. As I said, this model has the much-desired factory sunroof, and it operates fine. The cables work PERFECTLY! When you crank it back, you can see, from the top, some mild surface rust and the sealing gasket is missing. (I keep a tarp over it to keep it dry inside.) She has aluminum EMPI 8-Spoke Porsche wheels. No door keys! Headlight trim rings were sanded, primed, and painted flat black with clear satin topcoat. Tires have excellent tread on them, but they are older. INTERIOR: Carpet is good, from EMPI. She has older EMPI racing seats installed, and they are structurally great, but the upholstery material is in poor condition. Front door panels are intact, but rough. Rear side panels are missing. I was going to replace them all with diamond-plate, so I didn't sweat it. EMPI "T"-handle shifter installed. Headliner is mostly missing, but what IS there is BAD!! It will need to be completely replaced. Dash was being prepped for a diamond-plate treatment, too, so every dash-mounted item is simply hanging through the dash holes. NO SPEEDOMETER installed, but with “BUY IT NOW!”, I will throw in one you can use when you get to that part of the project. WIRING/ELECTRICAL: A previous owner rather hashed some of the electrical wiring, so it has headlights, tail lights, brake lights, but no turn signals, no dash or interior lights, and no hi-beams. I bought this as a project, but I have too many. Time to pare down a little and I've decided the bug is the one to go. I'm concentrating on my other projects, so my loss can be your gain. Please note: This car runs and drives right now. You can hop in, fire it up, let her warm up, and hit the road if you want, but If it was me, I'd put it on a trailer because of the older tires, the lack of a speedometer and turn signals. That would, of course, be up to your good judgment. I’ve been as completely honest and up front as I can be with my description, but I implore you to come and inspect the car, or have an agent of your choosing to do so before you buy it. (I will do all that I can to accommodate any inspection avenue you choose.) I don’t think I’ve missed anything, but I’m only human. If you wish any additional pictures, or have any questions, please post them and I will do my best to respond as promptly and as accurately as I can. NOTE: This item is also offered for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the sale if it sells to a local buyer. INCLUDED PARTS CAR: 1974 Super Beetle – It is a battered hulk, as you can see in the pictures, but it has many parts that will interchange with the Standard Beetle, and it is included in the sale, at no additional cost. No engine, transmission, spindles, suspension, wheels, tires, etc. Does have Doors, windows, breastplate, trunk lid, all four fenders, turn signals, headlight housings, seats, door latches and handles, front clip, etc. It will NOT roll, and MUST be trailered! What parts you cannot use on the Standard beetle, you can clean up and sell. NOTE: Remember, the parts car is included for free. You can decline it, but the price for the main vehicle will not change.

This car has been fully restored in 2005, runs and drives well enough to be a daily driver. 1600cc motor with dual carbs The odometer shows just over 30,000 miles and is believed to be actual - though I can't confirm that with 100% certainty. Tires are in great shape Starts great, was stored (and not started all winter) and started right up with no issues Shifting this cars takes a little getting used to, as expected with any car 50 plus years old The paint looks great, though has some cracking and small rust spots (see pics) The front passenger side fender has a dent and cracking paint as well as the rear passenger fender Top is in excellent condition and does not leak Interior looks very nice, small tear in passenger seat and headliner is coming loose (see pics) Car has been converted to 12 volt system and everything is functioning properly Brakes have been checked and bled - due to replacement of brake light switch (which is located on the master cylinder) Transaxle fluid has been changed, along with an oil change If you are in the area and would like to look at it, I'm usually available after 4 - 4:30 weekdays and almost anytime on weekends (I can arrange to be available at other times if needed) ***The last picture is a thorough description of the restoration as provided by the previous owner**

CALIFORNIA BUG 1977 was the final year of North American production for the legendary Beetle. This one has been a Southern California car its entire life, and still has the original license plate frame from Santa Monica. This car is a daily driver. It starts reliably, idles smoothly, shifts well, and has healthy power. There are no known issues with the mechanicals. The paint is shiny, with a few touch-up spots visible in the photos as a slightly darker blue. Here's a video of the car:http://youtu.be/e4k-sNsAbmc Here's a video of it running:http://youtu.be/x3zV9UR5Wkg Feel free to contact me any time on my mobile phone:Josh Cantor (858) 204-8304
