My wife and I bought this Beetle Convertible new and it has been lovingly cared for ever since. Regular oil changes and maintenance.Super nice condition throughout with only 71,000 miles. Never wrecked. It is loaded with everything and everything works. Runs great and is super smooth.Beautiful top in excellent condition. Interior is nice with no tears, stains, or holes. The only flaws on entire car are a broken glove box handle, although glovebox latch still works and can access glove box. And the passenger power lock button is broken, but the passenger power lock still works with driver button and key. WOW!!!! You will be hard pressed to find a more solid ragtop with as much to offer as this one for this low reserve! This 62 Ragtop has been used as a daily driver. The motor is a 1641 dual port with only about 700 miles since it was rebuilt. It has been lowered with a 4" narrowed, adjustable beam. It drives down the road great and is as tight of a bug as I have ever driven. It shifts tight, does not popout of gear and has a short shift kit. Steering is tight and does not wonder all over the road like most lowered bugs. The car has new tires, a very cool louvered deck lid and cool new floor console. The ragtop is a factory original and slides great and the top is like new. It has a very nice stereo, with rear package tray speakers and very nice kick panels with speakers. The installation is a professional one. There is a very cool knob on the dash that I have never seen before in a VW, and I am assuming that it went with a former older radio install???? Pretty cool I think! The heater works, as well as the defrost! All lights work. Heater channels are great and so are the floors. There is no rust known on the car. New door seals have been installed. Front and rear aprons are great as well. The original color was a light yellow. I can not stress how drivable and solid this ragtop is. Fly in and drive home! You won't be disappointed! The car is being sold AS IS. You are welcome to see the car in person, or have someone look for you, PRIOR to bidding, as your opinion could vary. I bought this car a couple weeks ago from a private seller. She drove the car during college. I have decided I cannot maintain two cars as well as a job and family! I just don't have time and room for it. It was an impulse purchase. I registered the car with the DMV and the new title should arrive at my home in the next few days. Clean title. First, the "negatives": The emergency brake does not lift up. The top opens fine but does not shut without manually helping it a little bit before it "catches" and finishes closing automatically. I think it is just hung up a bit and it won't take much time or money to re-align it and make it work properly. I have discounted the price of the car to account for this.The left rear reverse light is out. There are a few scratches on the outside - it is a 10 year old car. The cloth attached to the passenger door is slightly detached. It is not unsightly and could probably be easily fixed if it bothered you.Now, the "positives":I replaced the front brake pads and had the rotors turned.All fluids are fine as well as the back brakes.The exterior is in fantastic shape - just a few small scratches. The interior is in fantastic shape. There are no tears in the leather. I had the rear glass re-glued to the top. AutoCheck report available - ask me for it and I will email it to you. It is clean.No accidents. The price is far under blue book. The "fair" KBB private sale value is $5,063 and "good" is $5,358. I am not making any money off this sale - I simply want what I have put into it.I have a "for sale" sign in the window so it is for sale locally. If someone here buys it first I will end the eBay sale.
