1969 VW Beetle (Bug) in Diamond Blue (1540 cc Engine) This Bug has been through a complete body off rebuild, too many new parts to list but I have all the receipts, here are the major items: The engine and transmission were rebuilt less than 3,000 miles ago by the previous owner and the engine runs really strong List of things that were done to the engine: Reground crank, rebuilt connecting rods, replaced main bearings, replaced rod bearings and cam bearings, camshaft w/gear, scat shifters, CB filter pump, pistons & cylinder set (905 forged), barrel shims, push rod rubes, gasket set & seal (German), Factory rebuilt heads (VW), Used pulley (Degree), External clamp kits, fan belt, plugs, plug wires, Used German F&S clutch plate, points & comp. 009, fuel line, and filter. Aligned bore & thrust cut. Opened heads to 90.5 bore. A new oil cooler was installed as well. Empi Short Shifter installed (that really improves shifting performance.) Brand New Tires (including the spare) and Brakes A new Gas Tank (and all of the filler neck hoses and vent hoses were replaced), a heavy duty rear sway bar with urethane bushings was installed as well as urethane bushings on the front anti-sway bar. A new battery was installed at Costco. When the entire front end was rebuilt, track rod arms, steering damper, ball joints & steering box, the steering couple were also replaced. The new steering box makes a big difference in how the car drives. Cosmetically, the running boards have recently been replaced, as well as the sun visors and interior and exterior mirrors. The car has the Original VW steering wheel and the dash is not cut up or mangled. Glove box is new. The body was completely removed from the frame, and the floor pans were replaced, along with the luggage shelf, all from Wolfburgs West, and all were coated with POR-15. The body was sanded down and dents were hammered out to reduce the need for filler. The body was coated 4 times with primer and sanded down in-between coats, and then received 3 coats of Diamond Blue base coat and 2 coats of clear. All fenders, hoods, and miscellaneous pieces were painted off the car, for a complete job. The underside of the fenders received Wurth undercoating to reduce the chance of rocks hitting the underside of the fenders and producing a “star” chip that shows up on the top side of the fender. The interior received all new padding, new upholstery, new carpets and new headliner. The floors, doors, roof and rear shelving also received sound and heat insulation, to reduce noise and heat in the interior. Most of the switches are original, as is the speedometer, but with new center caps on the switches. New Wiring harness was installed and a new “Retro Sounds” radio. The car received new stainless steel fasteners when putting it back together, to reduce rusting of the bolts. It also has all new rubber and felt throughout. The car retains its original CA black plates. It comes with the original jack and tool kit as well as the original owner’s manual. This Car was originally sold in January of 1969 in San Jose, CA, and has seemed to have spent its entire life in California. The car has had a final tune up, carburetor, clutch and brake adjustment from Fred’s Garage in Redwood City, CA.This car does not come with a warranty, given or implied. Please do your due diligence, and view or have someone view the car for you. Once purchased any issue found later will be the buyers responsibility. I have tried to convey the condition of the car honestly, and have not left out anything intentionally. This is a great car, and drives just like the one I owned in 1969 when I was 16. Oh the memories.

Restored 1966 Volkswagen BugHere we have for sale a nice restored 1966 Volkswagen bug. This is a gorgeous bug that has been all gone through, from new paint, new interior, new engine, and new rubber. It is a great bug that is fun and reliable to drive. You can't get more reliable then a brand new 1600cc single port with a new Solex carburetor and 12v electrical system. The bug has a complete brand new interior, everything is new from the seat covers, door panels, carpet and floor mats. The headliner was installed from a professional upholstery shop. The rubber mats match what this bug would have in it stock from the factory. The steering wheel was painted and a brand new German turn signal switch was put on the car. The window rubber is brand new and same is the trim. The window rubber was installed by a professional window installation company who does it properly and glues the rubber so their are no leaks. The bumpers are brand new euro style bumpers. The fenders are all new replacement fenders. The front turn signals are the early peanut style blinkers that are brand new too. The tail light lenses are new. All of the chrome body trim is new. The roof rack is a genuine Volskwagen bug rack from the 60's. It's a very rare and hard to find rack that I had chromed and it looks awesome on top of the bug. It is not a reproduction, but a true accessory from back in the day. The engine is a newly built 1600cc single port engine that runs perfect and drives amazing. The engine purs like a kitten and sounds nice. The engine tin is all new and has been painted. The electrical system has been upgraded to 12v and an alternator. The carburetor is new and same as the distributor and coil. The transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch was replaced when the engine was built. The wheels are new chrome wide Porsche style rims with new chrome VW hubcaps. The brakes have all be gone through and the bug stops firmly and quickly. The headlights and both front and rear turn signals all work. The brake lights and dome light inside works. The horn and windshield wipers don't work though. I'm guessing they were not converted to 12v. The bug also has brand new running boards and stainless trim on the body too. There is some rust in the heater channels both in the front and back and some repairs to the floor in the back on both sides. The paint is new on the car but is does have some chips and scratches in it. There is also some minor dings in the body here and there. It's a nice quality driver bugs that you could go to shows with. It's not a perfect restoration but it looks good and would be perfect for the guy or girl who wants a nice clean driver bug. It's just a nice daily driver that you can jump in and go for a cruise with. Please contact me with any and all questions that you might have. My phone number is 775-830-6760. Thanks for looking!
