1970 VW beetle, a work in progress, and a daily driver ...... It's lowered, has new front disk breaks, new wheels and tires, new electronic ignition, new alternator, new shifter and shift bushings, new throttle cable, and peddle kit, new clutch, new shocks, new fuel lines, new battery, just did the motor mounts. Body work is done, and I painted it with rattle cans, you are welcome to start over. I put low back seats in it. It runs great, I've driven it to Palm Desert, to San Diego twice, and all over LA. It goes where ever I point it. It's fun to drive and a head turner There is no heater, I put J tubes, and extractor exhaust system and Glass Packs on it. The interior is thrashed, I replaced the window regulators, (found German ones) and put door panels on, but the seats need covering, there is no head liner,or carpet, etc, etc, etc. There is rust under the battery pan, an it was wrecked once upon a time on the left front corner.I am not the original owner, and I don't know who is. The mileage has turned over and past it's capacity, and the speedometer is currently disconnected because it was making a horrendous racket. THIS VEHICLE IS A PROJECT , NO GUARANTEE/WARRANTY IS IMPLIED OR OFFERED IT HAS NOT BEEN RESTORED, JUST REPAIRED AND UP GRADED, AND STILL NEEDS LOTS OF WORK. If you are looking for a classic Beetle Bug and you are a fan of Stephen Kings "The Shining" it won't ever get any better than this OR if you are just looking for a good Bug with lots invested in to making it a great driving car...well you found it! This is a 1968 Type 1 Volkswagen or more likely better known to you as a "Bug". Actor specifically bought this Bug for the character development for his role as Jack Torrance in "The Shining" a stage play by Stephen King. Stephen King cast the production. King originally intended "The Shining" to be a play in five acts much like a Greek tragedy. It took 40+ years for the book to finally be realized as a stage play. The World Premiere took place in Omaha, Nebraska at Sokol Auditorium. In the book Jack Torrance drives a 1968 Red VW Bug. The actor wanted to experience what it would be like to drive across country in a small VW Bug as preparation for the part. Torrance would have driven from Vermont to Colorado in the small car with his wife, son and all of their belongings crammed in to it...all the while battling to stay sober! The Bug has no windshield wipers as the previous owner wanted it to be more of a "rally" car. He also "blacked out" the chrome and tinted the windows. The car has no radio. The car does not start with keys but rather a push button mechanism underneath the dash. We have keys for the doors and trunk lid. Jack Torrance was a teacher at Stovington Prep in Vermont which is a fictional school. They had a "Stovington Prep Pride" sticker made for the back of the car. They also had a "Stovington Prep Parking Permit" sticker made for the front window. The car also features a bumper sticker on the rear window that says "The Overlook or Bust" featuring a stylistic hotel with a skull and mallet. The car has had quite a bit of work done to it. It has new brakes, a new carb, new transmission, newer tires and much much more. We have invoices totaling over 5K for repairs alone! During the run of the show they parked the Bug in front of Sokol Auditorium as if the Bug was parked in front the Overlook - this was a big hit. The car was also featured in the playbill and we have included a photo. The Bug successfully made it from Los Angeles to Omaha and back. The Bug is currently in Los Angeles and you can view it by contacting me for an appt to do so. Take away the car being tied to the show and this is just a SOLID BUG on its own! Offering for sale a piece of motion performance history. 1968 vw beetle by Motion Performance from Sunrise Highway, Long Island NY. this car was recently found a couple blocks away from the original Motion Performance location and has been there for 47 years until now.. some of you may not even know that motion started it's business as a mini car high performance and racing facility in which Bill Mitchell (corvette designer) was actively involved. Bill M and Joel rosen built a handful of strictly racing Thunderbugs. and built high performance vw's for street use also. this car here is a street version with modifications such as.....hegh perf engine, racing trans, reverse lockout manual shifter, perf exhaust, perf ignition, wide tires with centerlines and center spinners, euro mirrors, all VDO gauges, nerf bumperettes, custom interior with Cerullo racing bucket seats. included with car is multiple receipts from Motion Performance, a Thunderbug iron on Jacket patch and an original authentic Motion Supercar Club decal that came with the car. the car is currently at the shop of someone formerly of motion perf and can be restored by him if you're willing, or by any other means you wish. this car is NOT in running condition and should be treated to a full restoration to bring it back to it's motion days. additional photos will be provided by request. $500.00 deposit upon purchace by Paypal and balance paid by mutual agreement. preferrably bank transfer! any additional questions by Email [email protected] will be returned asap. thank you all for looking! this car is a must for any serious motion car collector. the missing link and possibly the only motion VW beetle remaining in existence.

This vw sat in a storage locker for seven years @$140.00 a month. The guy just walked away. I won the bid and went through the riggers to get the title (court order). I'm Having health issues so I have to sell it The vw runs good. I've had many of these over the years and remember the minor faults associated with these cars. In fact I think the reason the vw was in storage fo so long is a wire came off the vacuum shift mechanism .

here is my 1969 VW drives and shifts like new I am selling it because I don't drive it I have own it for a year the person I bought from she had own it for ten years that's all I know it has being repainted as far as I know it hasen't being crush it has a small dent on the front left fender there is no rust on the car other then normal I have install a new cd player with four new speakers sounds great I probably had put less then two thousand miles sinse I purchase it it starts right on I had a new clutch put in and new brakes it has rear pup up windows original everything is original miles I can't tell if there original it is a great everyday driving car or just for pleasure
